    Awe Vince,
    You jinxed the bit when you "Milwaukeed" it, LMAO!
    But seriously,
    I like the bit. Mostly because its red, lol.
    Let's see a comparison with the Bosch Daredevil! The original "self feeding" bit.
    Put the 2 Devils to the test?
    GO Vince!

    Good video and love the Makita! One remark: call me old fashioned but I prefer a drill driver instead of an impact driver for spade bits.

    • @ariip
      @ariip 4 роки тому

      Yes. I have always used good drills which have plenty of power. Impacts are not necessary and make wayyy too much noise. Years ago before I got into milwaukee I was using porter cable nicad 19.2 drills which were great (before dewalt bought them and cheapened them) and I used my porter drilling joist holes with paddles much faster and easier than fools with dewalt lithium impacts which were making so much noise and took longer. LOL. How pathetic I thought the dewalts were.

      Yes actually decided to try these today with my drill driver, always just popped them in the impact......never doing that again. Definitely use drill driver with these, so much faster and essentially silent!!!

    Coincidentally, (or not) the Robert Bosch company, parent company of Bosch Tools, also happens to own another company called Diablo.
    Yes it's a marketing gimmick, and sorry Vince, you fell for it. It's a set of Bosch daredevil bits rebranded and a nice paint job, so all the guys that love the Diablo stuff (myself included- they make the best sawzall blades, grinder discs, etc) will buy them.
    I wouldn't be surprised if the next thing they come out with is all the Diablo blades painted blue and packaged as Bosch.

    • @robertrada4783

      They actually do sell the standard Freud saw blades in Bosch blue in Europe. I’m not sure about the budget ones (diablo). I don’t know why they won’t do the same thing here. Then again, I don’t know why Bosch tools makes most of it’s US decisions. Something crazy I noticed... most of the “new” Diablo reciprocating saw blades showing up are obviously Scintilla/Bosch painted red....but randomly...the pruning blade isn’t. Head scratch.

    • @conantdog
      @conantdog 4 роки тому

      yeah I use their sawzall blades and their saw blades for little table saws battery-powered saws they are smooth sharp and wear well.
      I as well was sucked in by the red paint I had seen the boss was previously but I could use it so much Diablo but I went for the red ones 👀,
      I haven't taken him out of the package yet I got him this week, I guess I'll watch this video and find out how they work 👌😁 .
      Go vinman 👍

      They are actually different. I'm not sure why they make it that complicated, but I'm thinking that Diablo is speed oriented whereas Bosch may focus more on the cleanliness of the hole. That seems to typically be the way it goes with other products made by both Bosch and Diablo.

    Overall anything branded diablo seems to be better than most and a decent value for the money. It’s nice to be able to just grab something off the shelf and be pretty confident it will work well and last. I just bought a set of diablos jigsaw blades for 20$ and was blown away at how well they worked. They had a jigsaw blade that came with it that had teeth that changed direction halfway on the length (for clean cutting on both sides of a board). It actually worked better than I thought it would. Anyway, thanks for the good reviews 👍🏻

    Drop the bits from 3ft-4ft so the side spurs hit the concrete. If they round over, it's the same Bosch bits. If they don't dent then the heat treatment is better.
    Also, the rounding over of the hex shaft may be corrected by a file.

    They look exactly like the Bosch ones in shape and design... You should totally do a side by side comparison between them to see if there's any difference(s)!
    And as far as impact drivers go, their rated "no load" speed is their absolute MAX speed in any given setting. When you're actually drilling something though, the RPMs vary greatly (and are MUCH slower than rated), depending on how hard of material, the size of the bit, and whether you're pushing into it or just only letting the bit itself do all of the cutting/drilling work...
    With this type of bit they might drill even faster with a drill driver instead of an impact driver, especially if used in high speed, (because again, under load, drills won't be putting out their rated "no load" speed when actually drilling something either, but they might still stay faster than an impact driver does under the same drilling conditions), but that would be if the drill you were using has enough torque delivery to power these bits at a faster actual cutting/drilling RPM than the impact driver does...
    A side by side comparison would be necessary again, not only between the different brands, but between both types of drivers; a regular drill and/or an impact type... I forsee a good video about all of this coming up soon!... I know I'm not the only one who really wants to know!

      By using it on high rpm on a drill, would cause the shaft to damage the collar portion of the bit, hence, if it's transferred to an Impact, the collar on the impact would not hold. If you warch again, he explained immediately after it started happening.

    @josephgreenberg6046 4 роки тому

    Hey Vince, to date I have never had issues with the Collett slipping off when pulling out a spaddle bit not with the Milwaukee fuel impact or any other impact I've used.
    I noticed that you usually stop the drill, and then switch to reverse to pull the bit out.
    I usually just pull back with it still in forward as soon as I break thru the hole usually without even stopping the drill at all.
    Maybe that makes a diff?
    When you have a chance, try it my way and please let me know if you think it makes any difference.
    (If you think about what your doing, it's only got that little screw on the top, so once you broke thru the hole, it really doesn't accomplish anything to put the drill in reverse, because the screw top is on longer holding anything)

    6:56 🛑 gang, AND place Your BETS TO SEE IF the bit stays in collet when reversing from hole using the Milwaukee impact; or....slips right out.
    What ya say people ✅ or ❌? I’m going with ❌, cuz I have the 2853-20 Milwaukee impact & the diablo spade bits...so I “know” what will happen 😉
    Also, I find that even in the Bosch daredevil bits, the paint comes off....same with Irwin Soeedbors & the new diablo speedemon; eventually the nice paint job, wears away from the spaddle (would be amazing if someone figured out how to keep it all there I definitely 😉).
    Managed to pick these up over a week ago for $8.90 w/ my 10% coupon.
    Always a pleasure watching VCG Videos!
    Cheers✌🏼

    Are these exactly the same as the Bosch? They look to similar for them not to be made in the same factory.

    Soooo im not knocking them. Ive used some other spaddle bits. After drilling for a bit. You need to kick it in reverse and expel the wood chips. Then go back forward and repeat. Ive gotten bits stuck from not doing this while drilling through a sleeper for large Air handlibg unit curb to be bolted down through the roof. I own the Milwaukee yes it can slip off. But it has balls lol

    Just my observation Vince they look and perform basically almost the same as the Bosch Daredevil. That was just my observation from the video but please tell me what you think? Because I am considering buying them. And I want to know what your opinion is when it comes to Performance and lower cost. Thank you bro love you guys.

      Yes, I have the bosch. As others have said, which I thought, they are just bosch with a paint job.

    Is it just me or are spaddle bit sets being sold more and more without and included holder or organizer? I like my old cloth Milwaukee sheath that folds in half, but it seems like tool companies are making a push for loose bag/pouch style now. What do you think?

    With Diablo having so many financial agreements with the Bosch Corporation and Fein of Germany, I wonder if those are just Bosch with a red paint job. I would like to see the Hilti bits tested, because Hilti is a very independent company and to my knowledge has not copied other competitors.

    Since Bosch owns Diablo, I'm guessing this is why the Daredevils are on markdown at the HD. I guess Bosch is discontinuing the Daredevil line, perhaps?

  • @gary24752

    The problem is no where does it say you should use an impact drill to use these bits. If you use a standard drill I found it impossible to drill a clean hole.
