In more than 14 years as a gamer I've never experienced something like this. Beautiful.
This game was absolutely beautiful.I didn't even run in the first sequence,I just slowly walked and took in the beauty of the game's atmosphere and the ambience of the emptiness. All the characters had a certain depth to their respective personalities. In truth, calling this game a 'Walking simulator' is the same as calling GTA V 'a driving simulator.'
It sort of is a walking simulator though? I mean not taking any of the other things it brings to the table but the majority of the game is spent walking A to B etc.
@@BigKieth420 every game can be broken down to "walk from a to b" or "point mouse on the head and click to shoot". Death Stranding is basically man vs nature, the gameplay is broken down to its most primal essence but is supported by a huge variety of gameplay loops and gadgets and equipment to navigate yourself through this bizarre world. I highly recommend playing it with an open mind because words can't do it justice.
Jim Morrison hey man I agree, I actually have completed it and enjoyed the experience. I was just arguing that you can see why people called it a walking sim because of the main mechanic in the game, there is obviously a lot more to it than that which makes the game fun and interesting but you can’t deny the walking sim part because it dominates most of the game. To be fair it’s sort of a new genre but I can see why people are miffed about ‘walking sim’ because it’s much more than just that
I fell in love with this game the first five minutes of gameplay, when the song "Don't Be So Serious" begins and you can see the amazing landscape in front of you.

@@shubhamkaul1367 Yes, trust me, the gameplay isn't the best in the world, but the story is amazing, the settings, the music are beautiful and the characters are really written very well
@@shubhamkaul1367 If you like the combat/stealth mechanics from MGS, then you’ll probably be disappointed, because this game’s primary focus is traversal and the multiplayer mechanics. You can “stealth” but it’s very difficult to do so thoroughly, and the combat is serviceable but nothing to write home about. What makes this game great though is the beautiful atmosphere, the characters/story, and for me personally I really loved the complex traversal mechanics that included everything from weight management to structure building.
@@notxvexorr4379 Do you even know where this Kojima criticism comes from? It stems from Metal Gear Solid 4, a game from 2008, and Kojima took that criticism onboard and hadn't made a game with anywhere near the sheer volume of cutscenes that game had since. If you're going to try and troll at least update your talking points from over a decade ago lmao.

Recently finished this game, and I am absolutely in love with this world. The visuals were spectacular. Soundtrack was epic. Cameos were dope, and the story was great. It certainly caters to very patient gamers, and I loved this for it. It's my second favourite game ever (after Alien Isolation!)
This game will forever have a place in my memories, during all the quarantine last year in Spain, this game was my way to forget all the bad things that was happening at that time. Superb job by Mr.Kojima.
This game lowkey made me a lot more depressed than I already am. Some of the character's stories correlate to my in real life situations (or at least I feel they represent in a figure of speech type of way), and the theme of walking in the vast openness all alone gives me the feeling that I have to keep moving on, or I'll succumb to my failures. On the other hand, this game inspires me to keep moving on, no matter how hard things can get.
I'm no stranger to depression either. I lost myself in this game for a while. The atmosphere, the music, Sam, everything in general, reflected something in me and restored a balance. A Unique experience 🌈🌧
I highly disagree, the shooter part was awful in almost every way, the BT's boss fights were incredibly bad designed and it struggled a lot to tell it's story. Yet, I find the game incredibly unique, with characters that I felt in love with, a fascinating story, the most entertaining walking I've ever had(all the mechanics surrounding exploration were phenomenal), outstanding scenarios, a really interesting world and a heartwarming message. It's not a s-tier game, but is beautiful.
@@ranzu3138 can’t agree with the first part because it doesn’t really struggle to tell its story as it’s doing it in a slow paced way, and the shooting and combat was done clunky on purpose because you need to get the character for story reasons. Death Stranding is obviously clunky on purpose. Sam's not Snake, he's not a super solider that can take on the world. This is illustrated in his movement and combat prowess, Sam's 3 hit combo is all he can do because he doesn't fight Fox hound and if his photo is anything to go by hasn't done military training in years, his floaty aiming is because hes a delivery man, a profession doesn't train you to use fire arms, his aim will even shake when shooting. Like a real human being, we have to prep Sam for the outside world, but we can't plan for everything. As for the BT fights, there not as bad as people say but they’re just over simplified to an easy degree.
