- I have gotten several requests for this song. It's zohar002's piano arrangement of "Corridors of Time" from Chrono Trigger.
Watch him play it here: • Video
Another song that was requested. The song is from Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections, and it's called "The other Promise".

The program used to make this clip was Synthesia and it's recorded with fraps. Synthesia is the piano equivalent of guitar hero.

can you imagine how much of a musical genius you would have to be in order to write this?
It's not musical genius per say. The way composition works, this song comes from other songs and chords learned by the composer. Mostly in the early stages of acquiring music theory.
@@minoswang2574 of course then do it yourself -.-
@@minoswang2574 debbie downer
@@wrelowits actually right....
not a music expert but i've seen lots of people including my relatives do stuff like this while learning music theory
@@shin-vs2rzYeah, I like...uhh, write award-winning compositions every day on the toilet and stuff
With only 7 months of piano experience and a couple months of practise I can finally play it! I'm proud :D
You Learn Well Then!
Hahaha, I made that comment 7 years ago... I gotta add that i seriously injured my hands in the process. How naive I was. I'm fine now and mostly focused on jazz piano, but this piece is what really sparked my interest in the instrument. Lesson learned: don't try to learn something really hard if it's way above your level, no matter how much you want to😂
@ You started piano around the same time I did then.
I started in April 2012. And I was just like you, playing pieces like this just months in. Needless to say, I have also learned the same lesson.
When I played things before I was ready, a lot of times I ended up butchering it in some aspect. Be it the timing, accuracy, tone or overall quality.
These years have taught me that playing piano is not just about hitting the right notes. There is so much more that goes into it.
@@Joyblossom2010 well said!
@ wait you can injure your hands by doing this? Huh can’t wait til I get my hands on my own piano!!!
Listening to this gives me emotions I didn't know I had.
This is a pretty advanced piece. Jazzy rhythms like these are not something to start off with.If anyone is looking to get into piano you're better off learning another piece first, and then, after several years of a lot of practice you can give this one a crack.
Adrian Arenas This is the first full song I learned how to play. Took me 3 months to learn, but I got it!
Enigmater14 Nice! If you love a piece enough and want to play it badly enough I guess anything is learnable. I'd love to learn to play this too. Someday soon I'll give it a go
Enigmater14 man i don’t think I’ve learn a song fully in my time or playing piano. It’s rare I love a song equally in all parts so I just learn the main melody and improvise.
Such as this song’s main melody in the original with the sitar and the intro and piano parts are my favorite portions
It's not impossible to play the song !
Play the video at 0.25x speed first .. go in short sequences ..
Play the same sequence again and again .. a day, a week if you have to ..
Then continue the next sequence ..
It's all in the fingering .. once you've familiarise with the fingering you'll get the hang of it !
You can do it !! 😊
Remember:
Some notes play before other notes , some notes play together with other notes ,
Some notes play after other notes ..
Understanding this simple concept makes practising much easier
Thank you for the tips!! :D
@@PrismaPup7 good luck ! 😊👍🏻
you can tell when a composer puts their heart and soul into their music, it shows here and I love it.
For about 8 months now I've had an injury in both my hands for playing this song on the piano too much. I guess I couldn't handle the awesomeness of it... I can't wait till I can play this song again.
Aww man :< (i know this post is old, but hope you're better!)
You played too much so god punished you
@@Abc-tx4zrwhy would god punish someone passionate
@@slav_xpxz jesus was passionate
@@Abc-tx4zr he wasnt punished, he died for our sins
What I love about this song is the fact that the melody is in the left hand, while the harmony is in the right hand, I think that there are too many songs that are vise versa
Several years after listening to this, im yet to find another piece as beautiful as this...
Kinda crazy to see people from 8 years ago still commenting on this video to this day
The music is good _beyond_ _the_ _limits_ _of_ _time_ ⏳
i’ll start learning this today after visiting it over and over for a year :p it’s so pretty
I literally cannot convey how much I want to learn this song and play for my best friend
8 years later have you done it 😶
I remember a year ago looking at this and saying, " This doesn't look that hard".
Sits at piano, realizing how hard the syncopation is.
Anyways, beautiful song, great showy piece for anyone's repertoire.
Arghhhhhh!
It's SO frustrating! I love this song, but I can't play it! Not even small parts of it!
I needed a professor just to teach me this song and I'm done, this is the song that made me start to play, and I won't mind if it's the last one I'll ever learn, as long as I learn the damn thing!
When I finally learn this, I can die in peace!
The key to any instrument is never giving up. No matter how hard it is, or how long have you been practicing, you'll eventually make it. NEVER, EVER, IN YOUR LIFE, STOP PRACTICING THIS. NO MATTER HOW HARD. I PROMISE YOU YOU'LL MAKE IT.
