I’m very new to design styles. This video narrows my style down MUCH more. As someone who considers themself, design challenged, I enjoy the simplicity and detail of your content.
Hands down the best explanation on UA-cam on these styles! You're so clear and organized with your thoughts and how you put this together. You hit on different categories, I loved the compare and contrast AND the quiz to check for understanding!! Great pictures to match and with the quiz I think I really understood. Thank you I feel they are often not talked about as much as other design styles.. I thought I was Transitional, however I love some bold prints and a bit more color pops...so I might be more New traditional!....or...just mix them lol
This has helped me so much, thank you!! I'm trying to identify my main personal design style, to decorate my new home, and thought I'd found it with transitional, as I love mixing contemporary and traditional. However, I prefer much more colour and pattern. I must be New Traditional!
Exactly for me too!! I came here thinking I was transitional, bit after the first example picture I KNEW I was New Traditional! 💖💖💖 I came her to find my personal style as well to help me design my forever home, and this video helped so much! Good luck on yours!!
This was such a wonderful video! It really helped me pin point my design style as New Traditional! I'm so excited that I can now move forward putting together my forever home knowing this! Thank you!
I really appreciate this discussion. I’m feeling like, if you take a single piece of furniture from such a room and you can tell that it’s definitely a modern or definitely a period piece, then that piece of furniture came from a new traditional room and not from a transitional room.
I live in the Low Country of SC where everything is COUNTRY - which is not my style! How to create a modern, coastal home using natural materials with chrome and black fixtures? Thank you!
This is the best explanation of traditional and transitional ever! Thank you.

This was a really clear explanation of the differences between these two similar design styles. I love both, but tend toward New Traditional.

New Traditional seems to be closely related to Grand Millennial.
Transitional, traditional but less stuffy and stuck up.
