After some maintenance done to it, it rides nice and smooth. Quick acceleration and quite smooth on highway rides. Nice steady torque between 3k-8k rpm, a bit jerky below 3k rpm. Clutch lever is really tight to pull, so left-hand gets tired very quickly in city riding and stop-n-go traffic. The front suspension is a bit soft and tends to dive during hard braking. Overall a great value for a 1000cc bike. If getting a used one, make sure the engine oil and brake fluid are changed as soon as you buy. Cooling system tends to carry rust in them, so might want to do a through flush to clean out the rust, and replace the coolant fluid.
I have a 2001 955i triumph tiger With only 1247 original miles on it the bike sat up in the garage I pulled the fuel pump and changed the tank which I bought off ebay in great condition it happened to be lucifer orange my bike is black the orange looked good against the black I have my eyes set to buy saddle bags on ebay which happens to be the same color as the tank lucifer orange I want to powder coat the hub and spokes the same color do any one know who can help me finding some one who does that work I'm in NYC Will travel to NJ
It would be easy to just google and find a car detailer or repair shop that does powder coating, but not sure if they'd have to completely remove the engine on the frame in order to coat the frame
I had one and loved that bike it was everything I wanted it to be and I could ride for hours on it your ass would want a break before you needed gas tank was decently sized
The only thing I hate about the bike is the super-tight clutch, to a point I see the clutch and immediately feel the pain of grabbing it and using it...
@@TheGizmoGarage I don’t remember being troubled by anything on mine I bought mine off the original owner i had a 77 GS 550 inline 4 damn that was a great bike and for some reason I put a hell of a lot more ass time on that bike than anything else I owned around 40k and change no troubles ever anyway I was getting gas in my pick up and as a 78 triumph bonneville owner I had to checkout the pretty orange bike we talked about for about 5 minutes and I hear would you be interested in it my mind was like hey yes and my heart was what about old faithful at home clean her up and she shines like new and hell she was 25 at the time I went ahead and set up a ride time and let him pick the ride I can tell you right now the power alone over what I had was a deciding factor and the handling and suspension felt amazing the bike was tight the triple with its own throaty sound 108 at the back wheel I believe and after hearing wait til you see what comes with it shit he bought everything and had it set up for sport touring for his wife who just didn’t like the bike she wanted something just as new bu that she wasn’t afraid of it I got a hell of a deal and still have my triumph jacket it fit perfect I only kept it three yearyand I Sikh

Definitely! Though I've ridden a 650cc Yamaha V-Star for a while few years back, this thing pulls harder and goes faster!
Beautiful! How is it to ride? Thinking of getting one myself as well.