How was it? By the time I read your comment, I only knew how to play 10 seconds. Now I can play the whole song!
that's the spirit
Sugurain Q
This was 3 years ago. Have you learned it yet?
I was listening to this just now when I started watching the steam billow out of my mug of tea. All the little water droplets were caught in the light of my lamp, and I found it fascinating to look at... and then, I realized that if I looked hard enough, it looked like the steam was dancing to this song.
It was so awesome.
Probably the best video game soundtrack of all time
I have been learning this song for a while and I must say, the most difficult and stressing part is getting used to the rythm and style.
I once gave up, but now I will not.
Thank you for the midi.
Damn bro.....i just cried.....and i was very happy listening to this song...
Goddamit. You went and made me fall in love with a song.
wow, this is fun to play, especially in the left hand
one of the very few songs that i find so moving. video game music
I've never played Chrono trigger yet this song feels nostalgic
this sounds amazing
All songs look harder than they are. It's just a matter of forcing the muscles in your fingers to respond by memory rather than responding to learning. It comes with time and true effort.
Oh My Goodness! My long search for a tutorial for this song has come to an end!!
Such a timeless classic
@Raviex1 its the overworld music for the floating kingdom in 12,000 BC, one of the only overworld locations that's only available for a very limited time, so its understandable that it might be hard to remember.
Did you play and record this? It is awesome, I can't stop listening all Chronotrigger's soundtrack. Thanks a lot, I'm building precious memories with them.
it sure is a chrono trigger song but this piece is arranged by Zohar002.
As soon as I get better at playing the piano/keyboard I WILL learn this song and many other video game themes that my mother enjoyed playing so I can play it for her birthday one year ^^
Man, sucks they don't make video game music like this anymore... all the newer generation never knew what they missed out... so sad...
Yep. I cried. Love this song.
Amazing
I love this sound!
this song looks very fun to play, one day I hope to learn it
That's cool :o some offbeat parts and stuff. Love this
I'm gonna learn this song I will never QUIT
Can you play it now?
yesss!!!
+RACKETYGAMER. Me too! Totally worth it
How long have you guys been playing piano? I think I need more experience...
Took me about 2 weeks of non stop practice. NON. STOP.
It's a steep learning curve, but you can do it. I'm learning this now, and it's quite challenging. So is Bloody Tears, but that is a better learning song so I have been spending time on that.
So at 0:39 there is a spot where you hit octave C#'s in the right hand but how did you manage to hit a D with a B almost 2 octaves above it? Your nose?
I use the big toe on my right foot.
beasterbunny217 pedal then just press the key normally
JustASlag Wait, I just realised... How are you using your right foot when your right foot is pedaling? Or did you mean left foot?
Z0LSTICE I'd like to know as well
I think nose is better.
@laurensvr777 if u got the sheet music it will tell u when to use the right hand only at some parts. usually the three notes that are grouped together, but any note with a bracket is played with the right hand when it is in the bass clef and vice versa....but god dam is it worth it. never get sick of this tune
Why does this song have to be so pretty, now all I want to do is learn it and impress my friends XD
Im going to do this. I shall be back in a little while with my progress.
Subbed, love this stuff!:)
@Zeuts85 Whether you're telling the truth about it's difficulty or not, you just got me inspired to learn the piece. I'll either love you or hate you in the next couple weeks XD
Oh this is way better to look at than that horridly confuffling sheet music for this @.@. The piece still isnt a cakewalk but at least its more accessible now. Thanks a bunch Mr.Moes =D!!
Can't wait to write this :)
That was so awesome!
perfect for my chillout Sunday :)
Thanks for the sheets man, you rock! :)
@blade7o It's set to automatic. I haven't learned to play this yet.
can someone explain to me how I would do this part? 0:11 - 0:12
this is a fun song to play. i recommend everyone give it a try and it is not as hard as it seems
F sharp minor ballad. Beautiful
Epic! You needed to do this! Thx!
@typingfreak1 PC. OR you could use the search bar at the top of your internet browser, click the blank margin, use your computer's keyboard to type in the word 'Synthesia', and hit the 'Enter' Key, also known at the 'Return' key. This will cause your computer screen to go blank momentarily, then the screen will display a number of results. Using the scroll function, via keyboard or mouse, you can sift through these 'search results' to find your answer... But I think it's on the PC.
UR SO GOOD AT PIANO
0:19
beautyfully performed
very easy to learn this i played it in five min thanks and i never played this song before
I have a Roland digital piano. All of the advantages of a keyboard and it sounds as nice as a real piano with the functionality of a real piano as well.
The two blue notes that hit the board at the same time at 0:28... How big are your hands suppose to be??
You use pedal so you don't have to have your hands on both notes at the same time.
Pedals won't bend time to let you play a chord that is too big.
You have to use your right hand to play the higher note of the left hand, it's only an octave away, perfectly doable, That note should be green (right hand) imo.
