The shadow and blending looks like something I can do and will be more my style! I can't believe I've never thought to do this before lol Thank you I am going to try this today!!!
Hi Sally! I hope it went well if you ended up trying it. The liquid is so nice for dramatic looks but the powder version has really become my go-to for everyday. I was doing this look so often on myself and realized I had never shared it here! Hopefully it will work for other people too :)

You’re a good teacher ! I’m going to try this this weekend. I only use liquid liner though because my eyelids are completely hooded and other ones transfer to my hood. Thanks for the tips 😊
Thank you, Rose, so kind of you to say! This technique should work well with gel or liquid liners if you give the liner a bit of time to dry before blinking. I will use a gel or liquid on days I want a more dramatic finish and powders on days I want a more soft focus finish, I hope that makes sense!
I ALSO use only liquid...HOWEVER this works great if you use liquid THEN go over the liquid liner with eyeshadow to soften the harshness of the liner and use only eyeshadow when blending the shape up into the crease as she does in this video. ♥️

OMG! I really hope I can pull this off! This looks amazing!!!! I have naturally very hooded & slightly down turned eyes so trying to find a good technique to do a winged liner has been an unbelievable challenge. TY
Wow this make SO much sense! Excellent video!! I’ve probably watched most of the hooded eye liner videos on UA-cam….…and still don’t feel “confident with my method/skillZ/techniques…..lol Most don’t have hooded eyes or don’t have the crease fold that extends all the way down, so they easily maneuver around the true difficult part. The way you demonstrated & closed the triangle is brilliant, and just that slight bit of final extending/blending into the crease makes it all look so good! I’ll be trying this ASAP, and using settings spray/powder as well….!
Thank you, Beth! So glad to hear this helps, I will be sure to make more eyeshadow videos for hooded and downturned eyes. I just appreciate this video so much because it’s made me so sad over the last year as my outer corner of my eyelid has progressively drooped and not being able to wear winged eyeliner like I used to but now I’ll be able to!
Oh, I am so happy to hear this video was useful. The drooping is natural with age, but it can be so tricky to relearn makeup techniques. I hope this technique has worked for you!
This is great Molly! I learned about the more geometric line years ago for hooded lids...but some jobs that are very low key or conservative don't appreciate such graphic style makeup. They can perceive it as very punk rock or avant garde .. and they don't recognize this as a necessary alternative for hooded eyes / lids, that eat up a regular wing! But closing it off, by extending it into the crease is brilliant! It takes it that step further where it looks less stark, less sudden... and closes it to look more like an intentional cut crease on lids that often don't show much of a crease at all! I LOVE it!!! 💗🙏🌺
You're such a terrific teacher!!! I'm absolute rubbish at makeup, but I've tried your technique this morning and it just works so beautifully! Thank you 💗

@@girlgetglamorous Thank You for your reply. That's a good idea about practicing before washing. I usually play around when I'm staying home, especially if I've micellar'd (word?) myself half to death and am a little red.🙂
This is the best wingline tutorial for the mature hooded eye, l've ever seen on UA-cam, exellent! I'm a makeup artist, and I teach makeup , but your explanation really presious, thank you very much!
Thank you, Naila! I have always learned so much from my fellow makeup artists, I think we are really all our best when we share info. I'm so glad this explanation connected with you :)
Innovative way to hack winged liner for hooded eyes! I struggle with powder eye makeup though because it always seems to irritate my eyes. Would love to see your ideas using regular liquid eyeliner or the marker-y type (sry if you already have vids on this, I'm too tired to go looking but maybe I will later).
I’d love to see it with liquid liner too! I’m trying it with liquid liner because it’s what I have (my shadow was very light and probably isn’t as pigmented as yours). The blending with the liquid liner would be helpful to see because mine is looking like a mess 🤣 LOVE your channel, and love this technique for hooded eyes 💗
Thanks for this! I've been using shadow as eyeliner for years but I could never figure out the wing. I've learned it's because of the partially hooded lids. I love your take with the added blending into the crease to soften the look even further. I was about to buy a gel liner but now I'm thinking I'll just go with a setting spray and try out the shadow again.
Thank you :) Let me know what you think if you try it! You can always try the technique even before getting setting spray to see if you like the shape + finish for yourself. But honestly, I can't do my makeup without setting spray anymore, it's been such a game changer for me!
I love this! I’m beginning to notice some slight hooded eye action. I was so disappointed trying to do a wing with liquid liner and realizing it just wasn’t going to work. I’m excited to try this!
Hi Beth! Let me know how this works for you. I love this technique so much. The technique works with liquid liner also, if you want a more dramatic look! Just make sure to wait for it to dry when you connect the top triangle to the bottom liner (I say from experience, ha!)
Yes!!!! I’m so glad that I did yet another search for this technique hoping to find someone with a similar hood to my maturing skin and I think I found it! Loving the shadow tip. I can go over that with a more waterproof longer wear product like duraline! New subbie here!

