$ERIOUS DOLLAR$!!! So greateful to you to have taken the time to make this video. I will save ton$ because of you. I don't owe you a beer for this but a whole meal and a case of beer! You are great, take good care and some holiday time in RPI😁
Kimberly was awesome to work with and very responsive via e-mail regardless of the time of day or night that we had questions. We are very happy with our purchase and the process through campground membership outlet. Highly recommend them to anyone looking at TT.
She seems so tired of explaining this information but every time I see her in someone's video I get even more information than the last. You really get SO much with a T.T. membership. Thanks for hosting guys! **outtakes at the end!! XD Keeping it real! I love it!!
Great & Informative Video! We have been TT members for 4 years and we wish all this good information would be a secret but then again TT wouldn't be there for us if it didn't have customers. What perplexes us, is that save for one other full-timer that we know, the discussion is always which upgrade is the best? What we have done is just buy the camping pass which is the normal dues every year that the upgrades pay (unless it is frozen). For instance, this year we threatened to terminate our camping pass contract (which we do every year and every year TT gives us a deal). So, with the zone pass for three zones (SE, SW, NW) + Trails Collection it cost us total $790. We go park-to-park TT because we rarely stay more than 4 days, and if we do, we boondock for 7 days. The 60-day reserve period is no problem for us. We have averaged well over half the year in TT/Encore parks so our cost is always less than $5 per night. So we don't see why the upgrade passes are so preferred. BTW, your blog on this is excellent, and anyone thinking about buying should use the links off that page, whether they are buying new or used.
I don't impress easily, but you 2 just Rocked!!! the TT resale membership topic with this video! Thanks to yours and other RV related YT channels to getting the REAL word out on Resale TT memberships. And an absolute YES, Kimberly at CMO Rocks!!!! She's an Angel.
Excellent interview. Very overwhelming but this helps a great deal. Important to clearly understand your membership once decided and purchased. It is obvious that Kim really knows her stuff!
Ray and Jason, thanks so much for this informative interview with Kim from Campground Membership Outlet. We purchased a used platinum from CMO and Kim made the entire process seamless. She patiently answered my myriad of questions and helped walk us through the process. I learned even more from your interview with her today. Thanks guys-great content!
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know of a tool to get back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me!
@Duke Fox thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
When we were considering a TT membership, we contacted Kim & Chad and they sent out the information we requested. We would have gone with them, but found a private seller with an Elite membership for $750. Now, this membership can't be resold, as it has already gone through that process. However, at that price, plus the transfer fee with TT, it was a no brainer for us. We will be upgrading to the Trails Collection tomorrow, as our contract is due on the 1st of July each year. We are heading up to Virginia next week and then Pa on our way to Maine before the cold weather sets back in. Hope to run into you folks along the way! Thanks for putting out these videos!
We are considering 1000 trails when we go fulltime this answers alot of our questions. Thanks for sharing all this information it is very helpful in our decision making process, Brad & Paula.
WOW! That was a lot of information about TT. My head is spinning, but I did take notes! Thank you, Rae & Jason, for providing the information!! You guys rock!
I know this is old, but still that was awesome information and this is a second interview I seen with Kim, so definitely will use her if and when we decide to get a full membership as I'm already an RPI member thanks guys. Lele fr: Cali 🌞😎 & if we do I will let her know you guys referred us👍🏽
So she’s the go to person to help us buy a TT cause we’re gonna be going full time in about 2 years waiting on our girls to graduate and head to college. We’re planning and down sizing as time gets closer.
When I attended a TT membership "explanation" at a TT park in 2016, the membership specialist said that you have to read the contract to see what you have. At that time there were 137 legacy membership types. As a long term TT member this video is a good overview of memberships. The exact membership can vary. The Elite mentioned on this video is the Elite Basic with 120 day reservation window. I now have the Elite Connections with 180 day window for reservations. I can say that prices have surely gone up in the last 10 years for used memberships. For this full time traveler using 30 dollars per night as a typical number for a stay, I have saved $56000 dollars over the cost of all my TT memberships starting with a zone pass and then upgrading twice to Elite connections and all of my dues over those years. TT is fantastic only if you use it.
