The Mormon "first time?" thing always reminds of the bit in Airplane! when the old woman asks Ted if he's nervous, and after he replies in the affrimative, she follows up with "first time?" and his response is "no, I've been nervous lots of times".
Elias Toufexis, the actor who played Kenzo, the spy with the eye, did a cameo for another UA-cam reactor, "Funny Lil Gal," and told how he had originally auditioned for Amos. He clearly didn't get the part, but they liked him enough to create the character of Kenzo. He said that normally, he might harbor some resentment and animosity for the other actor who got the role he wanted, but as soon as he saw Wes Chatham, and how he played the role, he knew that they made the right choice. Wes *was* Amos Burton.
Really enjoying your enthusiasm and your insights! You are picking up things that many other reactors missed at this stage and asking lots of good questions
Thank you so much 😊it's a good series to analise and theorize, it makes it more fun this way and it's also a good way to interact with viewers and fans of this series 😊
I can see those gears turning in your head. :) This is why this show is so worth the effort required to keep up. You are just as lost as you are suppose to be right now. Answers and more questions are coming!
Because of the population restrictions the Mormons were looking to migrate from Sol to Tau Ceti - a single G-type star about 12ly away. Owing to its similarity to our star, it has always been a popular candidate/host for life in various scifi tales and when The Expanse was conceived/written, there were believed to be as many as eight planets, including two possible super-Earths that fell within the theoretical habitable zone surrounding Tau-Ceti.
Dang you're doing an amazing job of analyzing the show. I got a sort of 'drift' of what was happening but not as concretely as you're doing. Amazing work really I've never seen anyone see the issues and backtrack what has happened so clearly with The Expanse. I'm even more excited for the rest of the series with you now. Thanks Andie for a great ep.
Hehe 😄 thank you for a lovely comment. It's words like these that motivate me to do more of these videos. I'm so happy you're enjoying it. More to come next week 💪😁
Great reaction and analysis! You're doing such a great job picking up on details and putting things together! This will serve you well as you continue your journey! Thoroughly enjoying watching you react to The Expanse!! This first season is rapidly closing to an end and the mystery will soon unravel. At this point about all we can say is strap in and hold onto your butt because this show is fixing to ramp up to an incredible pace! Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you so much James, I'm so happy you're enjoying these videos. it's been a really cool adventure with this series and I'm loving it. The community has been a great help to understand things and motivate me :)
Another great reaction. All of those little details that you caught in the previous episodes are coming together. I am enjoying watching you think these through and be genuinely excited when you figure things out. I'm happy you are enjoying this show. Keep paying close attention, and this story will not disappoint you. Look forward to the next episode.
Thank you so much Jeffrey ^^ I'm so happy you're enjoying the videos. I'm so happy I'm able to follow along with the series, especially because I was so intimidated in the beginning because of how complex this series is. So, of course, I got super excited to get some things right :)
You're keeping up with the plot really, really well. As the team entered the Blue Falcon, the spy Kenzo's eye showed that he had gotten a connection and had reported their location. The response visible in his eye was that the "tactical team" (Errinwright's black ops team) was on the way to the Blue Falcon.
I loved this episode. It was so happy and surprised these people joined up. I was expecting it to take a few more episodes. And then I felt so gutted at the end. I was so sure they would either find her alive, or find the next clue to her. I remember thinking… “now where is this show going?!?” Have fun! There are still so many highs and lows and amazing things in this show… and as you work through the seasons, keep in mind this was cancelled. We thought we were only getting 3 seasons, lol.
wait, what? this show was canceled? yeah it was really sad when they found her dead, I wasnt sure what to expect but part of me wanted her to be alive so that Miller could prove to her that he was a good guy, but I guess then the story wouldnt be that much fun.
@@andiecph oh yeah. There was a whole Save The Expanse campaign. People rented sky signs to fly above Amazon headquarters to try to convince bezos to save it!
@@PsychoMuffinSDM oh I see, for a second there I thought they had canceled this series and my heart stopped beating 😂 omg that is amazing, I'm so happy that they insisted on continuing the show, I hate when I am invested in a series and it's sudently canceled, it just sucks.
@@andiecph and then it got cancelled again at the end of season six. There are still three more books that we all SO badly want to see be made. But those are a 30 year time jump, and they ended season six VERY well, yet kept it open if another studio wants to do those next three seasons. It’s doubtful that will happen, so you may want to consider reading the books.
@@PsychoMuffinSDM awww man 😢 those bastards. well since it would be a 30 year jump then maybe there is still hope, since they could get other actors that look older (depending on the characters of course). I'm not the best reader these days, but I might consider reading the books if I find them in my mother tongue, then it will be easier to read.
First of all, I enjoy your reactions! I love how you are theorizing and it is funny to seen you rejoice that you got it right about Mao's alias. 🤣 That being said, I personally liked it when I found my theories were wrong because I would discover how this show is so much original that any sci-fi shows before it. Secondly, the story of the series starts to move faster with this episode. There will always be setups and a many new questions will arise as answers to old questions will come forth. But you will always be surprised and always will be shocked! Enjoy the ride! 👍
Thank you so much 😊 I'm really happy you're enjoying the videos, it means a lot to me. This is a very interesting series and quite original too. I'm really happy that I'm able to get some of my theories correct, it feels like a game sometimes, which makes it even more interesting. But it is quite dense and the community has been great at explaining things without spoiling it.
There is no government-operated police department on Ceres. I realize that is a bit hard to fathom, but that'a the story. The policing was sub-contracted to Star Helix, a private corporation. We have way less info about Eros, but we did hear that announcement that "CPM" handles security on Eros, so I think it would be a good assumption, until we are handed facts to the contrary, that CPM is a private corporation policing Eros as the result of a government contract. The OPA does not officially run the police dept. on Ceres. Star Helix, Inc., does, at least in theory. It just has so many adherents of the OPA working for it that, in fact, the OPA controls the policing of Ceres. Miller told us early on that there was "no law on Ceres, just cops". I am unaware of private corporations getting contracts to operate local police departments in our real world, but I have heard of prisons being opertated for profit by private corporations in many states here in the USA. It is supposedly cheaper due to the private corporations paying non-union wages and benefits.
The various stations are not the territories of any government, they are the properties of corporations, thus they have their own security forces. And unlike the current political environment on earth, there doesn't appear to be any "interplanetary law" that the stations would fall under. Earth and Mars enforce their own separate policies for their own benefit. Belters must navigate them all.
@@kirkdarling4120 Yes and no. Ceres Station is nominally governed by the UN (Miller and Havelock visited the governor's office earlier in the season). They outsource security there to Star Helix, an Earth-based company. That's in contrast to Tycho Station, which is directly owned and operated by the (Earth-based, surprisingly) Tycho Corporation, and Ganymede Station, which is jointly governed by Earth and Mars. But yeah, Belters usually get the short end of the stick, whatever the org chart looks like.
Really enjoying your reactions, you're catching a lot of details and doing a lot of great brainstorming without locking yourself into a single conclusion. You're asking great questions, and you'll get answers soon!
Thank you 😊you should see the theory board that I've made 😂 it's a very interesting series and I was afraid I would not understand it, so obviously because I got some things right it made it more interesting to see what else I could guess.