@@Gadget-Walkmen I AGREE WITH YOU(the combat part), the intent is there, and it surely has merit, but is still badly designed. My issue with the combat is that it's reduced to a shitty 3rd person shooter plus the downside of DS movement mechanics. And is worse when the only one affected by the environment and movement mechanics is you. THE BITS I LIKED THO, are the ones that actually involved the core mechanics as your advantage, and should have been exploited more, for example: mules struggling to move on water, moving through buildings in BT battles and the Higgs boss battle. I really liked those bits cause these mechanics that meant trouble for you when traveling now meant a advantage over your opponent, cause you are a delivery man, and you are in your territory("you are not locked with them! THEY are locked with you"). Unfortunately, mules only have that disadvantage and rarely go into water, moving through buildings isn't required since you can just stay still and shoot the BT when it pops out(I played in hard, and that strategy still worked most of the time if I had enough ammunition), and in the Cliff battles he and his troopers weren't remotely affected by the terrain, they were bullet sponges and would laser you when spotting you. Heck, the final BT encounter was visually incredible, but I swear to God I just got onto a building and rocket the hell out of that whale for 15 minutes with barely moving. Please, hear me out, the reason I'm mad at those aspects is because DS as a game is incredible, it is incredibly invested in it's mechanics and does everything possible to approach things the most gamy and interactive way, and it's outstanding at it: the whole walking mechanics, the cargo, the online, the structures, the terrain, the whole sequence in Amelie's beach, the credits, the way to the incinerator with bb and the whole fight with Higgs (fist fight included). That's why I'm mad at most combat scenarios, cause they have purpose, but don't embrace the whole identity of DS's gameplay.
@@Gadget-Walkmen about the story, it tells it, but daaaaamn the exposition is a LOT. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't that bothered at it cause in the end it was a great story and I usually don't mind exposition, but is still not great storytelling.
One of the most beautiful games ever. And I don’t just mean how it looks. Easily one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had that.. god it makes me so sad I can’t play this again for the first time!!
This game hit with me on an whole another level. Travelling through the world, I actually took the time to explore and enjoy the view, go through the struggle of delivering cargo's in a a world where there is the death stranding that is willing to kill you. This game made me feel good, made me feel like I had a purpose in life, getting awarded to after every postal delivery. I know it's just likes that you get awarded with but it is special. Also travelling through the world, you see other porters, actual porters, real people who placed their items on the floor and across rivers to help others in which was a big help so I gave then a bunch of likes. I could go on forever about this game but i do not want to make this a long comment. All I'm saying, Kojima, well done. A great game, great visuals, great story, made me feel really good playing through it.
Anyone who just sees this game as a delivery walking sim wouldn't be able to understand how good this game is anyway. People with low attention spans. This game speaks volumes of how many people just want that quick fix with little substance. For those of us who are open to take something as it it, death stranding really rewards the player who digs deep and has patience. It's story is a work of art, its music fits its moments to perfection. This is a work of art , and a true unique experience. I'll always remember the time i had with death stranding, which is more than i can say for the shallow games that come out now days.
I cannot Thank Mr Kojima for creating this masterpiece , I will forever remember how this game overwhelmed me with lots of controls and settings , lots of important points, fighting mules , taking a leak everywhere I went , *decimating* bt's ;) , and the sorta existential nihilism I felt while playing this will never leave me . I am forever grateful . Keep on keeping on my fellow porters.
Death Stranding has a very unique/weird visual style to it, interesting characters, great music, it is a great game. Hideo Kojima is a great creator, although his stories and explanations could sometimes sound like total mindfuck. But that's why I like this game!
I still remember playing this back in December of 2021. It was such a relief to my usual gaming routine back then, and overall it was an amazing experience i'll never forget. And now that the sequel's been announced, i am so ready for it.
A lot of people were complaining about this game but I disagree. Every walk, every delivery, every minute of this game is adventure. I have played 70h and I didn't max out everything because I didn't want to ruin the experience one of the best games I have ever played. Amazing story, interesting lore, wonderful music, beautiful views - damn, this game is perfect
Kojima is the director, producer, writer and designer of the game, make a game where just walking is fun.. big respect. many will not understand the meaning of this game and kojima give something more than the classic games of today and show the game does not have to be just shooting, fighting or racing and made the game world much more interesting than it is
Yes, finally! One of the most beautiful games ever made. I will never forget those moments walking in the wild, right when Kojima decides to put his personal playlist...
Started a second playthrough recently, been feeling the urge to go back. Got sucked right back in. Good friggin game, genuinely love it and the gameplay. Soundtrack, everything. Beautiful experience. Gamers dont deserve Kojima.
Spoilers: I was crying my eyes out walking to the final destination of the game. Not only Sam had endured so much, lost so many people, and even named Lou after his unborn daughter, just to have to take her unresponsive capsule to be incinerated. Then, you as the player of the game, have to physically move Sam over the same area the first mission took you. I was in such a wreck, it took me minutes to click ok to place Lou down. Then to continue on and watch these scenes unfold, and Sam not giving up on Lou. It really was amazing story writing. Yes, maybe not the best game dynamic, and for some more of a movie than a game, but it was and is by far one of my favorite games created. If not for making me so invested in such a craft. Thank you for dedicating your time to such a game, PRICH made it perfect.
