    Long wheelbase is the issue. This happens when you have kids and try to convince your wife that overlanding can be a family hobby and daily driver. No truck can be everything 😅

      Exactly why my cool Tacoma DCLB 4WD still wouldn't make it out here.
      Instead of getting a topper and all that, I sold it and got an old 4runner. I'm camping in the back of it right now. Coolest truck ever. It does anything.

      Do you think that heavier weight can also make it harder for a car to off-road? I'm just thinking that the heavier the weight, the harder the tires have to work and pull the car up the hill against gravity, but perhaps having weight is also good. Just hypothesizing

      He’s not wrong. Our modern 4x4s are big and clunky. They’re made to sell to the “tough guys” crowd. They’re luxury wannabe trucks. Modern diesels have become great for hauling, but lets not kid ourselves the high value truck market is about a look more then being useful for work and roughing the unplanned terrains.

    To be honest, this isn’t the terrain that the Raptor was built for. It is made to travel at high speeds over more desert like terrain, not for climbing up muddy hills. Its gearing and suspension isn’t set up for this. And this is coming from a Mopar fan that loves to make fun of Fords.

      Actually it’s a desert based vehicle meant for dessert like terrain. Not rock crawling or going thru rivers. High speed off road in a desert. Get the bronco raptor and you’ll have a different outcome.

      Longer wheelbase means better high speed on and off road, as well as an exponentially higher towing capacity. The extra row alone can add 3-5,000 lbs onto the towing capacity.

      @@EAGLINWRX they don’t need to be this long. All the trophy trucks are either standard cab or supercab because they are a better setup than being an entire limousine like this. Trucks nowadays prioritize a bunch of heavy and cheap “features” and interior space over the actual performance of the vehicle. If dodge and ford wanted to make the best performance trucks they would shorten the cab and remove all the extra interior crap that they pack in these.

    He didn't fail, he bottomed out because of the long wheel base which means he's truck should have been a little higher. It's like someone holding you in the air while you're trying to touch the ground with your feet.

    Automatic cars have one flaw...in manual gear you can hold clutch and accelerate full and suddenly release the clutch.your car will jump out.this feature not in Automatic cars

      ​​@@vXAnnonymousXv they're advertised as such I believe, but they're definitely more of a fancy trail-portrayed fancy road vehicle. At the very most they could probably go on some rough dirt roads, but definitely nothing like what they're doing in the video, that's for sure. Not unless they want to bend their frame. For something like this, they'd have to heavily modify the chassis/suspension. Most vehicles don't come from the factory trail-ready, at least not from what I've seen.

      Wheelbase. He high centered because of the long wheelbase. The driver isn't going to change the terrain, and the tires don't matter when they're not on the ground!

      I'm not sure if he would have made it if he didn't let off... but that was the first thing that came to mind. I see it all the time in the bush and on video - people hesitate at just the wrong time. That is different than going 'full send' or just wheeling recklessly.. but if you have momentum, use it.

      Used to pull square bodies and the ford equivalent out all the time in our 87 yota. Ain't even a straight axle lol but still humbled them fullsize boys. Our ol CJ does alright too come to think about it.

    It's not like it's a power issue. Change a few things in the suspension (stiffer shocks and a small lift kit) and put some tires on there that don't look like drag slicks and I'm sure it would do just fine!
