Great review and video! I have an unusual request. Please could you do a review/pov of the Infiniti Q30 sport or QX30 sport ( Infiniti has strange naming for different countries) or the QX30 ( the 'crossover' version of the Q30). Thank you
Sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know of a trick to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb forgot the login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Tripp Bryson i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I just gotta say you are a very underrated reviewer. I found you because of the veloster r spec and n video. I thought it was because of how awesome the veloster is. But you're just a great reviewer with a nice pov.
tokekkk Yeah I know. That’s a really good move on them. They should implement them in all their cars but the rest still seem to be getting the Jatco CVT’s. Shame tbh
You can tell which companies are struggling based on what rental companies keep in stock. Most rentals are nissans, which means manufacturer is offering big discounts for rental fleet purchases...thus they are struggling in retail
True. I travel a lot and I’m a Hertz Gold Member. Years ago, you’d be lucky if there was one vehicle like this in the whole local airport fleet, but they also have Camaro SS and Dodge Challenger R/T’s to give out to almost everyone as well. Half of my rentals last year have been both of those vehicles.
TheTopher seems really positive about it though... I wonder if the passenger is holding a large kitchen knife. We need to work out some kind of signal he's under duress, like tap his left pinky on the steering wheel twice.
Still have it? I am considering one and wondering about the wind noise or general loudness. The seats are what hooked me to be honest. I sat in an Altima with those zero seats and it was perfect.
Checked one of these out at the autoshow. Really a surprisingly nice interior and the exterior was pretty sharp. Shame that the CVT makes it a complete never-buy. An SR Turbo with a stick might actually be compelling if they bring that trim back.
Not all cvt’s are bad. Toyota’s new corolla transmission (cvt) is turning out to be pretty great !!! If they were to use that cvt then it would be a total game changer for Nissan!
Nissans cvt is vastly improved my family has a 2020 corolla with the take off gear and my 2019 Altima is much quicker off the line (I know it has more power) but the take off gear leads to a drop in rpm sometimes when it changes over which may confuse some people
I don't mind CVT's as a transmission if they're good, but Nissan has proven that theirs is made from spare parts lying around the shop and held together with hot glue
All the Nissan haters will comment on this video. Supposed “haters” comment on every single video. @6:00 on I’m proud of Nissan with everything y’all complement. Now that’s a real review. Not a HATER. Nissan knows what they’re doing. People talking shit because of Cvt y’all are a joke. Why I love my 16’ Altima. It’s quiet, 6speaker sound system (as this one) is excellent for a non-bose system, smooth, and quick to accelerate. Can’t wait for the mid-cycle-refreshed 2022 Altima.
Andrew K It’s because the Cvt adjusts to help engine brake in these situations. If you’re still at a stop the cvt will still be in that same position until it re-adjust for regular acceleration. Happened to me as well in my 16 Altima.
Dakota Daniel thank you for clarifying, I’ve been wondering this for so long! I have a 2010 Altima and i took it to the dealer and mentioned that issue as well as many other issues when my transmission was starting to fail and they claimed it was something with ABS getting “stuck” and it was operating as designed, but now I’m on my second transmission and soon to be 3rd in 85k miles lol
Andrew K Yeah this specific thing is nothing to worry about...However 😳 almost your 3rd cvt in 85k miles holy dookie!! Lol. Do they tell you what component is actually failing?
Dakota Daniel first time was valve body/stepper motor, dealer didn’t replace but “fixed it” but that created more issues, they over filled the CVT, and I had issues with the valve body again after they “fixed it” (I have a few videos on my UA-cam) as well as a hesitation going into reverse from drive and vise versa, so they claimed I just had internal CVT pump failure and changed CVT, and now this second transmission with 7k miles will have RPM’s go up high under normal acceleration and then it’ll jerk hard, and if accelerating slowly in traffic, the rpm’s will doo really low then jerk and go up again which happened a few times in one day and hasn’t happened since so I’m not sure, also warranty ends in April of my CVT. Looks like I need to get rid of it
Andrew K yikes...Yeah I know the older Cvts in that body style had major issues based off of the poor design. Pretty sad they can replace it and still due to that design it’ll still fail. I know 13’s did have their issues as well, and they finally did a software update I think in 15’. So hopefully my 16’ continues to work properly! 😳😳😳 But also glad I purchased the Gold Warranty through Nissan last week after my power train expired.
I love nissan compare to honda. I have honda accord 2019 after 2 months i sold it. I bought a nissan altima s 2019. The seat are very comfortable and its fun to drive. After a few weeks my wife sold her honda hrv. And she buy a nissan rogue sv 2019. Now we'ere happy with our ride... thanks nissan...
