Thanks, it was very helpful compared to some of the long length videos out there, I'm still not sure about knotting the strings at the tuners, is it possible to just wind them on so they don't slip?

Something worth paying attention to-done correctly here, but not highlighted-is the direction to wind the string at the peghead. Look at the image around 2:40. You'll see that the outer strings (low and hi E) are wound toward the outside of the knot hole, while the other strings are wound inward, toward the center of the peghead. This is done to make the strings travel as straight as possible through the nut. -Tom

Thank you for the best video I've seen on how to restring a classical guitar. I really liked the idea of showing the process with a bigger piece of wood, it becomes instantly clear what goes where.

i million thank you's for this. I have been stringing steel string acoustics for 30 years, but this was my first nyon string change. Your video was SO much help, especially using the big wood block as a visual aid. All the other videos I tried watching... I felt i needed a jewel's loop to see what was being done. thank you thank you thank you!

As commented by others, the large block and rope is SO HELPFUL! I'm looking at a nylon string classical guitar for Christmas, and I was really worried about putting new strings on, since I've only ever owned electric guitars. Thanks for your demo!

Just bought a new Cordoba at an auction of some store that closed. Hadn’t even strummed it yet and one of the strings just popped. It’s my first classical guitar so had to come to YT for help. This was helpful. Thanks.

Great video, thank you very much, I now learned and managed to change strings on my guitar for the first time! 😀
(Only took me about 1-3 hours but hey)
My beginners tip would be to MAKE SURE YOU ARE ABLE TO GET IT IN TUNE AND THAT THE KNOT HOLDS BEFORE YOU CUT OFF THE EXCESS STRINGS so you don't wobble for hours trying to make knots with very little excess string left if the knot doesn't hold (the nylon strings can be very slippery with the knots)
:) :) :) Hope this saves someone some frustration xD

I use Ball End Nylon Strings which make restringing the Guitar a Snap and it also lets the strings come out of the bridge at a steeper angle over the saddle. They do make Classical Guitar bridge beads which could allow you to convert Tie End Nylon Strings into Ball End Nylon Strings