Thanks to your videos and this interview in particular I just sent off an email to Kim looking for resale membership possibilities!! I did mention you folks of course. ;-)
Guys this a great! One thing I'm curious about because I do devops 8-5 flexible is with the TT and Encore parks what are the percentage of those you haven't been able to get workable internet service (assuming two cell plans ver/att and then wifi). I know Jason does tech. I don't need much (RDP, command line, etc) but this has been a lingering question since we haven't actually done it. We are targeting next summer to sell our house and hit the road. Thanks again for all you guys share!
Just watched your video and have to say a big thank you for airing this. We have debate about joining Thousand Trails and this info has helped us immensely if we do join we will absolutely let them know that you "sent" us. Also a big thank you for ALL of your videos I hope you know how much you are helping all of us RVer's with all of the information you share. May you always have Happy Trails. Terry and Louise
Hi guys, great video!! We are a TT member, but I still found this video with nuggets of information I didn't know. Thanks for putting it together with Kim. Question for you - do you have a contact regarding the condition of some of the campgrounds? I was wondering if they are working to upgrade some of the older ones that need sprucing up and fixing electrical connections. Example; Lake Whitney in Texas. Almost every other site had bags covering the electrical box that was out of service. Have you found a campground like that? It would be an interesting video if information like that could be obtained. Just a little food for thought. Thanks for reading. ~Janice~
that would be a great thing to know but I suspect the only way to get current is when people stay and do online reviews line campiendum and such. The resorts are not I believe going to take the time to make that info available for the most part. Unfortunately it goes back to the lack of funds most of these place are subject to and in some cases they just don't care to let you know they are having problems or in come cases doing needed upgrades..
Very informative, most of the time how about the 60, 90, 120 reservations does it matter? Thinking a 120 days out is a long time in advance and things change.
There are many options that do not have to be full upgraded lifetime memberships. Feel free to email me and I will help get over some info to you Kimberly@membershipoutlet.com
As an example. If you purchase a $3000 life time membership and have a $600 a year fee -- Given the average rv park charges$50 per night you would need to stay 24 nights a year to recoup a 5 year pay back
Can someione please let me know if camping vans and cats are allowed in general. What do I need to know about this? Many people have camping vans and cats. Maybe making a video about this would be good for your channel while helping us.
Great review. Unfortunately I had a poor expedience with organized camping. It was not a TT membership. I found that the affiliate parks did everything they could to keep other members from other parks OUT! OUR membership was permanent. Meaning you were legally bound to pay dues whether or not you used it. It was like a time share. Gave it away and saved the new owner $$. Many Park owners went bankrupt leaving members high and dry Want to camp? Join the Army and get paid to do it! In my case I found that the CG owners could make a better deal for new members even if I gave it away!!! How!!! The CG owners could offer free dues or other perks if bought from them without transfer fees!! The present owners pay the transfer fee. So I gave it away. In addition some park owners will only allow newer Rigs in their park! Some even want a text of your rig to determine if it is usable.
Have you had much trouble booking 120 days in advance? Are you always successful getting into the resort (trails collection) when booking that early? What about 90 days advanced, is that too late to book an get in?
It varies so much between location and time of year. The earlier you can plan ahead the better, but there are always last minute cancellations as well. We have gotten in last minute thanks to some of those.
Thanks so much for the information. My husband and I just stared RV life last March 2020. We did buy a 6 mo. Staying Iowa from April-October. October 15 to March 2022. In October 10 thought April 15.2022. Any help you could would be greatly appreciated Laura

I was told today that when buying it new that the Trails collection add on is increasing in price from $214 to $299 on January 1, 2020.
Good to know, we haven't heard that.
So when you buy a resale for $3000 or so is that what you have to pay every year ? And the one that was $13000 again is that per year?
