PA 15” and 7”?! You must be genius. I don’t get below 50-60” with 10 microns mount after 12 star alignment.
Or your ASAir reports BS numbers for PA and guiding.
Congratulations! You win the AM5 lottery, twice! I have never been able to bring mine to those guiding numbers. Many other people using PhD2 have the same experience. I am starting to wonder if the Asiair reports false numbers.
Thanks for watching, I appreciate it! I don't believe that's the case as I've used the mount with APT and had similar guiding numbers. One thing I do have to do is recalibrate on each target before I shoot that helps significantly with 1 sec exposures
Run the ASI polar alighment a couple of time during the night. As thte night get cooler, your PA may change. Level the tripod, be very picky to be sure it is 100% level across all the legs. Then make 100% sure your scope is orthogonal to the mount, in both verical and horizontal axis. My guiding greatly improved after being obsessive with leveling and the scope being orthogonal. Also is your giude scope perfectly parallel to the you main scope? Purchase a very high quality guide scope, that really helps. Finally be sure all your 12V and imagaing cables are not catching or sliding against your rig during imaging.. Good luck.

Great video. I just picked up a second AM5. After having mine for a few months. Great guiding numbers too, there is a secret to obtaining them and I've finally figured it out, 3 nights in a row I've had a guiding of 0.35 and lower. Where did you get the right angle polar alignment scope attachment?

@@TheSuper8mm sorry I gave you the wrong link for the scope rings. I believe this is the one that I use and I just unscrewed the middle piece and attach the rings to the dovetail base. Happy to hear you picked up the feet they work great 👍 thanks for watching amzn.to/3Zo3i3g