Seems like a decent ride. However, there’s nothing compelling about this car in an extremely competitive market, especially compared to the new Mazda3. The CVT is a complete dealbreaker strictly due to reliability. Countless cases of transmissions blown before 50k miles. I understand they made tweaks but for a nonperformance econobox, reliability should be impeccable.
That sports mode is simulating gears good. You can see the car sort of shift. I have a 2015. Very high rpms. And in sport mode at a light with overdrive off......Its a wrap for anyone! lol
2020 looks like a luxury compact sedan! Woweeeeee! Look out Audi A4! Even drives in cold weather conditions too! Nice! Got Mercedes shape circular vents too!
Though you may have driven it, I was unable to find a review of the new Kia Forte in your video list. I'm curious to know which one of the two (Sentra, and Forte) is the better car in your opinion. Thanks, and I enjoyed this video.
I have a request, could you review the updated 2020 Nissan Titan Pro 4x (non hd) once it hits dealers? Thanks. I've watched your channel for years; always my "go to" for reviews.
Too bad Nissan didn't add 25 more horsepower to compete with the Civic, Corolla, and Mazda3. It just seems underpowered in comparison which is a shame because its a big time upgrade from the previous Sentra.
Do you really think 46 year guy cares about having wireless charging or auto deeming rear view mirror . its a beauty for my every day comute with all the safety features standard a cross the whole trim line on Sentra that's what meters the most
Beautiful design but still underpowered. The engine sounds like it's going to explode at any moment courtesy of the CVT. If Nissan offered a manual and a turbo version I might have sprung for it.
That should be a Nissan S... SR should be turbocharged or why not revamp the sr20ve? Why is Nissan content to sit behind the Honda's or Toyota Corolla XSE, Hyundai 1.6 turbo? Where is the 1992 SE-R Nissan power pocket rocket spirit? Nissan is way behind the competition and that's coming from a Nissan guy. I owned a '95 240sx S14 KA24DE. Also had three different types of Sentra's 2003 1.8 liter twin cam five speed GXE, it was fun. Also had a 2.5 Spec V 6spd blue. A direct injection with dual VVT-L from the sr20de or the sr20ve and even the Neo SR16VE N1? The sound system sounds outstanding!!!
Get used to CVT's and turbos, dont blame Nissan, blame the goverment for wanting insane gas mileage out of all these cars, we will all go 1.5t and CVT.
@Braylon chandley you are right, the highway mpg is not very bad. But still worse than Kia Forte and Hyundai Elantra. As of the city mpg it is even worse though.
Just bought a CPO 2020 Sentra SV, and noticed some weird braking 'feature' at least I think it is. Basically if I get up to 40+ and begin to stop at a red light like a standard stop, I notice the braking toward the end kinda 'gives'. Not like a jerk, but a release feeling and then it goes back to the harder brake. Is this normal? I'm researching and not seeing anything on this yet. Didn't notice during test drive. Planning to bring to mechanic on Monday.
Civic out of the box has 158hp up to 180hp. Sentra SR starts at 149hp. I have a 2014 Sentra SR myself, and its not a fast car, it's a quick car. The handling has an off feel, and it's hard to determine when cornering, but after you get the hang of it it can be fun. Just don't expect to pass anyone. Also, may not have room for upgrades. There's no way I could put a turbo in my SR. I've contemplated engine swap but it does not make sense. I'd be better off buying a late version BMW or 360 for 5-6k. Just depends on what you want. If you want sporty looks, upgraded tech, and a fuel friendly family car then this will work. But if you want speed and power get the civic. You can do so much more with those cars mechanically.
Mazda makes more power and has a larger engine (2.5l vs 2.0l, 185hp vs 150hp. The steering wheel is similar other than the d shape on the Nissan and the infotainment is mounted similar. They aren't exactly "copying Mazda."
Oh, that CVT sounds horrible! CVT's have got to go from all manufacturers, and if you're touting your car as a sports car, it needs to be all or rear wheel drive!
Honda CVTs are way way better then these. Unlike Nissan Honda actually tries to make their transmissions enjoyable to drive especially in their 1.5 Turbo Civics. Other companies have had CVT transmissions figured out by now.

The CVT’s are killing Nissans brand. If only they went back to typical geared transmissions.
The new Juke is using DCT
tokekkk Yeah I know. That’s a really good move on them. They should implement them in all their cars but the rest still seem to be getting the Jatco CVT’s. Shame tbh

JATCO, that's the problem.

The day Nissan gets out of CVT is the day I’ll walk into a Nissan dealership and buy a car. I’ll take one over a Camry. (IF THE CVT ISN’T IN)
They should remove their ties and supplies with Jatco transmission. Make Nissan(Datsun) great again like pre 90s!!!! 🇯🇵
This isn't a Camry competitor, more like a Civic, or Corolla.
Rhan Dumz yeah but I’d like the Altima. Sorry I wasn’t specific.

My 2016 Sentra SV is zippy and fun to drive in the city but has absolutely zero guts on the highway, which is annoying

You don’t need awd. It’s marketing.
@@TheTopher You're right, no one needs it, but I want it. :) And, I would always choose rwd or awd over fwd.

“20 mpg in the city” my car with 259 horsepower and 295 torque gets 21
Andrew K *28 mpg
