I marinated a London broil overnight and went out and picked this grill up today. I lined the drip pan with foil first then added water, overall did a great job, the meat was delicious and no smoke ! Indoors grilling made easy. Heat it for a few moments before using, cooks perfectly on both sides. Thanks for the video ☺️
with these types of grills you can added flavor in the water and when it heats up it will transfer the flavor to the food. like liqued smoke or fresh herbs rosemary so on.
Mines call Excelvan. It the same thing. It is an amazing indoor grill. I do use Liquid Smoke and herbs in the water. Great grill. Had mines for over a year now. 😎
Thank you so much for this! I purchased this for my mom for Mother’s Day last year and we still have yet to use it 😩 I’m making grilled shrimp tacos today! Thanks again!!
I saw an ad for this Super Bowl weekend for $50. I went to ebay and found one for $34 shipped, so I bought it. When I clicked buy-it-now, a discount was applied and I got it for $29 shipped. Then I watched Ken's videos. I also got one of the infrared thermometers like Ken uses in at least one video. The grill came in a huge box. I didn't get a chance to use it until this past weekend and it was warm enough to grill out, but I used this anyway. So I opened the huge box and found out why it was huge. There were 4 grills in it. Anyway, I grilled 4 of the last 6 nights, first 1" NY strips then 1 1/4" sirloins. First night, no beginner's luck. They were well done. The next three nights, zeroed them in medium rare. Electric heat doesn't impart any flavor. I had only seasoned them with salt and pepper. But now I have some of Ken's McCormick's Brazilian Steakhouse seasoning on the way. This is going to come in handy next winter. Gonna do some sausages tonight.
I use mine a lot during the colder months and some on those rainy days. It’s not as good as being outdoors, but it’s still pretty good. I love the Brazilian Steakhouse seasoning. McCormicks did a really good job with that one. Thanks so much for watching my videos!
My gf got one for us and tonight it was actually raining and we wanted to do burgers and i thought of this. One thing I do help cook faster and even is use an aluminum roasting pan as a lid to act more like a grill with lid
I have a hamilton beach that uses the same design as the george foreman with improvements...it has a much larger surface and it is LEVEL. Instead of tilting for grease runoff, the grill is level and the valleys are tilted. Much better design. Leaves really nice grill marks. 13 years old and still kicking.
Hi, I just subscribed to your channel today. I’m glad I found this video, because I just ordered that same grill through a grocery delivery service called Shipt. I received my grill the other day, and it helps to know that I am using it correctly. Thank you for the informative video, be blessed and have a great day.
Bought this in 2018 on Amazon. Had issues with the dial and got a replacement from Chefman. I guess what's slightly annoying aside from the fact that it doesn't have exact temp indicators is that it has 3 separate temps from left to right (as per their photo), so your cooking space diminishes depending on what you want to cook. For us we mainly cook steak and burgers for a family of 4 so we have to keep shifting the meat since the middle is the hottest. I guess it would be better if we were cooking the meat with sides for 2 so that we can take advantage of the different temperatures at the same time but the large cooking surface is kind of misleading for that reason to me.
Yes, these electric grills can be tricky. I use mine a lot in the colder months when I can’t get outside as much and I really enjoy it. Thanks so much for Watching!
Hi Vincent! Yes, Mike is my cousin and thanks so much for the Sub! I really like this little grill a lot. On those day when I just can’t get outside on my larger grill, this is perfect.
For foods like broccoli and sweet potato puffs, season these in a bowl first, then add to grill. I think it’d be too messy to sprinkle seasoning when food is on grill. Not liking: can’t tell water level without sliding out water tray.
You could count the marks and figure out medium and mark it with something like red nail polish, just a thought. I would mark 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 myself. Anyway nice little grill review.
My mother has a smokeless grill, very similar to that. It may be the same brand I don’t know. She asked me if I wanted one. I turned her down. When she asked me why I told her because I have few cast iron grill pans, that I use to “grill” indoors on my stove top. Ken, do you have a cast iron grill pan? If so do you see any advantage in this over a cast iron grill pan?
I have some cast iron skillets that I use, but no grill pan. I may look into one. I do like that electric grill and it does a fine job, but I’d say that the grill pan would work just as good, if not better.
I bought this about a month ago on Amazon $39.95. There is a marking for medium now. I really like this thing, getting ready to cook some burgers in a few minutes.
The elements are pretty well protected by the cooking grate so that isn’t an issue. Cleaning is pretty easy going as long as you don’t let it sit too long. I prefer to wash mine by hand rather than a dish washer. Thanks for watching and good luck and have fun with it.
It was designed for grilling, not baking. I have done some good 1” steaks on mine with no issues. Granted, I’m not looking for well done, but we got the job done. Thanks for watching!
Yes, but I’d recommend wiping it down with a little cooking oil on a rag. The spray cans tend to leave a little residue that is hard to clean. Just my opinion. Thanks!
You can wipe some oil on the grates before cooking for the salmon. I recommend never putting the grate in the dishwasher, washing only by hand. And never is harsh brushes. Mine is about 3 or 4 years old, and still does just fine.

Wow, super interesting idea, def going to try. Any tips on what you added just to get an idea for the first time?
The water is below the heating elements. I do not see how the water could heat-up enough to transfer flavor.
The water is used to prevent smoke. Water does not heat up. So that wouldn't work
