It’s really good to see you back again Nick. I’ve also got an AM5 and love it’s build quality. My only gripe with it is having to use the hand controller or ASIAir to move it. There are no manual clutches.

I can’t see anything obvious. I wonder if they assume most people are using an ASI Air with the polar align tool
You will love the AM5. I have had one for a few months and every time I use it I am overwhelmed by how sturdy it is and how well it tracks and guides. But, ZWO advise not to attach the ASIAIr on the side. Too easy for cables to snag.

As someone who is looking at this or the ioptron hem 27, is there a reason you picked this over ioptron or anything else. I'm personally drawn to the ZWO as an asiair user but the am5 is more expensive.
I was very fortunate that ZWO sent this to me to test for a while. The iOptron HEM27 is also a great mount
Is getting the tripod mandatory? I have a nice sturdy tripod and wedge that i use with my fornax mount already
No you don’t have to buy it with the tripod, you can buy the mount on its own

I also am upset about the bloated use of plastic packaging! I'm a tree hugger, who detests the use of non- RRR packaging. Some blister packaging is necessary to deter retail theft. Plastic stuffing like bubble wrap is deplorable! My favorite online photo store B&H, uses plastic. Love the store, hate the packaging. High Point Scientific uses paper, love everything about them.
Just bought a tablet pouch. Flat "cloth pouch" could've been shipped in an envelope. It was shipped in a huge box with more far more weight in bubble wrap and cardboard than the pouch. RIDICULOUS!! Environmental Pigs.
great vid mate, id love to see how well it plays with nina as far as setup, considering one myself but dont use asi air
I’ve never used NINA myself. Long term I’ll see about giving NINA a go and see how I get on with it
