Hi Mark. Beautiful oak lumber. Every now & then. We see a" square tree." Thanks Mark. Say Hi to Ed, ZZ, Hank, & the other helper. Have a good Monday night of the 25th. 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🌌
WOW As beautiful as that square Oak Tree Log 🪵 is it's great for either building cabinets or kitchen Tables and coffee and end Tables and I'll bet you can get Top Dollar 💵 for lumber that looks as beautiful board's that is turning out to be !
I was on a walk in the forest a couple of months ago, and I've stumbled on a perfectly square trunk oaf an ash tree.....I was.... just amazed... never seen something like that before. Nice video, I didn't comment for a while now. Best regards from Romania!
I truly wish your sawmill was closer to where I live because I'd be wanting to buy your beautiful Oak Tree Log lumber 🪵 and that particular Oak boards looks a lot like beautiful Ash lumber that is always great for building cabinets as well !
That's right Marc, never let them get dull.Same for my zero turn ex mark mower,I sharpen the blades every morning before we leave to mow,and balancing the blades is as important as touching them up. Makes my stripes nice and clean
It's interesting how that type of oak grows with the square end like that. A sharp saw looks like it can go through everything now. Have a great Thanksgiving guys, I thank you for providing these videos, I have learned much from all of you.
Hi 👋 Mark & Eddie & ZZ Mark congrats on reaching 88K subscribers I love ❤️ watching ur videos I am a senior citizen that’s home bound don’t get out much I look forward to to watching ur videos every 3 times a week keep up the good work May The Good Lord Bless ur families always also may u & ur families enjoy ur thanksgiving day there is a lot to be thankful this year ❤ ur grateful subscriber Peter A from SC
Eight o’clock in the morning that’s nice oak coming off the mill nice to see a full crew working , having breakfast while watching you guys todays job take two pigs to the slaughterhouse get them back Friday afternoon to make ham bacon sausage and black pudding anyway you guys have a nice day
I was going to mention the difference of the sound of the saw and engine after you sharpened it but ya beat me to it. Hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving Mark Eddie and the man on the lam ZZ, have a great day guys catch you next time
I'm with you in putting an edge on something as soon as they start getting dull. No use killing it. I'd usually oil and gas a saw up then when I touched the teeth up. That did away with a lot of confusion and the bus motor was happier today because of a honing. Yall remain calm and that square butt had a LOT of pretty boards. I can't watch Shannon. Too many close calls for me. I remember how the old mill was and us running for cover. God Bless Yall
My grandmother "Busha" lived in Shamokin, PA was Polish and my coal miner Grandfather was Lithuanian. They both snuck out right after WW I.. Not too many people are from Lithuania. My last name sounds Greek so most people think I am of Greek origin. I was told a lot of Greeks emigrated to Lithuania. Good show and I am glad it goes around the world. WOW never heard of square oak. Looks nice though. viewed in California, USA
Nice Mark, really nice wood. I have seen you show how to sharpen back on some other videos, but you seem to be gettin new subs, more and more - which is great. I share everywhere.. from SE Texas ❤💯🙏
Another amazing video Mark nice log at the end there .. at our mill I would of whacked that bad boy into cants lol it makes people upset but that’s what we do congrats on 88 000 that’s awesome
I know that this problably sounds crazy, but you should put out a cd of all the sounds of the machinery. Especially the sounds of the saw going through the logs. I love your videos and watch all the time but I also find that if I put my phone to my ear I can actually fall asleep better, something relaxing about that sound, crazy right!! Keep up the good work
One time I recommended you needed to put your cut material on saw horses to avoid bending over so much. After watching the view of you guys edging, you need a hydraulic lift table. Easy to load and unload at a comfortable height. 👍👍
Exactly. It might have been used to transfer a car from Germany to Lithuania. But I guess it is pretty rare hanging around in the USA now... Greetings from a German breed living in Austria.
I don't know why I envision what I am but I think a road greater shortly after they became hydraulic, say 10 years after that fact, the cab from a roadgrader would be a perfect cab for that saw mill. I think it would be a greathing because of all the levers and handles in it would be plenty to operate that. Saw might be on to making my own if I ever do this type of solo I think it'd be a great idea
Pith is not usually stable. In hardwood it moves an splits when drying usually. I have had some success wood turning bowls going through the pith. But you are removing most of it
@markgalicic7788 I meant replacing the bit on the shank. They look to be brazed on. It might be cheaper to replace the shank and bit once there is insufficient material left to sharpen. I enjoy your videos. Live close to you in Dormont.
I Understand that the carbide bit could be called a tip as in lathe parlance but I don't understand why what you call the "shank" is still not known as the "gullet". If you take the tip and shank together they make up a tooth I suppose. I like the sharpener and I have a diamond wheel for my small carbide saw blades. I can get a few goes at dressing them before they are ready for the scrap bin.
I like that square oak. I'll have to plant some of those.
🤣🤣

Square oak sure does make some pretty wood.🪵 Looking forward to the triangle birch tree 🌲
I like it lol!
The second log...gorgeous oak, wow, really can't say much more than that !!!!😃
thanks Juan.
That is Chestnut oak. It is a white oak species yet has red tint to the wood. Sadly not enough of it around me as a wood turner I love it.
Thanks Mark and team!

amazing sawing n wood guys ty
thanks Richard.
It's interesting how quickly a log can go from beautiful to junk. I'm still holding out for a zippered hoodie lol.
Bill
yes it does go down fast , I should have them put the art work on the back and a small one on the front.
Good video Bus Motor Productions.

