Kpop doesn't do concepts like VIXX anymore, so it's fun watching people reacting to and becoming fans of the group! Definitely one of the best discographies in kpop. Honestly, we miss them :"((

vixx actually pioneered theatrical concepts in kpop!! as well as set a lot of trends, like colored contacts and fancy makeup and chokers :D im so glad you reacted to them. i hope you react to more in the future (the error mv is iconic, it's a must watch. on & on too!)
vixx really are the concept kings who does it like them honestly,,, i miss them
N is my bias because of his beautiful dancing skills and I love his vocal tone. He's also great at other types of dancing styles - like his "Passionate Tango" performances and the "Fate" dance he did in traditional dress. He's a brilliant dancer.
i love how their songs do 'feel like 2013', but the BEST of 2013. some songs can be dated, therefore becoming bad, but vixx can take you on a journey through time and serve the top quality you missed out on years ago.
Beautiful Liar is such a good music video. Ravi basically plays the side of Leo that is angry and desperate to hold on to his relationship with the woman leaving him, willing to do anything to keep it. Whereas Leo himself is willing to let go and suffer for the sake of her "happiness", even if it's with somebody else. And it's basically the internal battle within of trying to keep it altogether and coming to terms with it at the end, with Ravi walking away from Leo at the end, showing that Leo has accepted it, even if it destroys him.
Or at least that's always been my interpretation of it. :)
Fantasy is my favorite title track (alongside Shangri-La), and Into The Void is my favorite b-side. I'm so glad those two songs were included in this!
VIXX is literally just a group of theatre kids and a rapper, of course they're going to be the embodiment of theatrical kpop lmao
yup, they were saying "should I go, should I stay? no body knows" at voodoo doll. here is a thing about VIXX: they always says something like " love can and will hurt you but you have to love that pain too. leaving, forgetting because of pain is not acceptable" so, yes voodoo doll actually about love :D
About Dynamite and Fantasy , Im actually waiting to see your reaction to The Closer after these two mv so Im a little surprised that you didnt react that one. Dynamite, Fantasy and The closer mvs ( and those 3 albums) are on same concept "Greek Gods". they started to release them from Dynamite to The closer but the story actually going backward. So, please react to The closer too.
and Im totally agree with you about Ravi. he is an amazing rapper an amazing dancer. also he is an amazing producer and songwriter. Did you know he has the most copyrigt under his name? he is the top of the "most coyrigted idols" right now. Also he is a CEO and doing pretty good with his own label and his artists under his label so please check some GROOVL1N mv too.
About Hyde dance practice Im soo happy and also not happy at the same time. its really good that you reacted to dance practice because its a perfect choreo and soo many people missed it. but its not good to react dance practice because mv itself was a legend too...
Also about beautiful liar by Leo and Ravi, you were right its two sides of same person and Im soo happy you get the concept by watching it only once! Also vixx loves this " same person's different sides" concept ( Jekyll and Hyde concept, VIXX LR mvs, ..) so if you confused about who are they in mv you can consider them as same person.

There is only dance practice video for this song because they deleted the mv right after upload it and now, they refuce to accept it was exist. So, we are thinking another VIXX from a parallel universe uploaded the mv and deleted it when they figured out it was the wrong dimension...

🥰 I knew you'd love the drama(tm)! VIXX are known for their concepts but they're honestly SO solid discography-wise. The other request you have for them fills in some MV gaps! I freely admit this is biased lol.
The whiplash is a real thing! My request shortchanged their light concepts, but they followed up the Hyde album with a Jeckyll repackage (title song GR8U) and the whiplash between the two titles is STELLAR. Highly recommend. I love how distinctive the VIXX members are from each other: voices, appearances, even dance styles. ♥ Thank you so much again!

