I find it uncomfortable and my legs would rather be stretched out, so, even if I did fall asleep curled up in a ball, more then likely, in the morning I'd be all over my bed. Your face silly. When you sleep on your stomach gravity pulls the skin forward and down down creating wrinkles. When you sleep on your back it pulls it back and helps wrinkles from forming. Having said that I sleep like the last person, so I guess only half my face will have wrinkles. :)

actually, our bodies (and the bodies of animals) sleep in positions more heavily influenced by temperature and maintaining homeostasis while not conscious. during the summer you're more likely to spread out while in the winter you curl up. that's where the saying "curl up by the fireplace" comes from because by making yourself smaller you lessen surface area in which heat can be lost to a colder atmosphere and when spread out, you can release heat inside your body from the extra surface area.

When I am cold or something I am on the side curled up. Usually though I am on the side or face down with one of my feet (depending on the side my head is facing) on the corresponding side.

I fall asleep on my side, I wake up on my stomach most of the time. I will have my hands underneath my chest directly over where my heart is, almost like I'm guarding it when I'm on my stomach. When I wake up on my side (which is fairly rare) my arms are outstretched and my hands between my knees. I think that's hereditary or something. My father does it, and I've noticed my niece do it.