Hi Molly I love all your videos they have helped me so much💗 I just tried this on my hooded eyes and it came out perfect 🤩 Im so excited I could do it. Lol xoxox
Hi Danielle! Glad to hear that you use it also! It's such a nice soft look for those days I want a wing, but not a huge "statement" wing. I can't believe how many questions I get on it when I go out with the powder wing on. It's a great look!
That’s something I needed and you’ve explained it so well . May I ask you which concealer you used ? I didn’t find it in the link of the products you used ,It looks so nice and airbrushed and no creasing
Hi Ro! Thank you, glad the explanation was clear :). Yes, I just added it to the link, apologies! It's the barepro stick concealer in shade 04. I've been testing it out for a couple months and really liking it! Great coverage and smooth finish. | myshlf.us/p-307486
I'm 46 and use this method, but I do it free hand with a slightly larger brush (Scott Barnes has a great curved edge angle brush) and build the colour up. I only bring the shadow up and inward, and blend it only into the outer third or so of the upper eyelid. Another tip to keep the eye looking lifted, is don't apply mascara to your lower lashes, it knocks at least 5 years off!
omg! I love it it helped me lift up my small eyes I've been looking for this type of eye wings tutorial for older women like me..thank you I really enjoyed
my eyes have always been this way, I'm 28. thank you so much I can't wait to try thud I've watched 1000s of hooded wing liner tutorials, none of them worked for me because I have those downturns creases outside my eyes, I'd given up hope till now
You are so welcome! Did you get a chance to try this technique yet? Did it work for you? Sorry, I am bit behind answering, I missed a lot of youtube notifications.
@@girlgetglamorous I did try it and I have infact being doing it regularly ever since! I know this sound overdramatic because it's just makeup but your video honestly changed my life, I always felt pretty bummed about not being able to wear winged eyeliner until I saw your technique. Thank you so much!
Thank you for this brilliant tutorial. Now I just need to test it out and see if I can make it work! I'm late 40s now and my eyelids are starting to droop (especially the side I sleep on... 😩) so I'm desperate to find a technique that works and isn't aimed at gorgeous, perky 20-somethings!
I have super hooded eyes one more than the other. This is almost exactly how I do mine. It took some getting use to but this would have been sooo helpful had I found this sooner. It was still pretty helpful. I'm going to try this exactly and see how it comes out. Great video and explanation. Xoxox
Ohh this is fantastic. I struggle with my hooded eyes... One is more hooded than the other of course as well 😉 I'm definitely going to try this! Thank you ♥
Genial! Gracias por compartir este tip de maquillaje. Saludos desde Veracruz, México. Great! Thanks for sharing this makeup tip. Greetings from Veracruz, México.
Thank you!!!! I think I FINALLY found a technique that will work! I'm 53 years old and an awesome winged liner had always been my "signature look." After I turned about 46-47 years old, it was just no longer possible. (Gravity had kicked in...with a vengeance! 😬) Even my family/friends noticed and would ask why I stopped wearing my winged liner. I'd be like "Ummm, hello? Have you seen my saggy-ass eyes???"😳👀 I can't wait to try this! 💗 Also, I'm a Ginger too! (I go dark auburn in the Autumn -Winter and my profile picture makes my hair look dark. I'm a natural red under all that darkness. 😁) We Gingers have to stick together! 😁
@@girlgetglamorous Yes, it sure did! It also helped me do a modified '60s-'70s eye look that I've been trying to replicate! I love how Twiggy, Cher and many of the women used to wear their eyes back then. I do your little truck but I end up continuing the shadow more prominent in my crease. Then I soften/blend it some. I don't do my eye makeup like that every day but when I do, I get compliments. 😁 It's hard to describe what I'm talking about but it's very similar to this... ua-cam.com/video/l_bG22vji3c/v-deo.html
Hi I've been watching a lot of your videos lately which are great by the way and I've love watching them. I've got a weird problem that hopefully you can help with, whenever I put on foundation I tend to sweat I'm a total beginner to full makeup, I was scared of being an oompa loompa when I was a teenager. Thank you for your videos and any help you can give.
Hi Sophie! Thank you, so glad you love the videos! Whenever I'm hot or get sweaty, I will either prime with an oil-control primer OR dust ever-so-lightly over my entire face before I apply foundation with a translucent powder. It seems to keep things at bay for me. I also set with an oil-control setting spray in more hot months. I hope this helps!

