Just Retune slightly around earlier discard/draw and and Rename the deck "Burning Waste" edit: you can also sac the treasure tokens to Gargadon to bring in the 9/7 after resolving a restore balance.

Important Rules Correction: Suspending a spell is not casting it; however, you may only suspend a spell if you could cast it as if it were a normal spell.
@@VolvoxSocks He could suspend and then cast, but he can't cast something and then suspend another card. I think he could theoretically (in a different deck probably) suspend a bunch of cards on the same turn as long as he didn't cast anything. The rule is weird 702.61a.
Can't believe I have been watching for about four years. I think even longer than that I am just not sure. Thanks for making this series it really means a lot to me and others that it is here. When I am downwind I know I can just sit in the dark listening to the gameplay immersed in the world of magic. Thanks again and cheers.
The jankiest interaction that will never come up but exists: Just like the old-school Ancestral Recall, Ancestral Vision can draw your opponent cards. So if you have Revel in Riches with 7 treasures, Smothering Tithe, Electrodominance and Ancestral Visions, you can: End of opponent's turn use Dominance to cast Visions; draw your opponent 3 cards; make 3 treasures with Tithe; win on your upkeep with Revel and 10 treasures.
If the second ability of Revel in Riches causes you to win the game, please refrain from throwing your Treasure tokens into the air as this may distract or injure other players. I am dead XD
They could've saved themselves a few points of damage by throwing Bolts at Swifty when it was above 3 toughness. They hadn't seen anything except blue and white mana for a while so it's likely they thought we were blue white control Under that assumption, path would be our main removal, so bolting Swifty would've been the ideal play imo
Just wanted to go out of the way to say I’m loving the new intro it has something for everyone it has that excited “what’s gonna happens feel” that you want but is also completely spoiler free.
So Seth, if you took out the smothering tithe and revel package but kept the rest, you may just have a competitive Modern deck here. Replace those cards with ones that let you survive against faster decks, maybe more disruption and I like it.
Came here to say the second half of this too. Like, dropping the 4x revel 4x tithe and just playing straight grixis makes the Mana base cleaner and leaves a ton of slots open for more card draw (goblin lore?) and interaction
I really did build and play the Wily Goblin version! I think I might have recorded enough matches to actually make it into an episode. Maybe I'll releases it at some point just so you can see. Just be warned, it was mostly me playing Wily Goblins and losing.
@@MTGGoldfish My first instinct was to build a deck around Virulent Plague and giving away tokens, ala Modern Grismold. But this was far flashier, in every way ATO should be!
This was the AtO style craziness I love to see! Such a janky mess, but so much fun to see played and go off. By far the most suspense I've had from a Magic video for a long time. Thanks for another excellent video!
Petition to change deck name to "Kitchen Sink". It's got everything we ever wanted: Waste Not, Burning Inquiry, Revel in Riches, Restore Balance, Wheel of Fate... etc...
Blood Moon is in the sideboard on the theory that opponent can telepathically sense Seth's sideboard, and so will get the impression that Seth's deck *must* be remotely compatible with Blood Moon and thus they won't feel the need to side in Blood Moons themselves.
@jvalex18 Quite so. If anything, Uro and teferi are the bullshit cards. Discouraging interaction and in the case if tef3ri, straight up removing it from the game
Suspend is super weird: 702.61a Suspend is a keyword that represents three abilities. The first is a static ability that functions while the card with suspend is in a player’s hand. The second and third are triggered abilities that function in the exile zone. “Suspend N-[cost]” means “If you could begin to cast this card by putting it onto the stack from your hand, you may pay [cost] and exile it with N time counters on it. This action doesn’t use the stack,” and “At the beginning of your upkeep, if this card is suspended, remove a time counter from it,” and “When the last time counter is removed from this card, if it’s exiled, play it without paying its mana cost if able. If you can’t, it remains exiled. If you cast a creature spell this way, it gains haste until you lose control of the spell or the permanent it becomes.”
I feel like the sideboard could use some fatal pushes and some unmoored egos along with for spice some crashing footfalls because i would love too see that in a aggro matchup!
This is such an interesting pile of magic cards. EDIT: I just noticed that even in MTGO Seth still has different blood moons to make them as triggering as possible
I'm curious why you didn't use echo of eons seems like the perfect card to use when you are using burning inquiry. It wheels and doesn't require the weird suspend package.
I'm pretty sure you could have still at least held on a while in match 2 against the Burn opponent after that miss on the Burning Inquiry. I believe the Gargadon on suspend was at 4 counters which means you could have sacrificed 4 lands to get it into play and block the goblin guide. At that point the opponent would need two attackers with haste to kill you or you could just gamble on them having nothing (or if you draw removal) and attacked them with Gargadon since they're dead in 2 hits.
This deck could be absolutely beautiful. Play some of the rainbow lands maybe? Also seems like revel is actually the weakest link alongside tithe, inquisitions could help protect the as foretold alongside dispell or negates, maybe play your own remands lol.... Also vexing shushed in the side for these matchups? Also if your really wanting to be balling you could play all the rainbow options and veil of summer and be super greedy haha....
Match 3, particularly game 3, is a perfect example of why I don't see Control as being all that different from Prison. Both are ways to not let me play Magic.
Honestly real talk if you drop the revel in riches wincon for something else this would probably be a pretty strong deck. Maybe throw in more gargadons and pull some of the removal into the main deck.
At 25 minutes you mused about adding the “blue and black and red triome” but sadly there is no Grixis triome: they’re in the wedge colours, not the shard colours :-(
42:16 Seth says suspending a card counts as casting, but, "Exiling a card with its suspend ability is not casting that card. This action doesn't use the stack and can't be responded to. " via gamepedia. Is this just a online bug?
You can only suspend if you could cast a sorcery, and by casting that As Foretold he used up his only non-creature cast for the turn, so it turned off Suspend. Another similar example is that if you cast Quicken you can suspend at instant speed for the rest of the turn or until you cast a sorcery.
This deck could use some Forbidden Orchards for better mana, giving the opponent tokens is an upside if you can Restore Balance and cash those tokens in for treasures
@@MTGGoldfish I mean, nobody's perfect, it's fine, I can see why you thought it worked that way. Just seeing you being so excited about something I knew was not gonna happen, thinking "I got bad news for you...", Not IDEAL I guess. Still a great and fun deck to watch though.
So, that play in game one (you know the one) is technically a 22-for-2 (unless you count the mana you get off Waste Not, then it's a 23-for-2). I have actually never seen a play that costs less than 10 mana go that positive in material without going infinite (at ten mana plus, you can draw or play your whole deck with Enter the Infinite, Genesis Wave, Villainous Wealth, any X card draw spell, Primal Surge, etc).
Speaking of Treasure Tokens! Seth! Have you sen the interaction between Pitiless Plunderer and March of the Machines? I'd love to see a deck try to win with the combo!
We have gone down a rabbit hole. We started at Revel in Riches and ended with Waste Not and Restore Balance.

Important Rules Correction: Suspending a spell is not casting it; however, you may only suspend a spell if you could cast it as if it were a normal spell.
I was going to say this

@@VolvoxSocks He could suspend and then cast, but he can't cast something and then suspend another card. I think he could theoretically (in a different deck probably) suspend a bunch of cards on the same turn as long as he didn't cast anything. The rule is weird 702.61a.
