- I wondered how to visualize the American COVID-19 victims best and that's the result: the Washington Monument recreated only from stacked coffins. @ GOP/ Republican fans: Art has always commented on bad developments in society, it might be hurtful but is part of the democratic process.
All coffins have the size 180 x 60 x 35 cm (0.378 m³), the obelisk has a volume of 29439.134 m³ which would result in a total number of 77881 coffins. However, since you can't stack the coffins without gaps in between if you want to retain the shape of the monument, this simulation only has 66075 coffins.

No. It’s at least 3 times more (counting only for the republican party in the usa) the exact number of deaths is hard to know because as soon as you get it it’s already out of date. As time of writing is about 1.8 million, or more than the entire city of Phoenix, Arizona. Imagine a city like that just empty, no one there, but everyone isn’t on vacation but dead.

It objectively DID happen and DID get counted. And it's definitely not isolated. The CDC outright stated of their own volition that they "expanded" the definition of what counts as a "COVID-related death" to get a "bigger picture of the situation", which means shit like this has happened all the time.
The people in charge of actually counting "Coronavirus death" are outright ADMITTING that the numbers aren't accurate.

Conservatives and conservative extremists across the globe massively pushed the politicization of basic infection control strategies. Social distancing, mask wearing, vaccination, and ultimately stay-at-home orders. "Pro-life" in name only, especially as the politicians and pundits pushing that messaging were often carefully following safety precautions themselves, FOX entertainment as an example.
So yeah I agree with you, I wouldn't blame them for everything, but I will blame them for all they're responsible for.

It is your personal decision to wear one and it is your personal decision to go out and be around people. Republicans are against controlling people and a national mask mandate is against our core values. It may have saved some lives but in the end it is your personal choice whether you go out in public or not.

The problem is not only that Trump did nothing to stop the virus. He could even have saved many more people just by telling them they should ba careful with social contacts and wearing their masks - but he did the contrary. He gambled with human lives, even against scientific advice.