I started to listen to them few weeks before the Hyde comeback. I LOVE Hyde, it's my favourite song from them. I had Leo with long hair during hyde promotions as my phone wallpaper for the rest of 2013 XD
Vixx LR is great, i had one of their teaser pic for Beautiful liar as my phone wallpaper for months XD Whisper was their comeback, also an amazing song.
Another MV and song for Halloween is Lyn collab song with Leo, Blossom tears. My god, I love that song!
Dynamite and Fantasy are part of the Conception trilogy, inspired by greek my mythology. Dynamite is from the album Zelos, Fantasy is from Hades and then we have the 3rd album, Kratos.
I've now finished the video and long comment coming through-- this was an interesting mix of videos, and Voodoo Doll (legendary) really felt apt with Halloween coming up. Dynamite (part 1 under mini album Zelos) and Fantasy (part 2 under mini album Hades) are part of their Conception trilogy, which was based around the gods that appear in Greek mythology. My favorite MV from VIXX though would have to be Error, where they do a cyborg concept!
I was surprised that the practice video for Hyde was selected since the music video for that is also talked about when you need something for Halloween. VIXX does dark concepts so well, the whiplash is relatable whenever they do something... not dark lol. They actually did a Jekyll and Hyde concept, where Hyde was a dark concept, and the follow up was GR8U, a total 180 to that.
Only U was shot in Sweden while they were doing their showcase there (I think they're among the first groups to hold showcases in Sweden and Italy? Correct me if I'm wrong.), and it was the pre-release for their first full album Voodoo. Also, just wanted to add that VIXX LR did release another song called Whisper in 2017!
Like I mentioned in my first comment, this reaction really brings the nostalgia because VIXX are truly concept kings with great vocals, dances, and songs. With how fast everything in kpop moves, it's easy for older groups to get lost in the shuffle since they're not actively promoting as a group right now. Thank you so much for this video! 'only U' is not really an official MV... They didn't perform it, it was some gift before the actual official release(before 'voodoo doll'). I was surprised that you like it so much (it's a good song i don't deny it).
The concept trailer you watched was not for 'dynamite' it was for the 2016 trilogy whose name is 'ker/conception'. The principal theme is Greek Gods and you have to watch 'dynamite'->'fantasy'->'the closer'(for the release date order or 'the closer'->'fantasy'->'dynamite' for the cronological plot) in order to find out all the story .
'Dynamite' seems to be a bright song but if you read the lyrics and understand the concept, it's not really that bright. The concept and album name is 'Zelos' the god of jealousy. They explode with colors...
Yes, N create the dance of his solos perfs.
According to me it's a pity that you watch the dance practise for 'Hyde', for me you have to watch a live perf (like the 20130626) where the 3 members wear a color, and the 3 others an another color (with some lenses too). If you watch one of these perf you will really see the "jekyll&Hyde" concept. The dance takes an another degree of perfection this way. And if you find a version with the lyrics in it ...... mind blowing!!!
It's the same for 'voodoo dol' and 'error' (and 'eternity', 'chained up', etc etc) the MVs are great but you can find the details only in live perfs because if VIXX became the concept kings it's because of all the aspects: lyrics, dance, MV, make-up, clothes, CD design, Ravi's haircuts ^^, etc

'Error' MV (a masterpiece) and a live perf (the 20141015 if possible)
'Shangri-la' MV (an another masterpiece) and the remix live perf '2017 MBC music festival' -------> A MUST , the 'dingo live' for this song is great too
The 131124 stage of 'voodoo doll' (the comeback stage for inkigayo)
For halloween vibes, I recommend you Leo&Lyn (a famous solo singer) with the MV 'blossom tears'

oh my god yeah, vixx is so theatrical. no wonder like everyone but ravi (rapper) have done theater plays. but right, i always say watch a whole concert of an artist to really get a feel of them, and watching vixx’s? their entire concert was one big musical theater act. they had the actors and they performed the set list in their story in turn. it was downright magical.

Vixx is The kpop group when it comes to dark concepts, I'm glad you're reacting to them. And I would recommend another older group that had a dark concept (more aggressive kinda like Mosnta X) that is called BAP. I recommend cheking out Warrior (debut song), Wake me up, Skydive and One shot (I don't know how much music videos you can check in a single video but their mvs are pretty long)

As someone who used to ult VIXX... I might cry here with my Hyuk poster :')
The rapper is Ravi (also lead dancer) and the other boy in LR is Leo (main vocal, he has one of my fave personalities I've seen)
The other vocals are Ken (main vocal), N (leader, main dancer) and Hyuk (maknae, main dancer, also raps).
And we also had Hongbin, the one in the end in voodoo doll (lead rapper, he also sings, its the visual and my heart still hurts cuz I miss him).

Vixx is heavily atmospheric group and I love them, each member is so unique and they have sub unit made of Ravi and Leo as you saw and this is one of the best units ever. Currently they aren`t active and I just saw that Hongbin had to leave...Korea and their idea of being hyper pure... Also Ravi have many solo stuff and I love them all,fun fact he is scred from bugs XD. Leo also have solo work and some of them acted before/ Side note, now day they censure everything so not the concepts are a bit limited
I had to double-take when I saw the title because it was so unexpected! Before I adopted more groups, I only actively followed INFINITE and VIXX (but it was easy to know and keep up with what everyone else was releasing) so seeing this makes me feel really nostalgic fjdjdjdkdkd I'll leave another comment once I finish the video

wow it's been a long time since i listened to vixx. you should check them out more, their vocals are amazing, choreography ☑, rapping ☑, plus they're hilarious. 😂 i was lucky to be able to attend their concert way back in 2015 here in manila, it was such an amazing experience.

Yes VIXX! One of the first groups I discovered back in 2016 when I was just getting into K-Pop. They don't get the attention they deserve. They are so unique in the K-Pop world. I saw them love back in 2017 and they are just as good on stage! I hope you explore more of their music! :D You won't be sorry!

I entered kpop through VIXX and to this day they are my favorites. Visual, voice, concept, personalities, melodies 💞 I like how different they are.
Fantasy sampled moonlight sonata and it became my favorite VIXX song lol i love when my two world's kpop and classical music clash haha

In case no one has mentioned it yet, Voodoo Doll is a take on abusive relationships and how hard it can mess with your heart and head. Hence the "should I go, should I stay, nobody knows". I feel knowing this makes the MV even more astounding and interesting. I know it did me!
