People sometimes overlook how visually great this game is by Nintendo 64 standards. Its cartridge was even plus sized to fit all the details like moving mouths and individually rendered fingers (as opposed to the "brick"), not to mention all the voice samples. Some have said it's even good enough to pass for a (very) early Dreamcast or PS2 title.
I would say it could even pass for a Dreamcast game that is in the midst of its lifespan. The visuals and voices are so much better than the ones in Sonic Adventure.

T-BOI I’m not gonna lie. Batula scared the crap out of me when I first watched his boss battle as a kid. The way you defeat him isn’t pleasant either. You have to sacrifice villagers and feed Batula with their blood in order to have him fall to his death in the grinder. Honestly, this was very disturbing. 😨😨😨

Where as the original sort of designed levels around movie parodies while still being respectful to WHAT they were paying (haybot being kinda intimidating as ridiculous as it looked, getting up the beach like saving private ryan being legit horrifying, etc) conkers reunion wasn’t just more “in your face” about it, it was entirely in your face. “oh pulling out the trope already ok lets get this over with.” Felt less like conker and more like bubsy.

Man This brought back a ton of memories. I used to play for hours on the co-op game modes. The dinosaur one, tank one, castle war one and the one with the nuke.
I can deal with the way the new conker games look, and the way conker looks (Im referring to Conkers Big Reunion), but the only thing i cant deal with is them trying to make the games kid friendly, like the creators of the current conker games even play the original? I was 9yrs old when I played this game, it was incredible yet so derogatory at the same time. They made fun if so many movies in this game. Wish they made a quality sequal.

Okay, to everybody who does not know what this game is, this game is not for kids. It’s rated M for Mature. YES it looks kid friendly. YES it’s on NINTENDO 64 but geez guys. CALM DOWN! This game was made by the same company who made BANJO-KAZOOIE and DONKEY KONG COUNTRY. So that’s why this game has cartoonish visuals. And all these stupid comments being all: WHAT IS THIS GAME?! WHY IS THERE BLOOD?! I can’t deal with this. RareWare did have some inappropriate humor sometimes. And even though it is not for kids, who cares?
