Greetings from Curwensville, Pennsylvania. I’ve enjoyed your videos for several years now, and I’d love to visit your operation some weekend after winter is over.
Hi Mark & Crew, From the South West Timber Country of Victoria Australia, wishing you “Greetings of the Season and a Happy New Year”. It is 30 dredgers C in the shade on the back veranda which is a tad warmer than you are in the USA. It is good to see our national flag over the log loader I enjoy your videos and look forward to your V-Logs they brighten up my day. To all in your team thank you for your work. Regards James.
Mark, been watching a great sawyer at work. Why I watch or just listen, my dad had a sawmill in NE Washington. We still have the farm where it was setup. He had the 671 as the power for the head saw. I think the edger and planer with electric. The sawdust pile is there, I’ll try to attach a photo. This was back in the 50’s and little 60’s. The sound here is music to my ears and a remembrance of my dad.
Six o’clock in the morning nice cherry boards coming off the mill again you must have the best supply of cherry in the state, todays job making an insurts for saw blades modern blades are to big a center for the old saw bench anyway have a nice day
When I was younger and when it got down -20°, dad would put some diesel in hydraulic tank on our 756 International tractor to thin hydraulic oil. Made a lot of difference feeding cattle with grapple.
Hi Mark. Very cold & very Cherry day/ snack video. Beautiful cherry. Thanks Mark. Say Hi to 2 Marks, & Ed. Have a good Sunday night the 15th. 🥰😊😉🥶👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌫
Ha ha! We up here in North western Ontario Canada have cut lumber in -40 degree weather for days back in the day and still do so you’re lucky it’s only that cold. But keep on trucking as they say.
I woke up to 8 degrees this morning that's cold enough for me. I live kind of between Erie Pa to the west and Buffalo N.Y. to the north east only got about 18 inches of snow here but just 10 miles north of me where I grew up they got 55 inches. Kind of fun getting a good old fashioned snow storms again.
I worked in a high production hardwood mill you have no debarker ,top saw ,edger connected to the mill ,slab pit and or rollers and stacking station at the end you don’t carry you slide the wood for production I ran everything from sawyer on down
When sawing frozen logs, is the cut quality better or worse than summer logs? Does it dull the blade faster? Do the boards hold their shape better frozen (and, then release the stress when they thaw?)
Yea, it's been cold. In honor of frozen cherry, Mother took some Mt. Morency cherries out of the freezer in order to be consistent with you. It's all yummy every way you look at it. Too bad freezing cherry wood doesn't eliminate the defects 😂. You can prove it's so old, your breath was quite noticeable.
@mcburcke Not so true, but I'm sure a good bar barf slathering, draws in more bar flies. A scent attractant for those bar flies ranging from 2 to 6 legs.
Ps. My father in the old days use to set his portable sawmills on a frozen lake to saw logs. Because it was flatter and more open than trying to setup in the bush.
Funny, a friend of a friend reached out to me, asking if I could bring my portable mill onsite to mills some logs for him. "Not until spring." He wanted me out to mill when it was 0F out.
@markgalicic7788 That would be great!! I need a pice of cherry 3' long, 10- 12" wide, 2" thick and a cherry 2x4 about 2' long, let me know what it will cost??
sawng a froozen log?? is that easier or 'harder' to cut through (spieces dependent?), ""teter-toter" that is the term that could be used to explain whe we put the bow out (to not teter-toter against the knees.. what if it is double crooked .... or did you mean , it is freezing out here, or the log was froozen (takes just one night to freeze the log, at -10 C (= 12F )
Would like to maybe purchase some lumber from you guys but i cant seem to find contact info. I have seen your email in the videos but i dont remember what it is.

Yep it was raining and 68° this evening 12-14, tomorrow is suppose to be 78° and thunder. It's Louisiana not Pennsylvania. I'll take rain over cold anyday.
The sound isn’t better it’s worse, My wife can’t handle the hum I said it’s the same but we went to a video 9 months ago so ow I watch with the volume down and cc on Believe me I’m not trying to be one of the jerks just a little bit of feedback
Thanks Mark and company for braving the cold to bring us a video! 😀

I appreciate you’all working in such cold temp just to provide us with a sawing ‘fix’. You are good fellas👍
Thanks for enduring the cold ,BOYS,just to make us a Friday snack. Much appreciated . God bless🇨🇦
Neil Diamond Cherry Cherry Good sawing 👍👍👍☕️☕️☕️
I like it lol.
Mark, THANKS for enduring the cold to make a snack!!👍👍😎😎
your welcome Greg.
Sawing cherry is better than no sawing at all. From my perspective, it doesn't matter what you saw. I just enjoy watching.
Bill
thanks Bill.

good morning Adam.
Hi from Ireland 🇮🇪 😊
Colman Racey, checking in from much warmer North Myrtle Beach, SC. Enjoy all of your videos, and I do mean all of them. Take care and god bless.
A mostly pretty little log. Cherry is so lovely.
When I was younger and when it got down -20°, dad would put some diesel in hydraulic tank on our 756 International tractor to thin hydraulic oil. Made a lot of difference feeding cattle with grapple.
OMG 12 degrees!!! Seriously? More power to ya. I am glad i am in San Diego. I guess the whole East Coast is getting hammered. God bless Mother Nature.
yes very cold.

