I really like Poundland Cathedral City Cheese mini squares. Also their twin packs of Tiramisu desert pots are yum. Rice Krispie chocolate squares. The vintage looking glass bottles of Tonic Water are another fave and taste gorgeous, and the bags of apples aren't bad either. Also anything Milka related is always a big hit with me!🤗
I would not have survived this without bring able to make my own tea and coffee alongside! Huge well done for not drinking the gin, the cocktail looks amazing
Well we really didnt get to see what food they had. We have Dollar tree, and that used to be my grocery store until most have next door a Grocery Outlet next door or nearby. A discount grocer. But dollar store always had canned food and dry goods aisle. So you could get tomato sauce sphagetti sauce rice pasta, mixes, sauce mixes and dip mixes. You should have got popcorn. And i used,to buy candy there. Then they added refridgeration and they started carrying cheese and lunchmeat. They had a daily bread shelf with really good bread. Mayo amd Mustard, Pickles you got a great sandwich. But then they got a meat case and offered whole chickens, pounds of hamburger and ground turkey. Prepared bbq ribs. And more. But we have 1 only 1 99cent store and it is like 1, 2, 5 $ store, but in the back it goez full grocery mini market, with produce fridge and freezer. Not 99 cents tho.
I think you should both do this with other stores too. I think I would have chosen hotdogs and noodles, fray bentos pie and tinned potatoes or mash and stewing steak. A pack of coffee sachets and maybe porridge too. Oh I think I’d have enough for two days with all that x
Mr Carrington Maybe home bargains. Another option is meals only using supermarket brands or doing a shop for £10 (supermarket brands) and donating it to a food bank. You may be surprised by what you can buy x Sorry my head is full of ideas haha x
The staff in Greenock where I live are super friendly, and get involved with seasonal festivals, but as you're trying the sunbites crisps the sweet chilli ones are tasty but the sour cream ones not so much, but do try frijj chocolate milk it does taste chocolatey and not have that powdered aftertaste that others have, I could go on but you're a busy man and I shouldn't delay your hunting( that's an in joke in our family when shopping)🌵🌵🌵🌵😁

Fray bentos pies are in a league of their own. You NEED to experience at least once in your life, if not many times. I prefer something less processed nowadays but have had many happy moments tasting the unique delights of a Fray bentos pie. The strange pastry is the best bit ...... go on .... you know you want to ...... 😀

Things picked up for you after the gym. I loved your walk through the park on the way to the gym. Oooh, my! That odyssey trying to purchase your food was truly bizarre. I think that for being rushed and hassled you made some good choices. I need my tea so I am not sure I could get on as well as you did. Does Poundland sell tea? I liked the porridge pots from Kate's video. I like eggs for breakfast most mornings. It keeps the hunger at bay for a bit longer than porridge alone. I liked your chicken tikka and Kate's pasta. The real challenge is dealing with rude staff 😂 I always found Dollar tree and Dollar store the counterpart of Poundland in Chicago are most accommodating. I’m sure there are like incident here too or even worse! Nice video Mr. C!
Loved the video idea, even if some of the meals seemed really bland. I reckon you need to try it again with a better stocked Poundland (and more time!), and giving a good attempt at doing a more balanced diet for the day. Maybe try it in a b and m or home bargain's where there's more of a variety for fruit and veg. 👍
In any shop I have ever worked at, we would never be allowed to behave in a rude manner to a customer, we always let customers complete their shopping, no matter if it was closing time. You were very unlucky there! 😱
In japan the can do food which is equivalent of a poundshop except it costs 70p! And is awesome, we are in the in the middle of moving and it puts Poundland to shame. They need to come over and learn how to run a discount store ! We are bringing back two suitcases full for my parents.

Sorry about that Manager pestering you. It sounds like the Manager I saw in Poundland in Canterbury a few years ago. One item I bought was £2 and the stock was placed in the £1 aisle by mistake and I only realised when I got to the till. I queried it and the Manager said he'd check for me. After 2 minutes I thought he was taking his time as it wasn't that far away and I thought I'd check myself, only to find him moving the entire shelf over to the £2 section. When he was done he turned round and saw me. He told me "I was "wrong" and it was in the £2 section all along. I was disgusted and utterly livid that he would do that and then lie to my face about it. I told him that "I just watched him move the entire stock over." He just shrugged like he didn't care. At that I put my basket down and said: "Well, have fun putting my items back. I'm taking me shopping elsewhere." I didn't go back to that store for a least 2 years. The Margate Poundland is much better anyway.

I've worked in retail and it's so annoying when you get a customer that doesn't want to leave , the high street store I was in had 3 floors and nobody could go or cash up till the last person had left the store ,,,, but the manager could have been a little bit nicer xx

I understand your frustration at Poundland staff hustling you out at closing time but I also get it from their point of view too. They are more than likely paid by the hour and will not get paid after 7.p.m when the store closes. There may even be an issue with the electronic till having to be switched off at a certain time. Dealing with the general public is often a harsh and thankless task so maybe we should forgive them. There are some bad staff in some stores - there are always good and bad wherever you go! great vlog though Mr C.xx

Sadly Poundland is an awful place, I worked for them last year lets just say when I left it was a weight off my shoulders, its a bad company to work for and the shop I worked in customers were very rude, even aggressive, the only nice ones were the older customers who loved a little chat, if u knew some of what I knew about Poundland and how they treat their staff it would be an eye opener, needless to say after I moved on from them ive never shopped in one since and never will give them my money again, sad too as I loved the shop before I worked for them, my family wont shop with them either.

Good effort. I buy tins of stew steak for the pantry, dried fruit, nuts n seeds and 3 cans of pop for a £1 for work locker.

I've worked in retail and it's so annoying when you get a customer that doesn't want to leave , the high street store I was in had 3 floors and nobody could go or cash up till the last person had left the store ,,,, but the manager could have been a little bit nicer xx

I understand your frustration at Poundland staff hustling you out at closing time but I also get it from their point of view too. They are more than likely paid by the hour and will not get paid after 7.p.m when the store closes. There may even be an issue with the electronic till having to be switched off at a certain time. Dealing with the general public is often a harsh and thankless task so maybe we should forgive them. There are some bad staff in some stores - there are always good and bad wherever you go! great vlog though Mr C.xx

Sadly Poundland is an awful place, I worked for them last year lets just say when I left it was a weight off my shoulders, its a bad company to work for and the shop I worked in customers were very rude, even aggressive, the only nice ones were the older customers who loved a little chat, if u knew some of what I knew about Poundland and how they treat their staff it would be an eye opener, needless to say after I moved on from them ive never shopped in one since and never will give them my money again, sad too as I loved the shop before I worked for them, my family wont shop with them either.
