      I made a Lady model years ago, but not up to the level that I make my current models. If you look closely, you can see her at ua-cam.com/video/BNjVnRiRM8c/v-deo.htmlsi=GVXUDNBZF75wB4BV&t=16

    This has to be one of the most informative short model articles I've seen on youtube. Really well done, Eppy. As another scratchbuilder - albeit in a smaller scale - I like the way you went about it, and the methods you've shown . That is a nice little model too.
    The drawings of 'young Rheneas' were based on the original Fletcher Jennings catalogue engravings by the way. I'm not sure if, or how many, sister engines were built to the design, with her 'very peculiar motion' - did the old Severn & Wye Rlwy have a standard guage version? From memory there were several standard gauge 'Talyllyn's.
    IF anyone can find a copy, a very old 1960's issue of Practical Woodworker' had a good article and plans for a large, wooden toy of 'Dolgoch'. She's always been popular, not least because that 'Gallant Old Lady' effectively saved the Talyllyn in its earliest preservation days.

      Do you have a source where I could find some of those catalogue engravings? I searched for original diagrams, but wasn't able to find much. Documents like that are always helpful when planning my own builds (plus, they're just interesting to look at!).

    :0 It is the goch
    Edit: Nice model btw, to be fair, if we're going by RWS logic, Talyllyn was painted Green when at the Works, so it wouldn't be too un-awdry-like to have Dolgoch Green too lol

    The problem solving is very entertaining to watch.
    And the parts you're using for the prototype is just some specific junk.

      @@Eppy1815 Don't call it 'junk' or 'scrap' - its creative recycling. And part of a very long, and honourable tradition. Railway modellers have been doing it since the 1920's, if not earlier - and thankfully, people like you and me are still upholding it.

    Dose it have the historical feature of the wheels locking up sometimes

    • @Eppy1815
      @Eppy1815  17 днів тому

      The end pieces on the pins are coiled wire, so the end of one coil does sometimes catch the coupling rod. Not my favorite feature, but again…historical accuracy.

      I don't think I'm the right person for that job. Fortunately, there are a lot of sources that provide that genre of content (such as the Talyllyn Railway's channel, Unlucky Tug, Terrier55Stepney, TrainBoy, Train of Thought...).
