Very good my friend
Looks like you are living in Blade Runner.
My wide body configuration would be a challenge on those very narrow sidewalks, especially the ones with trees or poles in the middle of them and with constant motorcycles whizzing between you and the cars on those roads. Scary! I hope your camera has a view screen for you that shows what's coming up behind you. Doesn't appear to be very pedestrian friendly there, but I'm probably wrong. I guess I'm just a country boy at heart.
What a beautiful city!! Thank you for doing such a long and informative walk through for us! ❤
I definitely am planning on visiting! Its just a matter of when!! 😊
5:32 Condo ownership must be at least 51% Thai, 49% foreign.
Thanks
That little wow WOW aw sht sold me
Not sure what you mean
@@TheDufresnes From the ladies cleaning up outside in the beginning of the video it Was cute they was like Hey 👋
Oooh
Even though I don't drink coffee, I would definitely visit a Starbucks to drink some tea or hot chocolate and a pastry 😂!!!
You don't drink coffee!? 😯 That Starbucks was so cool looking on the outside. Shayna and I will definitely go to see how it is on the inside sometime!
No, I don't care for the taste of coffee believe it or not! 😂😂😂
Most people are shocked when I tell them, but give me a good cup of tea or hot chocolate and I am in Heaven❤❤❤!! Those chocolate covered Graham crackers at Starbucks would go perfect with some peppermint tea!! 😊
What a change of pace for you guys. I must say the amount of what I assume are internet cables on the power poles reminds me of Costa Rica, other than that no comparison!
Yes! A very welcome and refreshing change 🥰
Very true for all of South East asia, ASEAN is smart to help the entire area develop and stay strong.
สวัสดีค่ะ🙏
Hello!
What is a speakeasy please?
They are hidden bars, they were created during the prohibition
@@TheDufresnes oh ok! Thanks!!
Ya the hastings library minus the drug addicts lol
Ya haha, hastings library in its prime, not the unfortunate current state of it
@TheDufresnes so you mean when it was built because it has been a crack den for as long as I remember and I'm almost 50
It is a great work of art left to rot unfortunately
@jasonmclean2408 yup! Pretty much! 😂😂😂😂
How are your children doing with the culture and language differences? Do they go to an international school? What about gymnastics, music or drama clubs? Would it be difficult for English speaking 12/13 year olds?
Looks like a great area! I could maybe live around that Starbucks for a while. Checking out some of those hotels now. Thanks for the video, it’s very helpful.
Hey, wanna race to find that speakeasy when we get there? 😂
Ya the area around the Starbucks felt similar to Vancouver. Haha race it is! I have about 35 speakeasys saved
@@TheDufresnes awesome, it’ll be fun!
@kathysherwood3174 Yes! Can't wait! Also, FYI, if you guys do end up renting a condo in that building right behind us for a little bit, there's a Starbucks directly across the street! 😂 But it's still usual Starbucks and still stupid expensive. There's lots of other coffee around that's so good for a fraction of the price. Even in the little "Tao Bin" machines, for $1-$1.50 😂
@@shaynadufresneoh I definitely don’t plan on having Starbucks, even if they have proper cream 😂
@@kathysherwood3174 😂😂😂 There is actual coffee cream here for your coffee at home! Can you believe it?!?!
Here's my problems with Thailand, and why I still prefer Costa Rica over thailand. Maybe I'm wrong. (Just my brain spilling out)
The Language. Thai is very hard. So is Spanish. But at least CR has some English.
Time Zone. If you are timezone independant for your living! your the king. Most of us need EST, or CST. or 1 hour off. anymore than that and things don't go well. Visas. Its easy to just leave now every 6 months, or buy a place for $150K. Boom you can get residency. In Thailand its not as easy. Proximely to family and friends, I know that comes up alot and I personally don't care that much, but man its a 20 hour flight to visit old friends and family. Surfing, its hard to find good surf in Thailand I bet and I'm sure its not cheap to live anywhere near where you could. Private Schools/College this is still a big issue in both countries. Rent/Food. I'm sure both rent and food is cheaper in Thailand. But in CR you can find cheaper than in Canada or the US. Women/Dating. I'm married with kids but for Single Men in there 40's or older Thailand is a heaven from what I've heard. Shopping. I do like amazon and I also like shopping local. But for me I could give up Amazon No Problem.
Have you been to Thailand?
Language - A lot of Thais speak English, more than Costa Ricans
Time zones - yes this depends on if you work online but people do make it work.
Visa/border runs - Costa Rica is much easier now with the 180 day tourist visa, Thailand now has 60 on arrival and you can extend for 30. The new Destination Thailand Visa can get you 5 years in Thailand, multiple entry and you only have to leave once every 360 days.
Distance from Family is definitely an inconvenience here.
Surfing is boring! There are plenty of other options here for sport over what is available in Costa Rica.
Their are so many Private schools in Thailand, plenty in Bangkok and even on Koh Samui and Phuket
Rent/food - Waaay cheaper here in Thailand, you can find cheaper rent in Costa Rica but you will be living in a very rural area with no amenities around. Food has gotten way more expensive in CR not cheaper than either Canada or USA. We found stuff in Cali for less than CR. Thailand is a third of the price on most stuff.
Shopping - Until you live in CR for an extended period of time you won't understand how annoying it is trying to find certain things you need and how inconvenient it is. After 7 years it got real old.
Either way CR is better than North America but so is Thailand. They are similar in some ways but you can't really compare. Pros and cons to both when comparing to your current life.
Dude, know what you're talking about and have some actual facts before commenting.