I love the video. You made quite a few 4" wide boards that will be just what I need for my project.
Thanks for sharing brother 🙏😁 enjoyed it

Good to see you. It is cold in Wisconsin too. 🥶🥶🥶🥶🥶🤧🤧🤧

Stay warm. Stay cheerful. ❤❤❤
thanks Karen.
A Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New Year to all of you and your families From Me and mine
You can really tell how much quieter the videos are since you put the housing around the bus motor! 😁
Oof!!! I'm feeling sympathy pains from your cold weather!
not a fun day for sure lol.
Lookin good . I wish you guys were closer .
thanks Robert.
The doggie goes in, doggie goes out! 😂
I like it lol.
That was a quick video yes it was 12 ° here in New Hampshire not a good day to be outside. I am happy you made a video 😊. Stay warm you guys 👍🥶

Frozen Cherry sawdust sprinkled over Vanilla ice cream. Good source of fiber.

Doggies doggies doggies!

this is like back in the 70s when I was a kid cold and lot's of snow.
Still love the Cherry!

it's about the same just run standall bits in the saw.
@@markgalicic7788. So you don’t run carbide when it’s frozen. You run standalls??
nice cold snack ty guys

yes she was a cold one today!
Why spalted sycamore for the bar? Does that odd coloration hide bar barf better?
Spoken like a true barfly...😊
@mcburcke Not so true, but I'm sure a good bar barf slathering, draws in more bar flies. A scent attractant for those bar flies ranging from 2 to 6 legs.
Wow! 12 deg F is minus 11 C.
Cold for us English folk. Thanks for the snack though.
thanks Steve , yes cold is cold lol.
I find it interesting you normally start with parallel sides. The machinist in me wants create a right angle right away.

Oh my 12 degrees ain't nothing. We've already hit sub zero! You get used to it!!!! Lol😂
that's true but things don't work to good in this weather.
12 degrees? I'd be in the house watching UA-cam.
I am now lol , did you get your blade hammered?
@markgalicic7788 I did! And brought home another one, too.
@@templehillsawmill1748 Go your way next week to Oteen.
@@templehillsawmill1748 I hope a 56" you will like it.
I would have never thought one could get tired of sawing cherry. I suppose variety is the spice of life. Thanks for the Saturday evening snack video.
I do like sawing a variety of logs but this is what we have to saw now.
I would like to find a couple of small pieces of cherry to make cutting boards for kitchen use in my RV, can't find cherry in Florida were I live 😢
we could fix you up Carl.
@markgalicic7788 That would be great!! I need a pice of cherry 3' long, 10- 12" wide, 2" thick and a cherry 2x4 about 2' long, let me know what it will cost??
Do you have snow on the ground?
Frozen cherry? Makes me think of cheesecake topped with cherries taken out of the freezer 😛The cold really affects the hydraulics too.
I like it lol.
@markgalicic7788 I like making homemade cheesecake, then putting the cherries on top too.
Mark, do you use cold weather hydraulic oil in winter?
no this mill has a 100 gallon hydraulic tank just too much money.
Why did I move from Beaver County to North Carolina? Maybe the winter weather............................Jay
yes I do hate cold weather lol!
Don't want to rub it in but it was 93deg here in Can bra today and 105deg in Adelaide according to forecast.
I take it you do not have a warm-up valve for your hydraulics, it can really help.

Still in shorts and T- shirt guy's ,,,,,, the temp here in South Australia today is 100° F or 38℃ Stay safe guy's 💥
send us some heat Gerry!
@@markgalicic7788 Been there once. PASS!
any width board that you shoot for tipicaly?
Hopefully frozen camera mount don’t go BOOM!

So is the QB for the Navy (Horvath) related to eddie ?
I did see that today lol.
... still fall for another week here ..!.. Ha Ha ..!
very true lol.
Why dont you use a old heater 12volt, water pump on detroit..
not sure what you mean?
You dhould run a hose and small car interior heater from the engine heat for your box.

Ice storm in Eastern Iowa
I would rather have lots of snow over ice any day.
Good show Mark. Now go get warmed up.
thanks Jerry.
12° is pretty cold.Where I was stationed in military, we got down to -27 .
I was wondering if you had cut much Osage orange wood?😊
yes we have in the past , very hard.
💥💥🍔🍻🐿️
Where you still planning on getting the kiln built?
no power to run it.
Good video Bus Motor Productions.

Hey Mark my wife says you need to clean the wood chips and sawdust off of that deck next to the conveyor belt just saying…. LOL
it sure does.
Chewi really does not like the cold...
Your audio is getting worse and worse! Sorry, you are now way past the unbearable-mark
hi there my hydraulics are moving slow also , best to all john
thanks John lol.

YES, the cover only reduces some of the noise frequencies . . .
that's the hydraulics not the bus motor lol.
