Anything that comes from Grandma's recipe box, is a winner to please everyone. It doesn't matter where you're from, in every culinary culture, grandmas make the best everything! Oh, and I am down with Dude, "is there such a thing as too much flavour"? I say nay nay.
Broccolini is my favorite vegetable. It literally is a hybrid of gai lan (Chinese broccoli) and broccoli. I believe it was created by Mann’s in California. Some places call it baby broccoli for those looking for it. 👍
I didn't know that Gai lan is also called Chinese broccoli. I think we usually translate them as "kale" in our country. Then I see Western videos and see that their "kale" is a different thing from gai lan. Thanks for this explanation, by the way.
Love that dish , pity I can’t get that vegetable here in Jamaica , and the broccoli we do get is ridiculously expensive , so much so they divide the head in two , another simple and tasty dish though , have a blessed Sunday with your family .
I know Dude always enjoys your cooking, Flo, but he REALLY seemed to love this one!! I think he gave this recipe several thumbs up…can’t wait to try it in my kitchen! TFS (and happy Sunday afternoon!) Sharon🤗🇺🇦
Ohhhhh! So yummie! Thank you so much! Just bought your book. Got it 2 days ago. Can't wait to try your recipes!!! Xièxiè! For color and expanded tastebuds appeal, I'd add a little red bell pepper and a little yellow squash (summer squash, lately I'm so in love with this squash, I put it in most of my stir frys). I'm salivating now! I need a bucket... ✌😄👌💞💞💞💞💞
Happy Sabbath Day! I bet your grandmother is still cooking up great meals for others 😉! Bought your cookbook and it’s coming in tomorrow…so I’m excited! So I will be making your recipe! Thanks for helping us people that need help with cooking! 😂
In our family Soy Chicken is made with a whole chicken. Combination of Soy, water, dry sherry, sugar, star Anise and Szechuan peppercorns & sesame oil. Family favorite. Each of our boys made this the first dish they learned to cook once leaving home on their own.
Love your recipes and how easy you make it to follow. Have made a few of your recipes modified for my food intolerences. Delish. Making a beef and broccoli and bok choy with bean sprouts and rice vermicelli tonight. Keep up the fantastic videos.
Hmmm?! Never tried broccolini? Going to try this one!!! I love your recipes and videos because it's the "no fuss" simplicity of them that's appealing!! Keep doing you, & thank you both so kindly!!
I like broccolini they don’t always have them in the markets but I still prefer the Chinese broccoli. Your grandma’s chicken dish looks delicious thanks for sharing , grandma’s are the best! I love my grandma miss her so much 🙏
Thank you for reminding me how easy and tasty this cooking can be. I am just learning about all the sauces like oyster and hoisin. It just adds so much flavor. Thank you Had to edit my remark to say how amazing this taste! Hardest thing was letting the chicken marinade and not cook it right away!
Hi Flo & Dude….my god that looked awesome!! I know what’s for dinner tomorrow. It’s a great meal to quickly put together after a long day at work…..especially if you already have the chicken marinating and the broccolini or broccoli cut and washed. Thanks for your great recipes!! 😊🇨🇦
Yummy!!! We went to my sister-in-law's for beef and broccoli stirfry and it was so good. Very much like this but she added some chili sauce/paste to it for a bit of a kick. I can't pronounce the name but it was so good.
Wow and yum! Dude totally rocked and owned those Taste bites. 😁 While I was watching...I was thinking of so many things I would love to add. I must try this. Thank you so much! ~Sharon
Hello flo and dude, I am addicted to your videos I just made chicken and mushrooms, and am going to make the chicken and broccolini, tonight’s was delicious. I am curious you use a lot of ginger I buy it for my dumplings etc, but here in australia it is $55 a kilo how much is it in Canada, thank you for your recipes
This is my first time watching anything like this, how much chicken did you use? It looked like six to eight thighs. Is that about right. Thank you so much.
Enjoy as always. Looking forward to receiving the Patreon recipe Going back to the Grandma’s Chicken in packets. Could this iteration be cooked in that manner. Also could you comment on the utility of different thickening agents. Corn Starch, Potato Starch, Arrowroot etc? Thanks in advance. Stay safe Michael
Hi Michael, I suppose the chicken can be cooked like the chicken packets but if you add the broccoli/broccoli to the packets they might be too over done. I use cornstarch for thickening sauces and potato starch for air frying because I find the potato starch makes things crispier. But my assumption is that it would thicken similarly to corn starch if you were to use it that way. I haven’t used arrowroot in decades.
Every time I make one of my grandma’s dishes, I am reminded of her spunky and clever nature. I miss her. Happy Sunday, Everyone! 💕
Best thing about your video is that you show the mishaps and and how you rectified it

Yummy!!! We went to my sister-in-law's for beef and broccoli stirfry and it was so good. Very much like this but she added some chili sauce/paste to it for a bit of a kick. I can't pronounce the name but it was so good.
Was it Sriracha? Or gochujang (Korean)? Probably two of the more popular chili sauce/paste.
Maybe sambal oelek?
Hi Flo & Dude! I made this dish with asparagus...ran out of broccolini. It was easy and tasty. Thanks for the great videos!

@@FloLum Thanks so much. Potato Starch when Air Frying is a great tip🏆🤩🍗
Wonderful! Wanna try this! IF I don't have chicken broth... can I make some chicken boullion?
Love this recipe but my sauce on the marinaded chicken did not stick once cooked so it tasted a little bland at the end. Any advice, Flo?
Hi Flo,Why yr wok centre is Black? Need to get a new wok!
I have bought your book, but I cannot find this recipe in the book. What name is it in your index? It's not Grandma Soy Chicken? I'm confused.
I've noticed you don't peel your ginger... do the skins just cook in and aren't noticeable?
Ok I don’t like chicken because of chikenii lol smell
So I’m gonna try ginger
Thank you
how do you make bok choy?
😋😋
I've been wondering why a lot of cooks always peel ginger ...thanks for not showing us how to peel it with a spoon...
If you clean it well, you don’t have to peel it.
Dude is right... there is no such thing as too much flavor.
Where us the recipe???❤
