Wonders lol. 11:10 - I main French and I find that if I A-move behind archers that are right in front of a house, they sometimes target the house with torches, even when I've definitely not clicked on the house. I suspect the same thing is going on here. Sometimes you've got to just micro and click on the unit in the front, even if that means overkilling, just so all the knights can get charges off and so can do the French knight bonus damage afterwards.
not just knights but most units tend to attack the nearest thing even if its just a house if you A-click, ignoring nearby enemy units. this is why micro is so important when you attack an enemy base, to make sure your army attacks the enemy army instead of a random house while they get shot with arrows.
Watching these high level players always blows my mind how they can be doing so many things at once. A friend and i are currently doing a series where we (2 complete noobs) play online and we can't quit until we win a game. It is not going well...
unless you're only playing custom games you should find people on your level pretty fast

A wonder should be a landmark. (In my opinion, unless someone can tell me why not)
Landmark when finished build cannot change location if overrunned. By making Wonder not Landmark, it could be built up in other places if destroyed, give more strategies in play (this is impossible in 1v1 but able in team game).

Great great legedary game from both. I think Kasva could have done better doing the same, a handful of villagers surrounding the seiges, beasty invested tons of resources just to destroy them. I guess Kasva needs to practice tension macro from now on.

Funny wonder story. last night i was playing a 2v2 and we were in a deadlock on both sides slowly making ground. they build a wonder, during a big battle i sneak 3 royal canons around and deep, and up the trade route all the way to the wonder. 2 vollys and it was dead. using the noise of the trade route at the back of the base till i was close enough felt big brain. killed it with 4 min left.
7:18 , if I had to read Beasty's mind, I would say he wanted to trick Kasva into thinking "Oh this is just a mill for the boar". that way he wouldn't reveal a TC drop.

Aussie lad I'm from Sydney Australia, I just started watching age of empires stuff I'm so addicted! I haven't played since I was 9 years old age of empires 1 on a fat sqaure box screen I'm now 31. Can I play age of empires 4 on a average laptop?

i dunno. this is why i dont think its necessarily balanced to allow civs to beable to generate a very limited resource like stone. while others cant. it would be more worth if maybe civs that cant could purchase a trade upgrade for like a 5% stone on trade. so at least there isnt such a I can make stone out of air and you cant haha

It was definitely beasty's advantage. However, kasva got 3 out of the 4 small deer packs spawning on his side.
lol, 32 traders at 2900 gpm...35 ottoman traders bring in almost 6500 gpm :P with both 40% boosts stacked its an insane 196% gold traded
This match showcases what I don't like about late game AoE4. It's just a drag to try and destroy the base of a defensive player in the late game. Kasva had 5 cannons which are stupidly expensive units (even if rus have cheaper ones) and sort of easy to kill and still couldn't push past Beasty's entrance. Either cannons need to be stronger or trebs need to have some meaningful imperial age upgrades so that they could be more viable in a game like this. Either way, well played by Beasty.
Going to play a little devil's advocate on this one. I think that late game AoE4 is very unexplored because so few games reach that point. Most late game matches even with pros just turn into spam fests with no thought or strategy as they just hope their unit comp wins against the enemy by brute force. Kasva tried to win by spamming units into a choke point right next to Beasty's defenses and production. Not once did he try and push another flank to force the armies to split. What if he took 10 spearmen and built 8 or 9 rams on that west flank? He could have forced beasty to overcommit and allowed his east flank a better opportunity to break through. I have a hunch that rams in Imp are under valued. They are cheap and only cost 1 pop. Perhaps the investment of needing infantry to build them feels too much? Maybe allowing them to be built from the siege workshop might make players use them more?
I do not know that statistics but i would venture to say that only around 5-10% of games reach this level of stalemate so players do not have plans or strategies on how to break strong defensive positions and often just attempt to make the more expensive stuff they can thinking they can just brute force the issue. I say all this with being open to the possibility there is not enough in the game to counter strong late game defensive positions and maybe something like petards from AoE2 should be added to give players an option to quickly destroy a large amount of infrastructure that opens a window of aggression. However as of right now my position is that players will learn how to deal with stalemates eventually it just takes longer since they are exposed to it so little compared to something like fuedal aggression which you see almost every game.

can we petition for the Rus to start with 50 stone like the Ottomans? So that they can get that 2nd TC up quicker like old times. They really need it right now
Then they would again gain the ability for a 2nd tc without counterplay which is way too strong and would be again the only playstyle for them which would be boring. I would rather see a buff in their bounty system. Either something like 15 Gold per deer or a buff to their boni, so that people would again play more around it.
@@OptimusCrime4444 I think the bounty buff would make em more versatile but that would make it broken. A faster TC doesnt make a civ hard to beat ... do you see most people do an early 2TC with Ottoman despite the extra stone? If anythign it'll slow the Rus aggression down cause they'll need the extra food to boom
@@MrAtaguas yeah, but the devs intendet that if you go for a second tc, it should be able to be denied by super fast Aggression. In the two tc meta not even the fastest french build order could deny it.
You could not stop the two tc from rus to happen. If you try, you would be far behind. And if you go two tc yourself, you are stsrting from a disadvantage, because rus would build their tc faster and have a 20% wood gather bonus together with whatever foodgather modifier you got from the bounty. This Was the reason rus was the strongest civ by far, because you would start from behind by default. This is bad gamedesign
@@OptimusCrime4444 that doesn't make any sense what about the french vil production bonus and song dynasty. A advantage in villager production isn't game breaking and having 1 or 2 extra vils at 6 minutes aisn't gonna do shit

The levelling of walling in this game is getting revolting. Devs really need to curb this
First stone wall came up at 17 min into the game. Only way to curb it more is to just not allow walls to be built ever. Compared to AoE2 walling is almost nonexistant in AoE4.

Kasva ran out of gold in the late game. He didn't setup trade even after 35 minutes.. did he expect the passive gold to carry him through?
plus going for so many military buildings in the enemy base is a weak strat.
the trade has to be nerfed, because we will see more and more this turtle strategy games, what i am not big fun on it. I hate play against this strategy. Malians and english are possible to do same thing. It will be lot of stone walls, springels and hunt 18k resources. Who will first drop the wonder he win.
English and malians cant get 6000 stone plus another 6000 for this Many walls and keeps
i though this allways would happend on this kind of maps, this is why I ban them

@@maxmustermann3811 because of the ability to mass produce armies, the military schools that save a part of the resources, having the possibility to build stone walls and the janissaries have damage bonus against cavalry.
