kinda cool to see other people using the dinge dangle in their surfcasting. definitely a huge game changer especially wen after sharks or using circle hooks. those south african anglers really created something so effective.
It definitely is a fantastic adaptation to a rig that is proving popular in South Wales. The international team brought this back from South Africa when the world internationals were held there a few years back but it’s only this year starting making its way around to other anglers. Thanks for watching
Hi chaps, just thought. Would you guys be interested in doing a q&a session or a vid dedicated to to technique of striking and how you go about it. Just got back from a session caught 3 but dropped 4 solid bites, 1 strike to early, so 2nd strike to late... and so on. Have been using the silicone tube stop knot on a pulley and up n over rigs, but still think i could improve hook up rate... some vids dedicated to technique could be pretty popular. Cheers for the vids 👍👍🎣🎣
very interesting rig. you should check out billyFishing's Hair rigs. Using hairs similar to this to fish for flatties and used for preservation so you dont deep hook as many
Hi Mark, hook up rate may be very similar however the big benefit is the reduction in tackle loss. I’ve fished pennal rigs and lost end after end then switched to the dongle and not lost another rig all session. For me that’s the main benefit of it. Thanks for watching
It is the dingle dangle that has been rebranded the dongle by some of the Welsh international anglers. They brought back this rig after fishing the world championships in SA a few years back and made some adaptations to suit our style of fishing. It’s only been made more common over the past 6 months or so and had and had amazing results.
I like the way the loop attaches to the bait clip. I find bait clips are a 'challenge' with fish baits. Must try this with slight modification. Have you tried lead lifters?
Can this be used on most rigs like pulley drop downs and up & overs? Does it also have to be a circle hook or can I use something like a chinu or similar?
Life has happened! We both have very busy work and family lives. We hope to get a few videos out in the summer. Thank you and everyone else for being so patient!
Haha knew someone would notice it 😂😂 Interesting about the hounds I think my hook up rate was 15 out of 17 takes. Hooked lost of slack liners usually they’re the ones I miss on the hounds
Hi Stephen, I believe the idea is to allow the hook to move more freely and turn in to the fishes mouth. I think it’s a knot commonly used by long liners with circle hooks so if they’re doing it it must work. Thanks for watching

Stout can make or break you at times Lloyd - Well done for persevering and bagging a few fish 🎣
Good video Lloyd. Clear explanation and good footage 👍
Once again, great video with really good advice. Fish on 🎣
Nice one ,Lloyd ,well fished and explained .
Thanks for sharing Lloyd, good tips once again and I’ll be giving it a go here on the English Channel rough marks.

Awesome Lloyd buddy!! tell Pill to put trousers on for the next live them leggs were shocking lol!!!

Anything then damages the fish less is always a good thing. Thanks for watching James!
Cheers Lloyd, looks a little like a hair rig for carp fishing but scaled up, definatly giving it a go.
It’s exactly that Kris, thanks for watching 🎣
They use the rig for many years in South Africa.
Thank you for the video just watching it best of luck
I like the look of it. I'm gonna give it a try on the gower rough marks I fish
Give it a go mate. It works a treat 👍 thanks for watching
Well done another awesome video lads
Thanks for watching 👍🎣
Great video, thank you
Great video Llody mate will have to give that rig a ago mate
Definitely give it a go mate. It does work 👍
lloyd great video mate fishing how it really is !! that rig is wicked for bass mate stay safe on them rocks chap
Hi Tony, yes it will be great for the smash and grab take of a bass. The hook up on hounds has been incredible this year.
@@BanditFishingUK Lloyd I reckon the cod would like them chap , it's nearly time mate
Tried it it does work like carp hair rigging almost, but I’ve found no difference in hook ups. From a normal pulley pennel, but each to the own 👍

Never heard of the dongle rig but it looks like a good idea! I’ll be giving it a try on some rough ground marks! Excellent vid and explanation!
Thanks for watching James. It is something to consider on the rough and has worked for me.
Nice one mate I will make a few up
Give it a go mate, can be very beneficial in the channel
Excellent rig, very similar to a rig they use in South Africa for Shark
We call it the Dingle Dangle in South Africa. Revolutionised our rock and surf fishing scene.

Well done Lloyd cracking sess mate. But did I here a birdie in that video?? 😂😂
No no no….. no birdies in this video 😂😂
@@BanditFishingUK i must be hearing things 🤔😂 never mind we all get them mate 😉😂
Nice hound. Looks like a really rough mark though. 🎣
It can be very difficult on it’s day but on another you won’t lose a thing. Thanks for watching 👍

Hi Kerry yes tried them in the past but in all honesty if I get a fish on rough ground I want the lead to snap off.
Put circle hook on bottom of bait and wrap it up
Can this be used on most rigs like pulley drop downs and up & overs? Does it also have to be a circle hook or can I use something like a chinu or similar?
Do the fish generally hook themselves or do you need to let the bite develope.
Thanks
They generally hook themselves. With a circle hook it’s just a case of tightening up and steady reeling with get you a fish. All the best!
What happened to the Bandit fishing?
Life has happened!
We both have very busy work and family lives. We hope to get a few videos out in the summer.
Thank you and everyone else for being so patient!
Nice when the thornys are in numbers as you don't deep hook many 👍deffo a marmite rig missed alot of hounds on it when there not really having it .
Nice editing on the crack off too 💪🎣😊
Haha knew someone would notice it 😂😂
Interesting about the hounds I think my hook up rate was 15 out of 17 takes. Hooked lost of slack liners usually they’re the ones I miss on the hounds
@@BanditFishingUK that's a good hook up rate. I fish the clean sand of the lincs coast and found a fixed pennal had the edge
I would probably fish a fixed pennel over clean ground. For me this is an out and out rough ground set up.
Hi great video 👍👍have you only used circle hooks?? Or have you tried others
We’ve only used circle hooks so far but we will experiment more in the future 👍🏼
Works well with the "octopus" type hooks too👍
Where did you get that bait mate from please?
Hi, if you mean the baiting tool, I made it based on one I bought before.
Why does the hook need to be tied on a loop knot, will try this on the Northumberland Rock marks

Thank you just wasn't sure, every day is a school day 😁👍
Do you want the contact info of a decent barber lloyd?? 🤔 only joking mate cracking video as always 👍
Tell me about it mate. Might have to take my bait scissors to it 😂
😄😄 was that a birdie I could hear happening at 05:42 🙄
Hi lloyd what did you replace your T 900 with.
Hi, I replaced them with a pair of Tronixpro competition match GT
5:40 - Hate that sound...
Been having a few lately, turning the mag off a little bit too much 😂😂