Like Stories of the Old's video made me realise the purpose of the game, ever since then I have played it and loved it, another excellent video Beauty Of!
Death stranding is the example of how game developers should show how beautiful their graphics are Learning from a movie cinematographer would help not just flashy looking lights thrown at the players without much planning And other game like ghost of Tsushima and God of war do this really well too And it's a very hard job to make a story like death stranding to be interesting Especially in a video game I'm interested to see Kojima movie
loved this game. playing it while in lockdown last year and it was such an unexpected treat, thematically it was so resonant. some of the moments where a low roar song would fade in after a tumultuous journey or key moment in the story was such a great touch. sam's journey trying to reconnect people and find himself has stuck with me and given me a new lease on life as restrictions have ended in my country and I can see my family and friends again and connect with them in person. as corny as it sounds I think I got what Kojima was going for with this and for that I've become a more grateful person for the connections that I have currently while trying to repair older ones/establish new ones.
It's a wonderful video. But I think one of the beautiful things of Death Stranding is make deliveries through a gorgeus and stunning map, with the help of other players. Thanks to all the porters who went with me in the travel.
The reason people hate this game is because it’s waking. I understand that walking may be boring. But the story of this game was 10/10. The graphics and animations and the details on the face of the characters was 10/10. The music was 10/10. In my opinion Death Stranding was the best game of 2019. And it has a novelization. So for those of you who would rather read than walk. Pick up the novelization. The story is what made the game so special. And now that story is in a book. I feel like everyone needs to experience the story that this game has to over. Whether it’s in game form or a book form. Death Stranding is 9/10 and is a masterpiece.
if you let the game take you , and try and understand the messages it giving out, each walk, each delivery stars making you think deeply about the world you are in, and even relate it to you're own life. Then the walking becomes more than that, and the overall journey through the game becomes something quite surreal. Truly impressive game.
This game is simply astonish! I took 120 hours to finish it and I did not everything! Each character is special of your way, has your own arc, your own history, your own life. And we made part of it. Just awesome!
@Alp Guler the gameplay is so relaxing. reminded of minecraft where you can go at your own pace and the sense of urgency is dictated by the player. Even after getting the platinum I still revisit it regularly to check up on my structures and my strand contracts to help out some of the newer players. very rewarding.
@Alp Guler You are not alone. Death Stranding had a really unique gameplay loop and interesting mechanics despite people calling it a walking sim which is inaccurate and reductive. However the cinematics weren't that good imo. because of Kojima's questionable writing skills haha.
I started to play this game when it came out and for some unknown reason I stopped, probably because I wasn't ready for it. But last year, I thought I would quit playing games after completing TLOU2, but I felt like I wasn't finished yet and I decided to set myself a goal that I would play the game from the master himself Hideo Kojima and officially put down the controller for good. When I finally played this from beginning to end, no word's could describe my experience with this magnum opus and everything from this masterpiece, the score, performances, the cinematography, and all star cast, it didn't feel like a game, I felt like an actual film was being unfolded by using gaming as a disguise. Death Stranding accomplished the mixture of film and gaming like no other. I can't praise this enough because it's not a game at all, it's an actual film.
Incredible video!!! I was waiting for this video for so long. Death Stranding is really something else, i love the story and the moments playing it. Kojima really put his heart on it.
I platinumed this game in about 135 hours I adored it but then I traded it in to get something else months and months later yesterday in fact I re bought it I missed it that much also photo mode was added so that's a big thumbs up for me too gorgeous video beautifully edited captures the beauty of this wonderfully unique and special game BRAVO👍❤️
This could actually be used as the official game trailer it's so well done. Incredibly well made. It must have taken days to edit. The music fits perfectly. (I know it's already in the game) I would love to see what you could do with Low Roars music in the background. You've excelled with this one. ❤️
This is literally my favorite game, but sadly I can't play it, so I just seen it's gameplay hundreds of times, it's a really beautiful game, there should be more games like this..
Such an amazing work of art. I'm closing in on maybe 60% finished and it's gripping. So many little challenges, so many feels. Mama's story is especially touching.

Oh yes, the game the call of duty generation dismissed because you didn't get to shoot someone in the face every 5 seconds
pain
Cries when he holds random baby.
Also completely indifferent when own mother dies
The most beautiful part in my opinion is the part with the girl standing in the sunset. Such a masterpiece
I still remember playing this back in December of 2021. It was such a relief to my usual gaming routine back then, and overall it was an amazing experience i'll never forget. And now that the sequel's been announced, i am so ready for it.
I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING
TOP 3 of the Generation ! Can't wait to know more about Kojima's next project.
This game truly is a one of a kind, and the fact it pretty much predicted the future says it all.
