His funeral was a couple weeks ago, and as he was taken away from the last time, and his spirit sent to the stars, this was this final song.
I don't know if I could have it any other way, but it makes it almost impossible to hear this song and not cry anymore
I had an uncle who was my best friend and passed a couple of days after David Bowie. This song was playing when I got the news. Don't think I'll ever forget.
They're jamming out together on Mars.
@@ThinWhiteAxe I hope so. Thanks mate.

Just one of the great masterpieces of the greatest showman and artist of his generation. Hope he's having fun jamming on Mars while we all jive to this. ⭐⭐⭐
Superman❤
see all young kids enjoying the show its precious, that generation (the 70´s) know the music more the any people today.-
you are aware that bowie was extremely popular? the younger generation just listens to what runs on the radio/is popular between their peers, hence the big crowds at swift concerts today
@@troonslayerino my little girl , 14 years old raisin listen The beatles, genesis, pink floyd, elvis, queen, bowie, etc. This music fascinating her. im proud of she, my little queen..
David Bowie is my favourite singer ever and I have a poster of him in my room that a friend of mine gave me as a gift on January 8th, which happens to be Bowie's birthday. I'm pretty sure that if he didn't die back in 2016 he would still be making great songs. Now I look him in this kind of videos and I appreciate his unique style. For me, he's still alive living in my heart. He's the starman he sings about in this song.
Superman ❤❤❤
😊
Bowie would be happy to know that the young generation of content creators are having fun with his song on tiktok. Literally a song that stood the test of time. That's Magic!

It takes 4 billion years to get from single cell to intelligence. We were so lucky to see and hear David Bowie and the memories and music continues...👌
You're under a spell.
I agree. We were blessed.

Bowie is a great musician. You've have a lovely name and I must say you're beautiful too. Sorry for commenting on your comment. I am Johnson, mind getting to know you gorgeous?
He will always have a place in my heart. The movie Labyrinth was a movie that got me through a really difficult childhood. I owe him so much for that. He is the only star and famous person I ever cried about x
Starman
Didn't know what time it was, the lights were low
I leaned back on my radio
Some cat was layin' down some rock 'n' roll
"Lotta soul, " he said
Then the loud sound did seem to fade
Came back like a slow voice on a wave of phase
That wasn't no DJ, that was hazy cosmic jive
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
I had to phone someone, so I picked on you
Hey, that's far out, so you heard him too
Switch on the TV, we may pick him up on channel two
Look out your window, I can see his light
If we can sparkle, he may land tonight
Don't tell your papa or he'll get us locked up in fright
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie
Starman waiting in the sky
He'd like to come and meet us
But he thinks he'd blow our minds
There's a starman waiting in the sky
He's told us not to blow it
'Cause he knows it's all worthwhile
He told me
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

R.I.P David Bowie 1947-2016 🙏🙏🙏
I saw David Bowie in 1967 on a ship coming back to the US from Europe. He sang in one the three clubs on board. One of his lesser known songs, started with "On the .. . ." I can never remember the title. .mirror ball spinning, disco lights. . . I was 12. Love Starman. Somehow you know it's real.
there's probably an account of that show somewhere, was the song something like "Amsterdam"? (that song starts with "in the.. [port of Amsterdam]")
@@Copelandvideoessays That didn't release until the 80's, but perhaps he wrote it much earlier, who knows.
The song 'An Occasional Dream' released in 1969, but I suppose its possible he wrote it by 1967.
The second line of the song goes 'On the corner of a bed'
@@Whokn6627 Bowie didn’t write Amsterdam, that’s a Jacques Brel cover (1964) and Bowie would have first heard it in possibly September of 1967 when Scott Walker did his cover. Bowie’s own studio version is from the 1971 Hunky Dory sessions and the first recorded live performance is from February 1970. An Occasional Dream cannot be from before 1969 considering that song is about the Hermione Farthingale break up.
Listening to Bowie with my 13 year old granddaughter, just marveling at the eternal beauty of music.
Still an amazing song. It was played at my friends funeral a few month back and a hundred people sang along. Have heard it gets played at funerals a lot now. Beautiful Bowie artistry xxx
