    I have trouble removing the center black plastic cover to access the nut. Any advice?

      I think I used a sharp blade to pry the plastic cover off the first time I had to take things apart. I ended up not replacing the cover as it is only cosmetic. Therefore, I would do whatever you need to do to get it off. Thanks, Paul

      @@paulbonner8874 Thank you, I didn't want to damage it. Mine is a 2 months old Kickr Core with no more speed reading. I've sticked a white paper strip on the flywheel inside surface without success. I've contacted Wahoo support and a brand new replacement unit was sent to me.

      Wow, I'm still having a hard time trying to pry it off. I'm using a sharp box cutter blade and I can't get it down into the seam at all. I'm thinking about trying a hammer and screwdriver and see if I can just pound the piece until the plastic breaks into pieces. I bought mine two years ago, so it's well beyond warranty. This is like tying to break into Fort Knox!

      I actually used strong tape across mine and pulled out that way. There aren’t any clips, just held in with friction.
      If you’re not bothered about destroying it, you could just drill through the centre and pull it out that way!

    nice vid! I'm having a similar problem. do you know whether you have to position the sticker at a specific position?

    • @paulbonner8874
      @paulbonner8874  4 місяці тому

      No. The sensor just has to read it once per revolution.

    Can you tell me what type of white tape you used? I’ve run into the same problem in the last 10 minutes which is how I found your video but there seems to be a wide variety of white tapes available.

      Anything that is bright white should work. Mine is from a label making machine.

    Hi Paul, great video, and good to see how to pull the flywheel off. My issue is the spot on the roller that contacts the tyre is worn to the point that it is concave (yes, lots of kms!), and the anodised aluminium is gone, so I have smooth aluminium. Unless I tighten the tyre ridiculous amounts, it tends to slip on grades and sprints. I noticed you talked about the adjustment bolts in the roller. Can that roller be removed and replaced??? any thoughts?! Thanks!

      @paulbonner8874  Рік тому

      Daniel, I've never heard of someone wearing out the aluminum roller, but there are 2 set-screws that may help you remove the roller and replace. You'd have to get everything apart first, as the lower plastic piece would also need to be removed. I'm not sure if you can get replacement parts, though. You'll have to contact Wahoo. Good luck.

    Hi, do you have dimmensions for the white sticker ? I have a trainer with no power isue but theres no sticker on fly wheel. put one on and have some power but it shows some realy too big numbers after calibration

    • @paulbonner8874
      @paulbonner8874  11 місяців тому

      The sticker is about a half inch wide. Just enough for the sensor to see it and count it. Hope this helps!

    Good to know this! My Snap is only a month old, can I ask if yours runs totally smooth and silent? My one has a noticeable very minor sort of cyclical hum/rumble (like a "woom-woom" noise more noticeable if you're at speed and stop pedalling so the drivetrain noise is absent) and I'm not sure if this is just the wheel and/or tyre maybe being slightly off radially or something else? Running a Vittoria turbo trainer tyre at 110psi, two full turns of the knob from first tyre contact on the roller (and let it off when finished a session)Have you serviced any other mechanical moving parts of it like replacing bearings? You mentioned those two "adjusting bolts on the sleeve" , what do they do?? !!

      @paulbonner8874  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for commenting. I don’t think my snap ever ran perfectly quiet. I did have a bearing issue way back and had them replaced under warranty. It was really loud though, not what you’re describing. The way you’re setting yours up is exactly the same as me. When I release the tire after finishing, the trainer should spin for minutes on its own with no tension. If it doesn’t then maybe your bearings aren’t perfect or there’s a balance issue. The Allen bolts in the sleeve are for balancing the system and shouldn’t be loosened. Wahoo sets it at the factory and changing the location could cause a lot of problems. Best of luck, Paul.

      @@paulbonner8874 Just spun it by hand in 34/28 up to a decent speed and let off the tyre>roller pressure and it did spin for absolutely ages and quiet. It's got a 2 year warranty anyway, found out a colleague of mine has one and he said his packed in after a year and they just sent him out a new one under warranty....
