    Oh my gosh! I love 💕 your video and knowledge on this subject! I had a high rise condo done in this style it was in multiple magazines. We have moved and I’m trying to do it again. The lady who bought my condo insisted all the furnishings and decor had to stay…😢. I wasn’t for it but my husband pulled the trigger and made the sale. We just needed to relocate…not a day goes by that I don’t miss my things and that space. Prices are tripled since 2008 when I did that home. We’ll see. But I won’t be missing your videos that’s for sure! Glam on❣️

    I want my home redone in Hollywood Regency. Particularly in "Crawford Blue." I really like the shade of blue she liked to be photographed in. I really liked this video because I think the photographs really capture that feeling of luxury and glamour the 1930's films present. Billy Haines really created some smashing interiors!

      I imperatively agree. William Haines and Joan Crawford had a strong connection. He was once one of the biggest box office draws in Hollywood. He and Joan Crawford made several films together. They were very, close friends. Haines was eased out of his movie contract because he refused to give up the man he loved. He and his partner Jimmy Shields went on to have an almost fifty year relationship. Joan called their union the “longest lasting marriage in Hollywood.” After his acting career ended, Billy turned his attention to interior decorating. He decorated for many of his Hollywood friends including Joan Crawford, Carole Lombard and, believe it or not, the director who had once asked him to give up Jimmy Shields. Billy’s style was very opulent and glamorous. He is considered the father of Hollywood Regency.

    I love this style. My entire home is a contemporary, glam, deco and luxe using black, ivory and gold. Now I am trying to add a little french touch and possibly some jewel tones as you suggested. You did a great job on this video.

    I love this video. I really learned a lot. Hollywood Regency is one of my favorite styles along with Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Rococo and Romantic/Feminine style. I also love rooms with exotic and whimsical accents. All of the aforementioned styles could be incorporated into Hollywood Regency design. The narrator explained well the all facets of this glamorous style. I’m saving this video for future reference.

    Love all the individual pieces of furniture, lighting, etc, but all at once its overwhelming to me. Its an art to be able to make such blend cohesive.

      I don’t see why not. Decorating one’s home is a deeply personal undertaking. You must create and environment that makes you happy and comfortable. Personally, I’m a maximalist when it comes to interior decorating. However, there’s nothing to say that you can’t utilize aspects of Hollywood Regency on a level that is well suited to your tastes and lifestyle.

    I have been working (devotedly) on redesigning and redecorating my space - fine tuning what I already have and sourcing (on a budget) what new pieces I am brining in. I just wanted to share that your video has helped me so much! I wish I would have seen it a bit sooner! I was writing notes like I was in a formal class lol. Unfortunately the internet seems to lack content related to Hollywood Regency design. - Thanks for your insight! Wish I had your advice on my reimage lol 🙃

    One of your fans asked about blending this style with Scandinavian, what about traditional? My new condo has a lot of traditional woodwork and style I can’t change. I’m trying to mis both but all that I’m getting is some “glam”…I’m paralyzed with fear of getting the wrong pieces. I had to order from catalogs so far because of this covid world and it’s proven to be a disaster. Now I have one huge elephant in my husbands office, he picked the desk, and I’m just procrastinating on the rest…🙏

    Wow, this style is incredibly beautiful to look at! But it seems really hard to pull off on on a budget since everything is so luxurious and perfect. And I'm not sure if actually living in a place like this wouldn't make it feel a little "too much" after a while. Is there any way to combine this style with something like a more simplistic Scandinavian style to calm it down a little bit? I can't imagine how it could possibly fit together but maybe opposites do attract each other when it comes to interior design ;)

    • @erikkadawninteriors
      @erikkadawninteriors  4 роки тому

      Hi there - yes this is definitely a bold style! To answer your question, I could definitely see this style being combined with Contemporary and Mid-Century Modern (both more simple, pared down styles), so maybe Scandinavian, although that feels a little off for me. But yes, in short, you could combine Hollywood Glam with some more pared down styles. Best, Erikka

    This is a risky style for someone like me. I can appreciate it but I would need a professional to take on that challenge. How does one go about hiring a professional to recreate something like this at home??
    Erikka love your videos!!!!

    • @erikkadawninteriors
      @erikkadawninteriors  4 роки тому

      Hi Martha - I'm so glad you like my videos! Most interior designers should be able to decorate effectively in any style, including this one. I would recommend looking for a local interior designer by searching through Google, Houzz.com (although this is becoming a less popular platform for designers to advertise on), and word of mouth. You'll want to decide if you want to work with a designer in your home (considered "full service" or "traditional" interior design) or if you'd prefer an e-design approach - this is where a designer will create a room design for you and provide you with a shopping list all via email - it's a more affordable approach, but it will require more work on your end). Best of luck to you! - Erikka