Masterpiece by Kojima Production
Kojima is the director, producer, writer and designer of the game, make a game where just walking is fun.. big respect. many will not understand the meaning of this game and kojima give something more than the classic games of today and show the game does not have to be just shooting, fighting or racing and made the game world much more interesting than it is
Thanks bro... My favourite game forever
Yes, finally! One of the most beautiful games ever made. I will never forget those moments walking in the wild, right when Kojima decides to put his personal playlist...
God I just love this game. Far too underrated because it is so much more than a "Postman Simulator"
Started a second playthrough recently, been feeling the urge to go back. Got sucked right back in. Good friggin game, genuinely love it and the gameplay. Soundtrack, everything. Beautiful experience. Gamers dont deserve Kojima.
Spoilers:
I was crying my eyes out walking to the final destination of the game.
You gotta admit, the game made you feel and feel so amazing through out the entire game.
Like Stories of the Old's video made me realise the purpose of the game, ever since then I have played it and loved it, another excellent video Beauty Of!
Same, and for TLOU II as well. These two channels make me appreciate games more than actual gaming channels lmao.
Beautiful story, beautiful game and beautiful video
Liking it before even watching. I have been looking forward to it so much. Thank you.
The best game... and you posted this video on my birthday. Thank you, what a beautiful gift
Thank you, this game is literally my top 2 games of all time
This game is gorgeous. I wish I could play it again
Death Stranding - Elden Ring - Warzone 2019
My holy grails of gaming.
Beautifully put together. I'll always have a special place in my heart for this game.
Thanks. I've been waiting :)
The story of this game actually made me cry.
Death stranding is the example of how game developers should show how beautiful their graphics are
Learning from a movie cinematographer would help not just flashy looking lights thrown at the players without much planning
And other game like ghost of Tsushima and God of war do this really well too
And it's a very hard job to make a story like death stranding to be interesting
Especially in a video game
I'm interested to see Kojima movie
Thank you so much! The editing is brillant and the music choice is perfect!!!!
Better than any recent Netflix shows period
does this video spoil too many from the game ?
i want to play it so bad
One of the greatest games ever made.
Thank You For Making This...A Surprise But A Welcome One.... Beautiful Video 💙
Absolutely fantastic choice here. The game is a proper magical journey.
This song makes me so sad. My dog passed and I just kept singing it. So beautiful yet so emotional
When you get through your first storm, and Assylum For The Feeling plays as you walk to port knot city.. sooo good!
Calling Death Stranding is high art and a creative wonder.
loved this game. playing it while in lockdown last year and it was such an unexpected treat, thematically it was so resonant. some of the moments where a low roar song would fade in after a tumultuous journey or key moment in the story was such a great touch. sam's journey trying to reconnect people and find himself has stuck with me and given me a new lease on life as restrictions have ended in my country and I can see my family and friends again and connect with them in person. as corny as it sounds I think I got what Kojima was going for with this and for that I've become a more grateful person for the connections that I have currently while trying to repair older ones/establish new ones.
Lou seems happy
It's a wonderful video. But I think one of the beautiful things of Death Stranding is make deliveries through a gorgeus and stunning map, with the help of other players. Thanks to all the porters who went with me in the travel.
Omg this edit made me cry, thank you for this!! you're so talented 💛💛✨
Just awesome!
this looks like such a good game, I'm almost intimidated by it.
This game was something else.
One of my favorite games of all time. Love it so much
This is amazing.
This game is beautiful indeed. Loved playing it.
Cinematics: Freaking masterpiece
Gameplay: Some high-class delivery person/baby sitter stuff
@Alp Guler haha that is cool tho. I mean, everyone has their own preference in gameplay 💫
You probably too young. Play this game later on in your life
@@brandeeno2846 Thanks gramps
Goosebumps...
One of my favorite PS4 games
YES! i was waiting for this one :)
Truly A Masterpiece
This is absolutely beautiful.
literally this song makes me cry
Incredible video!!! I was waiting for this video for so long. Death Stranding is really something else, i love the story and the moments playing it. Kojima really put his heart on it.
One of the best and most beautiful games ever, another great vid!
i’m so glad you did this. i LOVE this game
This is literally my favorite game, but sadly I can't play it, so I just seen it's gameplay hundreds of times, it's a really beautiful game, there should be more games like this..
whenever I see one of your new videos on my feed I just forget about all the problems and noises around me, thanks truly man, thanks!
Well, I'm crying
Amazing video ♥️♥️
Such an amazing work of art. I'm closing in on maybe 60% finished and it's gripping. So many little challenges, so many feels. Mama's story is especially touching.
This game. Man, the feels.
The Beauty of Minari next please!! the cinematography’s so dreamy and tender
I acknowledge it's flaws. But damn, did this game linger in my mind long after finishing it. More so than anything else in recent years.
What a fucking masterpiece.
I feel bad for the people who don’t understand that this game is one the greatest games ever made. It’s sad.
