!!!!Here is a tip i don't hear people talk about... You don't take damage from gunpowder explosions if your hiding in a cannon great for running forts solo or if some drops a barrel on your ship just hide in the cannon and u wont take any damage
When a kraken has wrapped around your ship, ignore that tentacle and cannon the nearest tentacle in the water. You might have to also hit the next tentacle that shows up closest to you after you kill the first, but the wrapped tentacle will always detach afterwards.
The wrapped tentacle passively damages your ship more though and doesn't allow you to turn your ship and cannon tentacles as easily so its probably a good idea to kill it fast. Maybe not with your sword though cause that actually hurts you..

Also you can just plug your mouse and keyboard into the xbox. You have as many options as you limit yourself to. I have 3 footswitch keypedals (hotkeys) as well as a left hand gaming keyboard and a 10keyless (Text chat) all at the same time on xbox one x.

Charging your thrust when blocking and when you thrust with your sword jump at the end of the thrust or in the startup of it.When Climing up a ladder you can drop from the top of it then cach it at the end of the ladder so that the ship your bording thinks you miss clicked but your still on it works trust me

Nice tips but I really hate this trend going around where EVERY game had to be Esports ready and people need to be the best or high tier players etc. Can we just have a game that's fun and not competitive to the point everyone feels the NEED to be try hards? It's just annoying I can't do anything in the game without having to sink or be sunk by people. There's no working together or having funny experiences because everyone is terrified in this game. Shame Rares vision for this game is being changed because of such a competitive community
