I go to discovery ridge alot because how close you can get to the pond with your boat. Only thing about it is the skeletons but I rarely get them while fishing
If I didn't hear it or whatever my bad but.. If u check barrels in the shipwrecks they commonly have different varieties of cooked meats - fish kraken mega etc
Gotta catch em all! I really enjoyed hunting all those fishies down, hardest to catch were the muddy wildsplash due to murky water, Forsaken Devilfish, BlackCloud Wrecker due to the rng to even get one to possibly spawn, and the Sand Battlegill. the last fish I needed and boy it took forever!
I was about to say how you forgot to tell how Mermaid has _three pans,_ so you can cook 3 pondies at the same time, but... then I see your friend stepped in their and mentioned it. But it does save a lot of time, and is also way less boring than cooking on the ship! Also I think you forgot perhaps the best tip on levelling up there is. Which is being on a big galleon where everyone fish, and being in a big alliance with others that fish. Fishing with 4 players levels you up twice as fast as fishing with 2 players. And you do level up on what your alliance catches as well. Here's a difficult trick on how to get an alliance of galleons going. Gather a large crew(8 or 12 peeps ideal) and let everyone start a game at the same time. When you're all in the game, then put up your reapers marks and check your map for other reapers mark on outposts. Once two players(if 8 or less players) or three people(if 12 or less players) discover they are in the same server, then all the other players will leave their ships behind and join these galleons. And voilá, you've got yourself an 8/12 crew fishing fleet. If you're a fisherman or two short, just open the crew and force the random to fish. This might lead to overfishing and a reduction of fish spawning, but if that's the case then just take a lesson from Canada when they had this problem and start clubbing baby seals to death. Fun times.
The pond in the middle of Hidden Spring Keep is where I farm fishing. Maximum only 1 tussle before being able to reel in a fish on the first try. Just make sure you face the “beach” of the pond and be IN the water
If you’re fishing for the most gold the best option that I’ve found so far is to stockpile as many worms as possible, then do your business as normal run a quest sail around etc. Whenever you find a shipwreck use all of you worms on trophy wreckers (wreckers are on par with stormfish as the most expensive standard fish excluding rares) then once you’re out of worms go turn em in, it’s very quick and you’ll get around 3-8k depending on your worms
Dude 37?? I'm Level 4. I really like the fact that we can fish now but I don't like do sell them because you only get a ridiculous amount of reputation and gold. I just fish while driving but I eat them later.
Fun tip, if you run into a lot of people at mermaids hideaway, at the shores of gold there is a really small pond next to the kraken vault. I use that one a lot. (Obviously only works if you have shores of gold)
Jacob Moler If you want to commendations you are going to have to redo it. I’ve done it 4 times. And got all my pondies already. Only ran into 1 ship after being there for hours. But they were friendly and we just helped them with the upper half of the shores of gold
If anyones still interested in hunters call, the updated way is to finish a phantom fort (green fort) and fish inside the basement area as it only spawns pondies and there are 4 stoves within the fort
The rare battlegill sells for over 4k, not 3k. also, it's the exact same amount as wreckers. So go to wrecks first, use all your earthworms, THEN go to the fort ^^
I just realised I’ve sold each type of battlegill, meaning I’ve sold the sand battlegill. But the thing is, I don’t remember ever catching/selling it 😂 can someone tell me how much reputation you get from a sand battlegill? Great video btw really helpful I am a solo sailor and I hope to grind some fishing in future. These were some great tips 👍
Don’t listen to him on mermaids hideaway go to Hidden Springs keep no skellys there when the fort is not active Cooked fish is 20% better Don’t try to farm sand Battle gills you will drive insane I would not recommend this method
Yes hunters call is almost the easiest to level. Super easy and honestly I got hunters call, arena, and Athena rep to 50 to get my pl. The Athena was the easiest because I just had to sell a bunch of chest of legends to get level 50 in it
The best strat is wreckers 100 percent have someone check on the ship wreck every 20 mins.. you can also have one crew mate stock up on grubs/leeches and use a rowboat in a different area
Just gonna ask this here, maybe someone know: You mentioned that cooked fish gives more reputation than uncooked fish. Ofc this also makes sense to me, but are your sure about that ? Like i said ofc it would make sense but i could swear that i read that it doesn't matter reputation wise if you cook it or not. Maybe someone know it "for sure". Still well made tho !
I tested this as I wasn't sure myself, cooked fish do indeed give more rep, I sold a cooked and uncooked Forsaken Devilfish within the same level and although the uncooked also recieved a commendation level giving extra rep it was still less than the rep recieved for the cooked 1. So I am pretty confident in saying that cooked fish do indeed give more rep, but not 50% more as with gold, I would estimate about 20% more.
“Watch those mermen. Sneaky devils they are!” Ironic that Merrick says this, because Mermaids Hideaway is one of the best places to grind hunters call, with the Seapost close by, the pond in the centre, and the fact that it’s a large island means you can get more than 1 mermaid statue for gems. It makes you wonder if he’s gone and lost it from too much grog.....
Nyxxose he says that cause his wife ran away with a merman while he was hunting the original megalodon in the hungering deep hahaha cant believe that event is about to be a year old!! jayzus time flies
Whats the deal with islehoppers? I found a spot where i cought one every time i cast a baited line. Xp was great. Idk if those are better than pondies though.
Enderlord 0007 didnt wanna say haha but i sat in the center of shark bait cove on the rock, i tested it 10 times. I used grubs and worms. 1/10 was a splashtail. The other 9/10 were stone islehoppers. 2/9 of those were trophy stone islehoppers.
There is a better spot for pondies, its in one of the skull forts in the shores of plenty, i cant remember what its called, but i do know its a single cast and since its a skull fort no skeletons will spawn unless it turns into an active fort
@@inportrace so that does mean if i have Order of Skull, Gold Hoarder and Hunters Call lvl 50 i can call myself a Pirate Legend and start doing the Athena Fortune Voyages ?

I don’t believe that the gems we can sold at Hunters Call, OMG! I was since the update came out fishing trophy fishes to get rep.
Another good island for pondies is Hidden Spring Keep fort. It's much easier here since no skeletons spawn on inactive forts
I prefer wreckers, they sell for the same as battlegills but you don’t have the danger of a skull fort or as high of a chance to meet other players.
Selling gems which you get from the Athena Thieves Haven Run is more efficient i think. Because you get like 100k...
