One of the reasons I really like the Ghosts 'n Goblins series is that it's one of the very few games with a medieval setting that isn't an RPG or dungeon crawler and I think this OST is the best example of that.
Unlike the one from its predecessor, where it blasts loud as hell "BOOO!! YOU LOST! EVERYONE IN THIS BUILDING MUST KNOW HOW MUCH YOU SUCK AT LIFE" Then you can't continue playing for much longer because everyone will just hear that sound over and over

I'm not sure what you call them in music terms but those notes that feel like they're off really adds to the desperation and anxiety in the music, they sound as if two adjacent notes are playing together at the same time and the score has a lot of them.
PS2 version is the PS1 version emulated, and from listening to and playing both (I own both compilations for both consoles, Cap Gen 2 PS1, Cap Classics Collection 1 PS2, as well as Cap Gen 2 on Saturn), the PS1, and PS2 versions, are spot on with the arcade music. The Switch version is a direct emulation of the arcade version, and pretty much sounds like the PS1, PS2, Saturn, Sharp X68000, and arcade versions. The only different sounding ones are the Genesis and PC Engine versions.
Apparently, this sound track plays when Lucifer is defeated. It never plays and is considered an unused track. Interesting bit to hear once you defeat the last boss.
4:10 i love este songo
So do I!
Thank you very much for this channel! ;-)
Game soundtrack lovers deserve a place like this where listen to our favorite tunes without ingame sounds.
04:15 OMG love this tune 🎶
7:14 absolutely BRILLIANT! Capcom composers never fail at taking you to hopelessly dark places and showing you beauty within them....
That boss theme is absolutely sick, specially the phrasing juxtaposition, the intensity... awesome!

I love how gentle the game over theme is. "You gave it your best shot, you had your fun, time to give it a rest."

This game was dark souls before dark souls came out

それにしても…音色がオルガン調で雰囲気出てますよね。
23:32 Really brings the medieval fanfare when you rescued a damsel in distress from an evil demon. 😬
Lucifer's castle ❤

dissonance, and you're basically spot on with what it is
The Crystal Forest Theme makes me think of alien belly dancers for some reason.😳

It's music is poor on PS2, but arcade perfect on Switch.

ADAM'$$$$ FAMILY HERE!!!!!!!!!
Curious, 18:16, where in the game does that play in? I heard this in the Genesis version as well. Probably an unused tune?
Thats true...where ia this song in the game?

Good music!!
genesis version ? cps1 ?
Cps1
This is Famicom, right? It has that extra chimyness that the NES doesn't have
No, this is the arcade version
Sweeeet 8bit version...thank you!
This would be considered a 16 bit game, not 8 bit, CPS1 hardware.
Stage 2: Dead vilage, all destroyed and ruined and infested with foul demons.
Stage 2 music: Happy village music.
