And red licorice for the American snacks instead of Toxic Waste. They were really comparing licorice snacks to sour candy? Toxic Waste is arguably the sourest candy in the world so of course the British would win that round.

@@brenna_boop6341 we use loads of spices (cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, saffron etc), just differently to America. Also, the nation’s adopted favourite dish is curry. You would struggle to find a town in the UK that doesn’t have a curry house. The myth that all British food is bland partly comes from ww2 when we physically couldn’t get any spices, and afterwards whilst rationing and poverty continued. Some of our food is bland sure, but who doesn’t like a proper plate of fish and chips? Or a steak and ale pie?

Probably so, i don't like foods that leave a long-lasting lingering taste in my mouth. I remember when i travelled around the west coast USA i got sick, it was like the food wasn't real food. Except this road-side diner, the lady at the counter made me some grits and they were literally the best. Just plain with butter i think, sooo good, made me feel a lot better. The bread in the USA is weird, as are the crisps/chips, even the potatoes tasted strange with a strange texture, kinda smoky(like cigarettes) notes in the actual potatoes, and slightly chewy. The veggie burgers tasted like charcoal too, but i actually liked that.

He had signed a youth contract with Scotlands SECOND biggest team glasgow rangers (booo hisss) when he was around 16 but his knee got badly injured snd the injury kept reoccurring and he couldn’t play anymore. A shame but he’s climbed higher as a chef as he ever would have as a footballer

I love pork scratching and beef jerky. I find pork scratchings have more flavour but I did enjoy going through a packet of jerky when doing work. It’s great as a study snack

Depends on the hot dog. Some bolied dodgy sausage could never beat beans on toast. A proper grilled hot dog with onions though...

no beans don't belong on toast, it belong on tortillas 😂 y'all crack me up. it's no surprise why england isn't known for food but for wacky combinations when y'all get bored of eating Indian curry or Chinese, everything but pure English food which isn't good but bland and sad.
I'm Irish and grew up eating beans on toast too. Such a comforting lunch. I can't get my head around how my 7 year old doesn't like beans! Plus they're a source of protein and fibre too.

I think it's an Irish/English thing. We have our own brands manufactured here too. Great for a quick breakfast too. Ah sure anytime of the day it's good wherever it originated from!

I feel like beans on toast vs hot dogs should have been a draw simply because the two together are a magical combination.
I never liked baked beans even as an adult and as an American...you can't go wrong with a hotdog (I hate most hotdog condiments besides chili and cheese)

Beans with toast and cheese too….yum in Canada too. Then wieners cut up and cooked in the beans. Hotdogs with right sausage and bun is good too. Definitely liquorice all sorts.
I have a lot of students from other countries and they all think beans on toast sounds like a terrible idea. They need a cold, wet British winter to truly appreciate it!