Square oaks make the best flat boards! 🤣🤣😂😂
for sure lol.

thanks Marc.
You guys have friends all around the world.
thanks Alan , we sure do.
Chestnut oak is part of the white oak family. The acorns need to be winter hardened before they will germinate.
that is true JB.
You are probably the only sawyer in the world that would take a straight log with 4 flat sides on the big end, and start sawing it on the angles.
I only have 22" to cut thru so me needs to start on a bevel and it did clear the saw.
Thanks for the detailed view of dressing the bits! How many dressings can the bits take before they wear down to the 1/4 minimum?
glad you liked it , at least 15 or so.
@ thanks, Mark! Would love to see it in person some time!
I liked that edger ballad music as it told the iconic story of just how slow ZZ really is, the song title: 'ZZ Chop-Chop,' made me laugh.
thanks to David Gordy.
@markgalicic7788 In the whole family backslapping theme that goes on here, say hello to your cousin Gordy for me.
com a ferramenta adequada o trabalho é até tranquilo falo aqui do Brasil
very true Robson , Hello Brazil!
@ 02:15 I don't know which camera you just changed to, but that looks like the best camera of all time, clarity is out of this world !!
I have been using this GoPro hero 12 for a year now and it does work great.
Thanks fells,happy Thanksgiving
thank you , Happy Thanksgiving.
Church Pew grade oak right there!!
for sure.
You need to find more square logs, they grow nice clear lumber, lol...
yes for sure Dale , not many out there lol.

Just entertaining boys
What do you do with all the wood that gets cut off when you start working to logs? I love your video's and hope you all have a great Thanksgiving.
1:56-2:02. I've never heard you guys have a serious disagreement...until today. Hopefully everyone went home on good terms.
it's all good.
@markgalicic7788 Good to hear! The music was great on this video too! Thanks Mark, all the best to you and the boys.
Whiskey season 😂
I like it !
Watching from agadir instead of Oxford England 🏴
thanks for watching!
Is there a specific area of PA where square oaks are grown? We've had no success with them in KS. They all seem to grow round........
the chainsaw helped it grow faster lol.
The licence Plate might have come from lithuania, but it is a german short time plate from Berlin.
Exactly. It might have been used to transfer a car from Germany to Lithuania. But I guess it is pretty rare hanging around in the USA now... Greetings from a German breed living in Austria.
not sure but the address was.
Fun video, guys. Mark is right, "chestnut oak, is a species of oak in the white oak group - Quercus sect. Quercus"
thank you.
It is bit hot for hoody here in Australia and it don't get cold enough for them in winter where I live.
send us some heat.
Is the saw blade turned by a belt off of the bus motor and also is the log carrier is it hydraulically driven?
6 V belts drive the saw and everything else is run by hydraulics
Good one Mark once again. By the way how old is the Detroit engine? Cheers. B. K.
thanks Brian , it's a 1985

Chestnut oak is in white oak family yet has a red tinted wood You should have known Eddie was correct. LOL
Never doubt the beard
I did say that.
@@johncox8882 I stand corrected, sir. The beard must be a little rusty.
Doggies doggies doggies! Great second log. As always enjoy watching.
thanks Scott.
New one for me. Never heard of a Square Oak. Looks a lot like Red Oak. How to tell the difference???
Well, DUH... it is square shaped. LOL
just square at the butt.
For a square oak sure looks round to me 😂
just at the butt lol.
@markgalicic7788 oh ok 👍
Can you change one bit, or would that throw it out of balance or make that bit cut heavy.
yes but it needs to be the same kerf , that's why I save worn bits.
Where do I buy the sharper setup at? Iv got the same blade
why dont you want to saw the pith? Great video keep up the good work and be safe.

Good evening Rob.
Back to the burn barrel, huh? Where's the smokeless fire pit from last year?
I still have it at my house , I will be bringing it back to the mill.
Does someone rebit the shank once it is worn out?
I change them out here.
@markgalicic7788 I meant replacing the bit on the shank. They look to be brazed on. It might be cheaper to replace the shank and bit once there is insufficient material left to sharpen. I enjoy your videos. Live close to you in Dormont.
