    I used a light box to foil on a watercolor painting, worked great. I could see through the foil easily.

      do you think the deco transfer gel with help with the different foils?

    • @itsthelittlethingsincardma7949
      @itsthelittlethingsincardma7949  2 роки тому +1

      Hi again Holly Dawson James! I'm sorry but I'm not very familiar with everything Deco Transfer Gel can do. What I do know is the gel does work with the deco foils since like toner it is an adheasive. The only difference is the toner needs to be heated (Minc or laminating machine) to activate the adheasive, while Deco transfer gel needs to get tacky before you apply the foil... not heating needed. I'm sorry I cannot be of more help.

      Hi Queen Goben, the tissue paper I use is very inexpensive tissue paper used in gift boxes and bags. It is not shinny and very, very thin. There is no brand name on mine (it's old) but you can get it anywhere wrapping paper is sold. I don't know what stores are near you. If you have Hallmark or card stores, dollar stores or big box stores such as BJ's, Trader Joe's or Costco, you can find tissue paper there. Hi Shelia! I hope the battery operated pen gets hot enough to transfer the foil through the tissue paper. Like with everything else...electric currents deliver more consistent power. I do hope the Heatwave pen gives similar results as the electric foil quills. Still curious...keep in touch if you can. Happy Thanksgiving!

      Hi Wendy Goundrey! Thank you for your comment. I guess vellum could work if it's very thin (never tried)...but vellum is expensive as a tracing medium. If you're unsure about tissue paper and want something a little thicker, try tracing paper. I've used both and prefer the tissue paper. Have you seen my other videos showcasing the pens? @@MountainAirOrganicBeds Hi again...yes, transferring the foil is done with the pen and a bit of pressure. Please note the foil you need is Heat Transfer Foil. @itsthelittlethingsincardma7949  3 роки тому +1

      Hi craftickle! If you are foiling directly from the foil you can get some skipping...are you using a thin tracing medium between the quill and the foil? Your problem may also be the surface you have your project on. Try using a smooth piece of cardboard or cardstock underneath your project. Also wait until your quill is good and hot before you start foiling and make sure you have the correct foil. You should be using heat transfer foil. Lastly double check your port and electrical connections. Please let me know how you make out.

      Hi Juanita Braun! Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Hummmm...I really don't know since I've never used a light table or screen. What I can say is these foil will tips get VERY HOT. If the screen is glass, it may shatter, and if it's acrylic the tips may leave marks or even melt the screen. Me personally would not attemp it, but you know your equipment. Maybe you could contact the manufacturer of your light table. They should be able to tell you what the surface can handle. I'm sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Play around with them without tracing anything...just play with them until you feel you have good control with them. Then stamp or trace a simple image and as you feel more comfortable increase the images intricacies. There's a lot of practice and patience involved. Have you seen my other videos on these pens? Try both and see what gives you the result you're looking for. You have to put more pressure on tracing paper and a lighter hand on the tissue paper. Thank you again for your support and have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

  • @oneitalia2312

    Why couldn't you copy the image right onto the foil and eliminate the tissue altogether? It all looks too laborious to me....

    • @itsthelittlethingsincardma7949
      @itsthelittlethingsincardma7949  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Natalie Greco. Thank you for commenting. You can stamp on the foil but remember, the foil is not secure on the surface. It is very thin and the pressure you use can make the foil snag or slip. This would result in spotty or skipped transfers. By using a tracing medium your pen doesn't snag or catch on the foil, plus stamping on tissue or tracing paper is easier and cleaner than stamping onto the foil. That being said, try it both ways to see what would be better for you.

      @@kraemerashley88 Hi! Yes there is bleeding through the tissue paper. I used Memento tuxedo black ink to stamp onto the tissue paper and waited until the ink was good and dry before I started foiling. My suggestion would be to put scrap paper under the tissue paper when stamping. This way you won't ink whatever is underneath. Once the ink is dry it will not transfer onto the foil when foiling. It is important to wait until the ink dries because the quill pens will rip the tissue paper if it is still wet if even a little damp. I hope this helps. Let me know how you made out. Happy foiling!
