It wouldn't have worked, for some reason in the AA universe, even if you're a child, you can be prosecuted for murder no matter the circunstances.

In reality Godot should have just destroyed the letter before Pearl found it, since he did in fact get to it first. But, he wanted to see Dahlia deep down for revenge.
The issue is that Misty and Iris were too dumb to go along with Godot's plans. They could have devised any number of better plans but instead went with blatantly putting Maya and Misty in harm's way. They even had a cell ready to use and put locks on in the form of the channeling chamber

I mean, all other alternatives aside, telling Pearl about the plan probably wouldn't work. I never understood why no one attempted to tell Phoenix if no one else. I mean I get that Godot would refuse to, but clearly Misty must have known about him and therefore the most logical thing to do would be to tell him. Or scratch that Maya or Sister Bikini what was being planned. Misty could had also returned as the Master after learning about Morgan's plan to frame Maya the first time. Pearls would have followed the instructions in the letter, even if she thought it was strange.
Of course, it wouldn't have made for an interesting trial and case. And the Ace Attorney series isn't known for it's common sense. But yeah, the characters did indeed over complicate things lol

And that alone fucked up the entire plan since it allowed Dahlia to nearly kill Maya and Godot to kill Misty lol
Also, I don't know about if Misty could do better. She was pretty reluctant to show herself to the Fey only to save Maya disguised as Elise, I think meeting a man she doesn't know or appearing again to Maya is something she would never do since she wanted to kill her old self even after Turnabout Goodbyes tbh

Well since Mia's death, Phoenix had been with Maya, defended her twice and also did his best to keep her alive when she got kidnapped. So, despite being a stranger to Misty, he clearly wasn't just a stranger to Maya (or Mia). I think Phoenix earnt some trust up to that point. Despite whatever Godot says about him.

@@benlinlin1 It's also worth noting that for Pearl she doesn't know much of the outside world by what her mother chose to tell her. And as likely spent most of her life around her mother and her influence. So I imagine that also impacts her understanding and perspective of the world compared to most kids who haven't been sheltered in a remote village.
But like most kids with their parents, it would still have been difficult for Pearl to say no to her mother. Even if she knew the whole truth, like you say that she still trusts her mother a lot. But kids also aren't stupid, if she thought something her mother asked her to do was strange, she might not have listened if she knew the truth. Though I imagine she likely has learnt not to listen to everything by the end.

      Btw,
      This video was well-made.
It actually does make sense for Elise Deauxnim to have some self-preservation because taking Godot's advice of saving Pearls and Maya by channelling Dahlia is just straight up suicide.
And also on top of THAT, Maya Fey barely knew her real mother and let alone, create some familial bonds with her at the same time so her mother sacrificing herself to keep her safe was a bit too much because all of it was too unnecessary.
So Elise Deauxnim's death wasn't that impactful to Maya at all.
Its nothing but a regular Tuesday when it comes losing her loved ones to her now because of her repeated involvement with murder cases at this point.
Bridge of Turnabout brings to the point home that a man who is stuck to the past endangers everyone around him and drags them to his unnecessary drama just because he was played for a fool by the sands of time.
