Lol love your reaction as always! The staff is actually supposed to be a voodoo needle and they're dolls being stabbed (the mv really gives all the context of the choreo)
What i love with vixx is they don't hold anything back when they're doing a concept. They are not like most other groups who decide a concept, give subtle signs at the mv and forgets everything in the choreo or promotions. They don't make things subtle or water-down concepts, they make sure every detail is perfectly showing what they are doing. They have a voodoo doll concept? They make sure from the music video to dance choreography everything is visualising voodoo magic. This is why they are known as concept idols and nobody else can reach their level
Glad to see you doing more vixx reactions. They don’t get the recognition that they deserve nowadays. Like they really made concepts a whole concept, being the first group to go big on concepts and making have a concept their concept (if that makes sense)
I love this choreo! The... thing they're holding and passing to each other it's a representation of a voodoo needle.
vixx is too underrated nowadays their concepts and execution are just so incredible and theatrical. it's funny that you were surprised at the mic tape, i'm pretty sure it's always used when wearing body mics haha
The concept was that they are the actual voodoo dolls and the stick/staff thingy is the pin/needle that is used for voodoo dolls. This is one of my faves from VIXX. I miss them
The camera shaking was intentional to create tension. It was a popular way to add transitions. Thank you for reacting to vixx.
the curtain reveal w/ Hongbin walking forwards matches up with the choreo for Hyde, where Hongbin walks backwards! one of my fav things is when choreo/video does a callback for symmetry.

This is such a creepy great song -- VIXX always puts so much theatrics in their performance.
THEY WERE THE ABSOLUTE KINGS OF PERFORMANCE!! I miss them so much. The one that you constantly say is so good is actually an actor now and his dramas have been quite good!
Thank you so much your VIXX reactions have been a highlight! If you want to see them doing different kind of choreo, more current I guess, I think dynamite has awesome footwork! Also shangri-la is excepcional for me. Both much more current while maintaining a concept.
And for a very very theatrical concept and choreo Fantasy is a must! You can def see how they developed their skills and polished the concepts they were going for. In Fantasy it was more about Greek mythology and concepts around that.

You should watch the music video it was one of the scariest things I saw in kpop the gore was real

You should watch the 19+MV. It will make the story more understandable. The song is Voodoo - so its all about the possession
One of the most fun thing to do in voodoo choreo is to watch the needle being subtly passed from one person to another

Yeah the "staff" that they are using was a needle like used on voodoo dolls, the members themselves are the voodoo dolls. If I remember correctly the end of the needle was supposed to look sharper and the "stabbing" choreo was originally more intense but they had to make the end of it less sharp and water down the choreo a bit for broadcasting rules since these music shows are aired on public general television lol
