Epic, fantastic, glorious, cult, heroic, dark, mystic...This album is a chef d'oeuvre. Whenever i listen to it i go back in time, throughout the centuries and ages, till the times of the norse beliefs, the times of fafner, elves and nazguls! This album always gives me the need to meditate in front of the ocean, or deep in the woods!!

omg i finally found the song that was driving me crazy and its 793. the chanting was stuck in my head for a week.
This band sure loves long keyboard intros for their albums, lol.
They used to.. now they long long back and forth prog tracks
but they're always nice with Enslaved, and this one is particularly beautiful and epic. Most albums from other bands, intros like this are just an immediate skip.

I've been into black metal for years, including Enslaved, but for some reason I discovered this album only a few days ago. Especially the first song is very well crafted, probably one of Enslaved's best
Had to get it through a shop that ordered imports back then. You wouldn't find it at K-Mart dude.

What a great album, I see some refinement over the previous ones, which were very raw. The somewhat cleaner production helped this one a lot, helped all the ideas shine, although all three of their early albums are certainly masterpieces.

Chickens are pretty rare in metal. "Chicken Dance" by Goatlord has them, but only the original mix.

Zajebisty album, szkoda tylko, że doceniłem go 20 lat po premierze, a wcześniej uważałem że w porównaniu z dwoma pierwszymi to chujnia. To jedyny przypadek, że tak dużo czasu minęło zanim zrozumiałem i doceniłem jakąś płytę, a słucham tej muzy od pierwszej połowy lat 90-tych.
Vikingligr Veldi ciężko porównać do czegokolwiek później …nawet geniusz Frost był już zupełnie inny ale Eld…szczególnie do niego lubię wracać najczęściej z perspektywy czasu i minionych lat po jego premierze
Haha, when I saw those guys at Roadburn this year they told us they were going to a play a song with a titletrack of 3 letters (Isa of course). I was very tempted to scream 'Eld' as I've never seen them playing a song of this album. I would really love to get rid of half of my posessions to see them play 793. The Roadburn set was still great though (they rarely play Loke live, love that song). And Alfablot as well. :)
Update: I just saw them play this entire album at Beyond the Gates. Didn't get rid of half of my possessions but I sure am broke now with absolute zero regrets haha
I really like this band. Almost every album from them. My favorite is Frost, then vikinglir Velid, then this. This is one of my favorite viking metao albums. Followed by Adorned Brood's Wigand, and falkenbach

This was the first Enslaved album I owned. It always sounded to me like they recorded it on a rickety old ship
