The MDA Labor Day Telethon was an enchanting yearly variety show that ran for half a century. Hosted for many years by Jerry Lewis, the telethon featured top stars from the world of music, comedy, and Broadway and was like no other show on earth.
The telethon was created to help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which is leading the fight against muscular dystrophy. MDA dedicates itself to strength, independence and life. To learn more about MDA and to donate, please visit www.MDA.org.
When lambchop said that Sheri Lewis was her mommy I just started to cry! I was born in '93 and grew up watching 70's and 80s reruns of sheri and lambchop. Then I watched Lambchop's Play Along until Sheri's passing. She was a hero of mine for so many years. I am so proud of her daughter for carrying on Sheri and Lambchop's legacy. 💖💖💖

Charlie Horse Music Pizza was another good Shari Lewis show. I loved Shari and Lamb chop.
I went to high school with Mallory and she is a total sweetheart. I remember her telling me during a lunch at Bob's Big Boy "Not every girl has a little sister who sleeps in a shoebox in the closet!"😂
My daughter is one and loves lamb chop has dolls of her and can’t get enough. If she is having a bad day it always makes her smile. I grow loving lamb chop now both my kids do to.
Am I the only one who can almost hear Lamb Chop crying when she says "Shari Lewis"?
I loved her Mom and Lamb Chop and Charlie Horse and Hush Puppy...God bless Mallory, she's a chip off the old block! I thank her for keeping her Mom's memory and Lamb Chop going!
I just recently was in target picking up cat food when I found a lamb chop squeeze toy for dogs. My jaw dropped. I grabbed right away. so many great memories came to mind. I was 4 when I first saw Lambchop play along on PBS. It was my favorite over everything. I was 10 when The beautiful Sheri Lewis passed. Hurt my heart. I went through a lot as a child and watching that show brought me so much joy....n peace I hadn't thought of in a while. I just recently lost my Mommy to Cancer. I took it this was a sign. I brought the toy home and watched the show on youtube till i found this. It all brought tears to my eyes. THIS IS THE SONG THAT NEVER ENDS CAUSE IT GOES ON AND ON AGAIN... Thankyou Sheri Lewis hopefully you met my Mommy by now and shes told u how much of a fan I am. R.I.P to you both in LOVE.
I'm glad lamb chop is still making appearances, I grew up watching lamb chops play along, now my dog has a lamb chop doggie toy. Wished children's programming was like it was bad then.
Carrying on in her mothers footsteps, Mallory succeeded.

As a kid in the 60's I had Lamb chop and Charlie horse
Puppets also had a talking Casper the friendly ghost.
They were my pals when I would be scared at night.

But I also remember watching it whenever it came on, but my parents definitely did NOT appreciate me singing along. Lol
I did realize how I needed this until they start singing... And now I'm crying. Lamb chop was a significant part of my childhood.
I remember Shari Lewis appeared on The Nanny and they made a joke about Shari/Jerry Lewis. 😂

Lamb chop's voice is the same Sheri and mallory make lamb chop sound the same we don't even know the difference in voice change after Sheri died in 98.

@@ashleysmith8402 Shari performed pretty much up until her death. She had a tv show in the 90's. Lamb Chop's voice sounded pretty much the same throughout the years.

For a person that’s had a long history of working with Shari up to her mother’s death, Mallory Lewis doesn’t do too bad carrying on her legacy in my opinion.
She's not a a very good ventriloquist I saw her jaw move a couple times.

I'm sure her mommy taught her how to do it well. Shari was one of the best. It is extremely hard to talk well with your teeth clinch

I seriously think that Shari Lewis and Lamb Chop would have made great guest stars on the Muppet Show way back in 1976 - 81. It would have been funny to see the Swedish Chef wanting to cook lamb chops and he have Lamb Chop on a plate. Or perhaps Lamb Chop could have been a patient in Vet's Hospital and make some smart-assed comments.
They were on Captain Kangaroo but I agree. They would’ve been great on the Muppet Show

Shari Lewis one major tough act to follow however, Mallory no doubt made her Mother proud in keeping that star “”Lamb Chop” gainfully employed.
Lambchop, Charliehorse, and Hushpuppy are hilarious… my favorite puppet is Lambchop. Shari Lewis (and her daughter now following her Mom’s footsteps) and Mallory Lewis are the best.

There’s rumors Mallory has been wanting to bring Lambchop and her friends back on TV for a while, I really hope someday she can (and Hush and Charlie can return as well). :)
If it does ever end up happening hopefully she’ll do it the RIGHT way and not end up ruining it making it modern with technology and stuff added to itlike Sesame Street or the Muppets that should of ended YEARS ago after Jim Henson passed. :/ Make it like Sherri’s original like it always was. :)

The Closed Captioning on the song was terrible, but the act was great.
Kind of amazing that during the last couple notes of the song, you hear BOTH of their voices simultaneously!

When Lamb Chop says "I'm real you know you can talk to me," that's no lie. Whatever the context, when the puppeteer puts their heart and soul into their work the puppet as a result is indeed real.

Of course not. Shari was in a league of her own, but Mallory does a damn great job and she's really the only person who could continue the legacy. Rather have a Mallory/Lamb Chop combo than nothing.

I’ve seen her do Hush Puppy, but not Charlie Horse. Perhaps she’s yet to master that character?
Apparently I think unfortunately the other two are retired for now, (Hush she doesn’t do as much as Lambchop so he’s technically kinda that, but as for Charlie, I’m pretty sure he’s definitely that unfortunately as I heard it’s hard for her to do Charlie unlike her mom as it strains her vocal chords. I hope maybe one day she can attempt to do him again and maybe do the voice a different way or something but for now, he’s apparently been retired from that for a while, I think probably ever since Sherri passed after “Charlie Horse Music Pizza” (1998-1999).

Lamb Chop is over 60 at this point. Swollen legs happen a lot to senior citizens.
