That's a beautiful idea! Bit tricky for beginners or those not sure of line art skills but I would encourage those people to give it a go!

You can do these at home with Sharpies and/or highlighters too, right?
Ya she did a video where she did the same look and used markers and rubbing alcohol.

I found that the off brand sharpies work soooo much better
@@floridagirl386 really? I have brand name ones and I've really struggled to get them to look anything approaching good. Maybe I should try the off brand ones. Do you use them over a shiny top coat or matte?
@@Nails_By_Kimberlee I'd say shiny, but it's just a guess. Matte has texture that would probably make it difficult to have the ink flow well.

One thing with working with liner brushes, is that it's really easy to get a bit of a blob at the beginning of a line. One thing that I like to do when making more organic style lines is to start in the middle of where you want your line, do one half of your line, then go back through the blob in the other direction to complete your line. Granted, I've never used that technique with nail art, but it works really well with thicker paints, like acrylics or oils.

I was trying to figure out why I love these videos so much. I think all of them are fantastic. Today it hit me why- your calm demeanor, and gentle way of explaining what you are doing reminds me so much of the way the Mr. Dressup would explain his art, and it always brings me back to a sense of childhood simplicity and calm.

Everyone I've seen do these type nails really prefer to do it on a matte top coated white. They say the effects are much better on the matte. I've finally got some of the inks and am going to experiment till my hearts content with it! I'm excited for this one!

They're cute. However I am completely turned off by Enailcouture after he called a small creator ratched after she showed that her 123 go nails bent. Not once, but several times Max called her ratched. He completely disregarded her review based on her subscriber/view count.

These are STUNNING!
Copic markers work wonderful for this. There's even a plain alcohol pen for fading/erasing the colour. Using it on the nail works great as well. I do notice the inks you are working with tend to stay in their "line" especially the purple. The Copics tend to "puddle" once alcohol is introduced, especially if using alcohol on the brush.

I really like the effect when there was alcohol on the nail and the next application of ink spread out when it touched it. That effect really copied watercolor. A lovely end result.
