Got this with the Magic Keyboard and everyone is probably wondering if it works with a glass screen protector or not. Rest assured, the iPad along with the pitaka case, which actually came with a plastic screen protector for FREE (not mentioned in the box or on the website), can allow the magic keyboard to close properly unlike the switcheasy case. Backstory: I bought an elecom kent paperlike screen protector for my iPad which I bought refurbished around the same time. The iPad came with a case and a glass screen protector preinstalled which I didn’t expect. I was reluctant to peel away the glass screen protector without first testing it out, even though at this point I had 2 extra screen protectors then necessary, and to my surprise it fitted perfectly. The pitaka case has a raised edge on the side so even with the glass screen protector, the iPad wont actually rest on the screen when placed front down. Off note: The pitaka case is said to be made with this amazing aramid fiber but honestly it’s on the part of the pad that rests on the back of the keyboard. The sides of the case is made with a cheap plastic that won’t actually protect the pad that much at all if it gets dropped. It just adds a little protection agains’t scratches which can be achieved with a ‘skin’. No the corners don’t magically biodegrade like someone on amazon mentioned, but it will definitely chip along with the ipad if it was dropped at waist height.
Does it protect the camera hump actually ? I want to lay the tablet on regular desk without worrying about the camera scratches. I don’t care about drop protections at all.
Almost a perfect accessory but like other have said, the sides aren't that durable and if you do choose to use this with your magic keyboard, you will be forced to use those paper-thin screen protector instead of a more protective tempered glass screen protector because the case won't close flush/properly if you use the latter.
Bought this case and regretted it. Only had it for two weeks and today both corners started crumbling on its own. Never dropped iPad with this case. Made with very brittle plastic. Buyer beware. Waste of $69.
Wow I had the exact same issue, after only one week, they sent me a replacement which was the old version of it and even worse plastic. I waited for 3 months to get the blue one and they send the replacement on in black and said sorry the blue is not available!! I said b!t$h!!!
Same here, this is the worst case on the market. Just pressing the buttons it broke. Bought it from Amazon, sent it back and the new I got also broke in less then a few days. Waste of money they worst product I ever got.
It doesn’t seem like the protective holder for the Apple Pencil anymore, which is a shame. I’ve found a few other products I think will work for my needs, but this product you’ve featured here looked great. Do you remember what it was called ?
Just got it . Wish I had it a year ago. Smart Keyboard folio has weak magnets. Got iPad Air 4 it is durable . Have Amfilm papered glass screen protector has no problem shutting flush and connects no issues. Thanks for your review, got this instead of coverbuddy . It’s expensive but worth it. Still be putting magic keyboard in a sleeve before putting in my bag 💼👍🏽👍🏽
When mine’s snapped on, my Apple Pencil doesn’t charge or register at all 😕 I’ve also noticed how with yours aswell, it doesn’t seem to align perfectly with all the holes etc along the sides of the iPad? It had me wondering if I just somehow didn’t manage to snap mine in properly but yeah, trying my best, the Apple Pencil issue is a real issue for me.
My problem with the case is the bottom expose. I would cut a carbon fiber skin a put it. That is the one that match the best. I'm not taking a chance safety.
You would have to put a skin anyway because that area needs to be clear to shut the Magic Keyboard case without clearance issues. It gets REALLY close to the side of the iPad. Also the Keyboard Folio needs that area clear to dock properly.
@@DarrinLin it doesn't need to be clear, they can add that side as well and it would close completely, it's super thin and wouldn't make a difference but they don't because they want it to be compatible with both folios and magic keyboard. So as of now, there's still not a true magic keyboard compatible case.
Robin Huang Version 2 from 2020 fits perfectly on the iPad pro 12.9 has stronger magnets and has no problem with the magic keyboard.,take my word for it i use this product and it is 👍 great
It should be available now. Expensive af so it better be worth it. Also didn't know payment is considered international since ts a Chinese company and cost me a international fee from my bank. After a two days they'll give you an exclusive 10% off discount to buy anything from the site. Just a tip since this is a pre-order you have to wait to get it anyway. Might as well get a solid discount if you can.
How cool are both those products????!!! I’ve been looking for a protective case that is Magic Keyboard compatible! Thanks for sharing! It appears the only drawback is that they say you can’t use it with a screen protector…
I bought this case off amazon and its really nice but it didnt come with that wallet clip to secure the pen. Does anyone know if you can buy that seperate somewhere?
This looks like maybe scratch protection. I need shatter protection from when someone drops the iPad. Doesn't look like this case gives the kind of protection you need for a kid's iPad.
Would be great if you could try to use the pitaka case with the Smart Keyboard Folio as well, I’m wondering whether it fits since the announcement of pitaka. Thanks in advance 🙋🏻♂️
Yes, it does with with they keyboard folio! That’s why there is a slot cut out of one side, so that it can still attach at the notches that let you set the iPad at an angle
Hi, I'm looking into getting this for my 12.9 ipp. Does the ipad still wobble after putting the case on or is the camera now flush with the rest of the case?
I've been waiting for a case like this. The SwitchEasy CoverBuddy sucks. I hate the added bulk with the apple pencil "holder", and I can't plug in my APPLE usb-c cable that came with my MacBook Pro. So stupid.
Agree with both things you noted - the holder for the pencil seems really bulky and the USB-C cable pops out that came with my MacBook Pro as well. In fact, the pencil holder makes it hard to adjust the volume on the iPad. I’m hoping this design will be a little less bulky and work better with the USB-C cable.
Thanks for this video. I’ve been looking for this exact type of item, especially for reading online books. Is there a cover for the actual keyboard? Great videos. thanks!
I hope the three connectors on the cover work I have purchased 2 of the cover buddy the first on one of the pins fell out of the case and the second case two of the pins stayed in the connection and will not stick out so no connectivity.
Hey there just checking when you were reviewing this did you have a screenprotector on. Saw another video where the guy had an issue closing the magic keyboard properly with his glass screen protector on. Thanks!
My only problem with this case is the three pen connector. In many cases non Apple products start off working, but some time after, they stop working. I have many power accessories that are non Apple and no longer work. It would be a shame to buy this at $70 and the three pen connector stop working.

How strong is the magnets between the cover and the magic keyboard? Is it gonna fall off easily or stick to it very well.
Exactly my question. There are similar concept covers, but problem is they reduce significantly the force which holds the tablet on magic case. So very important where Pitaka stands.
And another question would be that most covers used together with magic case shifts the center of gravity. So there is more likely to roll over the tablet when used on lap or similar position.
And of course its just platonic discussion if there is no price known yet.

That case looks sexy af, but I has too many faults, first the plastic is so thin and brittle that it’ll crack the first time you put it on like mine did, then there’s the magnets towards the bottom, they don’t hold on strong enough to stay put when you’re opening it so the iPad kinda flings put on the bottom before you even pop it open to the first position so it can damage the awful material the Magic Keyboard is made of, and then glass screen protectors don’t work with it, so I just got a DBrand sking for my iPad and the Magic Keyboard.