Shit you think that's bad, look at the one at 40 seconds lmao. no time to play the top note with the right hand since it's already busy as f
I know this is old but the first note is hit before hand so just sustain it and slide your hand down to the other.
Faggy Labrynth K thx
okay, i'm done, i finished learning it
@laurensvr777 The D should be one octave higher. So D+B with the left hand and C# octave with the right hand.
I got a 61 and it works fine, you are limited to certain songs, but most of them are songs which are going to be too difficult if you are just starting.
True, but that's why I got both, to see what it sounds like but in different sounds.
Who??? Who dislikes this????????????? Most legendary video game title of all time and it gets disliked???????
If this is what our future generation dislikes, then we're all fucked.
Beautiful~
New purpose in life: Learn to play this. And every other Chrono Trigger song. And Legend of Zelda. And and and.... kay, that's enough for now...
My ultimate goal as a pianist is to learn this, eventually.
Hows the progress buddy?
Cameron Farnsworth Oh, well I actually stopped learning it right after I posted this comment. I do hope to learn it eventually, but it still eludes me. I might get a piano teacher to help me learn this because its difficulty.
I learned three other songs instead, and those went great. Thanks for asking!
On second thought, I think I'll tackle this over the summer, I have nothing better to do.
haha good luck , i've just started , but it's quite difficult ... ^^
Tyriis Oh, lol, I never learned it. I learned 4 of Chopin's nocturnes instead. But I think I'm almost ready to learn this! I can finally get the first couple of seconds. The hard part is the glissandos.
Amazing midi! Since you've done a couple of Zohar's arrangements, any chance you're working on Zohar's "Shevat, the Wind is Calling" from Xenogears? It's another amazing piano arrangement by Zohar that a midi file still isn't available for (although sheet music is). I HIGHLY request that one if it hasn't made it on your list of projects.
This was amazing :)
just pretty good
Magnific
who knew a game about an endless loop could have timeless music ha
When i'm actually able to play this, i'll feel as if i had won life.
..... and now I am attempting to learn the other chorno trigger/cross songs zohar has made, and shevat the wind is calling
To tell you the truth the other songs are less difficult than this one.
If you cant play this song try the other ones
I can very roughly do the first 30 seconds, getting there haha
look at the bottom of the video. the green bar is racing the red bar.
i would love to see chrono series reboot
Can someone upload the MIDI file again?
Amazing song. Definitely love the left hand part. Slow version would be nice though...
Oh. My. Fucking. God. ¡That's brilliant! *w* I really love this song... :)
This song sounds better on the piano then it did on the game.
Was it really necessary to have such complex chord patterns? I might very well have to learn to read sheet music in order to play this. Learning by ear is too strenuous for this song.
This is gonna take me a month to learn this lol.
1:57 .___. I'm stuck...
Are you referring to the run?
Yes ;^; ... I kinda improvised that part and got the end now.. but still...
Just practice the run alone, very very slowly. When you can play it from memory several times in a row cleanly, ramp the speed up a little bit. Repeat until you reach the full tempo.
If you're the kind of person that wants to sit down for hours on end until they get it down, make sure to take at least 10-30 minutes of a break (where you do nothing at all for at least 5 minutes to reset your brain).
If you just practice it for a little bit every day it still shouldn't take you much longer than 1-2 weeks to get to full speed though. It's a simple and short run after all.
Also, note how it is just the same four notes repeated and then figure out two or three hand placements that allow you to minimize the movement between the octaves (whatever feels comfortable to you).
I want to learn how to play piano just so I can sit in some cafe or restaurant somewhere and play this fucker in public and make everybody realise the Beauty of JRPG's
I think this is doable for me. I will learn this song after I’m done a song I’m already learning. I will learn at least 1 minute of it. 0:00 to 1:25
Hey all, I would appreciate it dearly if anyone could link me to the MIDI file that has the left and right hands split. The one available for download is only one single "hand" so to say. Thanks, I enjoy the content put out for all of us!
@kamborambo I have uploaded the midi, link is in the description.
Hauntingly familiar without ever having heard it before, odd
Steps to learning this song:
1. Take a sharp blade and cut down the middle of your left hand(This will allow for wider reach on the piano (: )
2. After the first part with your right hand, quickly stitch it back up
3. ..
4. Profit.
this is like, classical quality.
I cried, I pondered, I repented.
@Zeuts85
exactly the same thing here... that's why I finally bought headphones.
first 10 seconds: alright, sounds playable( then sees all the notes coming down) crap, nevermind. Sounds great though! love it
This is beutiful
any one else have problems getting the midi file for this?
@butterfingersman You should play Chrono Trigger, it's a fantastic game.
@Zeuts85 so true :)
Now I want to freaking want to learn to play a piano ^.^
