May I ask what glass you used for the fish basket?

I tinned seams on a lamp shade and now no matter what i cant bead a seam - the solder wont stick , i tried new flux , heat up heat down - any ideas anyone?
Are you holding the piece and fluxing as you go? Turn down your iron?
