I rent cars regularly and ended up with GC Laredo for a week similar to this a few months ago. What I liked about it was that everything is pretty straightforward. No turbo, no CVT, gauges are easy to read, controls are very logical and easy to use.
The gearing and the motor set to the transmission is great. Not sure why everyone complains about the V6. It’s plenty and it works. The grand Cherokee is very nice and drives great. Have tons on the road up here in the Midwest. Great vehicle!
Some people complain that the V6 engine is not powerful enough, but they don't think about the fact that this car is an SUV, not a supercar. SUVs have a high drag coefficient.
They are very nice. I looked at one and they're pretty impressive and the drivetrain is solid and reliable. Just do oil changes at no more than 5,000 miles and service the trans, transfer case and rears at 30,000. We have a 2018 Cherokee High Altitude Limited with AWD and the little 2.4 Multiair and it's been perfect; zero problems since new. I am really picky about maintenance as I was an aircraft mechanic in the service and know the importance of keeping on top of maintenance.
I had that engine/ trans combo in my 2015 Ram 1500 4x and it was an excellent powertrain...NEVER had any issues and would not have sold it, but I needed a 3/4 ton truck...
They are planning on using the hurricane inline on upper models. Not the HO version. That would make this very peppy. The summit reserve is amazing. The GCL with the penta is a little sluggish. We have the Hemi and love it. The next vehicle in my family’s lineup is the Grand Wagoneer series 3. We need the room. Too much golf stuff to pack in a GC. The GCL not enough power. The introduction of the SO Hurricane will definitely help
At 89,000 miles the pentastar in my 2015 Grand Cherokee had the famous tick. One camshaft was destroyed by a bad lifter. I changed the oil every 5100 miles using the recommended oil - under the valve covers, the engine had no sludge. First time a car that I owed and maintained had a mechanical problem. Has Stellantis fixed the pentastar. I highly doubt it.🤬
Yes, there are no more of those issues with the Pentastar. Early models, it was quite common, but not anymore. The newer generation Pentastar came out in 2018 in the Grand Cherokee.
@@tomcordes1768 my friend has high miles on his and his oil is super clean at 3k when oil gets changed. Doesn’t even burn a drop. Newer versions are amazing.
The GC is still mostly based on the Mercedes W164/ML platform from the late 1990’s.still a solid design, but. Can’t say the same for build quality, unfortunately like all know.

@Chuffmaster654 even tough it is but you are no one to dictate I would nor buy it o would buy a hyundai or subaru over any car company. Toyota and hondas are overpriced, have no features and small screen 7 and 8inch screens are not acceptable in 2024

No jeep is a bargain. It could have a catastrophic failure as soon as you drive it off the lot. Any money spent on these vehicles is wasted. They practically have no resale value. I mean, they can’t even sell new ones to anyone who knows anything about cars.

The 4 cyl engines have not been the greatest but pentastar engine has actually been pretty good.

Owned one Laredo and one Limited years ago before I went to full size trucks. Never had a problem with either Grand Cherokee.

The Pentastar is the last good Chrysler/Stellantis engine
@@jay315-z5k straight 6 will be so much better.
I remember back in the 1990s when a lot of Yuppies drove Grand Cherokees. It was mostly BMWs, Acuras and Grand Cherokees for young adults with money.
Some sold for 32k on sale
i have a 23 limited no idea why not selling. they did everything rite looks good perfect size fantastic interior

This or BMW X7, Audi Q7, Mercedes GLS, Tesla Model X, GMC Acadia, & Lincoln Aviator, Right?
Stellantis car reviews are click bait for me. I’m entertained with all the negative comments.
Negativity is the new normal with people. Mostly because they still can’t afford it.
I bought the E model for $46,000 at 0 percent interest, great deals
Avoid the air suspension
I like my 2021 limited
If reliability is improved in 25, It is a great SUV.
Emphasis on “if”
They should have gone with a column shifter like the new GM SUVs.
What brand were you selling cars for? I'm down south in Provo and enjoy seeing all the local dealerships in your videos!
Much better than the Dodge Hornet.
Jeep built a great off road suv

Not this new WL generation. It's an all new chassis, not at all related to the old Mercedes platform.

Millions of them out there with no issues. GM and Ford have more issues.