Thanks for this video! I’ve never seen it done this way and I’m excited to try it!
Thank you! How did it go for you?
Very helpful tip for my hooded eyes 😏 thank you for sharing 🤗
Thank you, Yolanda! This was a really fun video to make, hope it helps!
Loved the last minutes .. so honest girl.. 👍
Thank you! I love showing the mistakes as well, I think they are so valuable to learn from.
@@girlgetglamorous yes so thoughtful, we learn from our mistakes ... grt going 👍
That is rad! I often try new techniques for winged liner in my very hooded eyes. Definitely want to try this method out.
Thank you, Brandy!! Did you get a chance to try it yet? Did it work for you?
Fantastic tutorial! Thanks 😊
Thank you, Debbie!
I LOVE using eyeshadow as eyeliner! 😁 I thought I was the only one! Haha Awesome tips :)
Hi Danielle! Glad to hear that you use it also! It's such a nice soft look for those days I want a wing, but not a huge "statement" wing. I can't believe how many questions I get on it when I go out with the powder wing on. It's a great look!
So helpful. Im want to try this
Thank you, Jessica! Let me know if you try it!
I use a similar technique, i add a liquid liner to define and help it stay on longer. thank you for sharing ❤
That sounds gorgeous!
Gorgeous. I would never have thought to try it like that, but now I will!
Thank you! Have you tried it yet? How did it work for you?
That’s something I needed and you’ve explained it so well . May I ask you which concealer you used ? I didn’t find it in the link of the products you used ,It looks so nice and airbrushed and no creasing
Hi Ro! Thank you, glad the explanation was clear :). Yes, I just added it to the link, apologies! It's the barepro stick concealer in shade 04. I've been testing it out for a couple months and really liking it! Great coverage and smooth finish. | myshlf.us/p-307486
Best easiest tutorial I ever saw.. I think I can do this now for the first time haha tnx a lot
Thank you! I hope it works for you! I just did this look yesterday for a photoshoot and fell in love with it all over again 🧡
Love
Thank you!
I’m a new subscriber love this beautiful look. Thank you so much!
Thank you, you are so kind to say that! Happy to have you here :)
This sounds great and love the mascara tip!
Omg no one has explained it that good ❤️
Thank you, this means so much to me! I really want the techniques to be easy to follow along with and to try out.
Great idea! I will try it ❤
Thank you, Ena! Let me know how it goes for you :)
The side I sleep on is slightly lower as well, it is wild! I just make sure the wings line up so it all looks even. I hope this has worked for you :)
I have super hooded eyes one more than the other. This is almost exactly how I do mine. It took some getting use to but this would have been sooo helpful had I found this sooner. It was still pretty helpful. I'm going to try this exactly and see how it comes out. Great video and explanation. Xoxox
Thank you, Lucia! Glad you found it now :)
This looks great. Also your eyes are beautiful❤
Ohh this is fantastic. I struggle with my hooded eyes... One is more hooded than the other of course as well 😉 I'm definitely going to try this! Thank you ♥
I hope it's worked for you! One of mine is slightly more hooded also, but this seems to still work for me. :)
Thank you!! Eyeliner is a nightmare for me because of that. You saved my life!! You are soo gorgeous 🥰
I'm so glad the video helped and you are so kind to say that!
The start of the video. 😂 Great technique. Thanks!
😂😂 🧡 I'm giving Euphoria and Adele credit for bringing back my interest in winged liner!
First beautytuber I see, that talks about eye distance!..
👍
Thank you! Makeup is so cool to me how it can transform different areas of the face. So much fun.
The "eyes" have it! Many thanks!❤️
Thank you, hopefully this technique worked for you 🧡
@@girlgetglamorous 👍👍❤️
i try your technical and that’s really easy and looks very good!!thanks!!))))
Thank you! :)

Thank you! :)
This video was the exact solution I needed!! Thank you!!
So happy to hear this, Shannon!
Thank you - this really helps a lot
Thank you, Christine, happy to hear this!
Have you seen my saggy-ass eyes???"😳👀
I can't wait to try this! 💗
Also, I'm a Ginger too! (I go dark auburn in the Autumn -Winter and my profile picture makes my hair look dark. I'm a natural red under all that darkness. 😁) We Gingers have to stick together! 😁
Yes, Gingers for the win, always :) Did the tutorial work for you?
@@girlgetglamorous Yes, it sure did! It also helped me do a modified '60s-'70s eye look that I've been trying to replicate! I love how Twiggy, Cher and many of the women used to wear their eyes back then. I do your little truck but I end up continuing the shadow more prominent in my crease. Then I soften/blend it some. I don't do my eye makeup like that every day but when I do, I get compliments. 😁
It's hard to describe what I'm talking about but it's very similar to this...

Loved it
Please do more hooded eye liner hacks
Thank you so much, I learned how to do my hooded eyes!!!
Love it! Best way i have watched so far!!! Thank u ❤❤❤
Thank you, Natalia!
Great tutorial!! I do mine almost the same, buy you have me good tips to do it better
Hi Esperanza! Thank you, so glad to hear this and hope the tips help. It's a great technique, I believe it's called "batwing liner."
I'm definitely trying this
Hi April! Let me know how it goes for you :)
