Have you tried to use the mug wraps in an oven vs. the mug press? Our issue with our press is that it does not always administer the same amount of pressure all the way around, where as the wraps have the same amount of pressure for all area surface.

This is Magic Foil and you need to press it to Siser Easyweed Adhesive first. It's actually meant for apparel and we had mixed results pressing to our mugs. It's also very very delicate, so you need to hand wash if putting on a mug. And do not toss the clothes with foil in the dryer or it will start to flake off. My daughter wants foil on a metal tumbler. I tried yesterday but the adhesive melted a lot. I don't know what temp I really used because I used an iron. I wonder if I had let it cool down if the adhesive would have settled back down. I put the foil on what I did have and of course it was a hot mess. Have you tried anymore tests with this? I love the foil and would love for this to work.
Hey kathy, We would recommend using a mug press because you can see how much heat and pressure you are using while pressing. What we don't recommend is using a iron. You can't gauge how much heat and pressure while you use an iron. - TRW Aaron
EasyWeed Adhesive (for foil) Blade 1, Force 15, Speed 10, 1 pass, but it varies machine to machine as well as you blade age and condition etc. But this is a good starting point, just be sure to always test cut and adjust before wasting material. -TRW Crystal

sublimation mug is treated with coat that absorbs sublimation inks. She doesn't look like she is using sublimation printer so there is really no point of her using sublimation mug. She could have used any mug.

No special mug is used you can use any regular mug, just make sure it's clean and wipe with alcohol is also recommended. The foil is not printed that's why it was not shown as printed in the video. I see no reason why you would need a sublimation mug, she is simply putting a cut adhesive layer on the mug first then the gold foil to the adhesive, that is not how sublimation works, at no point will the adhesive layer convert to a gas, so don't waste your money on coated mugs. imo

If I used regular heat transfer vinyl got to be only hand wash? Microwave safe?
We don't recommend putting it in the microwave. You can wash them in the dishwasher, but we recommend handwashing to preserve the foil.

This particular mug has been hand washed and the material is still applied.

We would not recommend you to put it in the microwave after it has been foiled as we have not tested that as of yet.

I see no reason why you would need a sublimation mug, she is simply putting a cut adhesive layer on the mug first then the gold foil to the adhesive, that is not how sublimation works, at no point will the adhesive layer convert to a gas, so don't waste your money on coated mugs. imo
he is right this isn't sublimation. Its simple heat foil transfer. I don't think it will hold up to dishwasher.

Acetone or 91% rubbing alcohol and elbow grease should do the trick.
