    This is easy if your in the country. Digg a hole at least 3 foot deep cover the bottom with lime. Next run your hose to the hole and put something over the top of hole. Every week sprinkle lime in the hole to kill the waste and keep flies out. Cost about 30.00

    This is a great video and the gentleman seems knowledgeable. However, avoiding a septic system is why I'm practicing with a composting vermiculture toilet.

    Cost seems about right. We put in a similar system for our barn bathroom. About $5000 all in including excavation materials labor etc.

    Seen caskets pop out of the ground in wet prone areas, the reason why some graves are capped off with concrete or stone.
    Before we sold our home in Alaska we had to have the leach field replaced. Just the leach field was over $7,000.

    My husband and I bought property in NV for home base 1 acre with nothing on it, we had to put electric, sewer plus we put up a day night shade over the motorhome and could park tow vehicle under it we got one package and they took care of everything including the driveway. We found after we got settled the driveway was not really wide enough to make it easy to back in so just another couple of loads of gravel and was perfect. Also the shade made a great patio

    We set up our home base with two RV sites. One has 50 Amp service (with 200 Amp for future use) and the other has 30 Amp service. We have a septic and well, too. It is set up for a 3 bedroom home, again, in case we ever decide to build. Great video. Thanks.

      Do you have your own water system too? And if you do, can you regulate how much water pressure each trailer gets?

      @Arod Sa Yes, we have a well. That water is not metered so there is no monthly usage fee. The only cost was initial installation.

    Wow, here in NC the septic system has be at least 100 feet from the well. 50 feet in sandy soil sure doesn't seem like much!

    My house builder recommended against connection from RV to a septic tank. Depending on the size and capacity of the septic tank and the load and frequency of sewage, it can overwhelm the tank.

    I'd need a big tank, I'm rolling with a Suburban Nautilus instant water heater and I'm taking as long a shower as I want. LOL

    That’s a good price in todays market. However everything is flat, and it sounds like the soil is ideal

    Great video and I am looking forward to part 2. I have a friend from Boy Scouts that got his degree at college in soil and waste management. Plus he paid for his college maintaining the colleges property.

    I was wondering if you were going to put in a septic system. Great idea!

    Did you have to do a soil percolation test?

    It's nice when you don't have to pack the rv just to go and dump the tanks.

    As I said on the other Video, I was thinking a couple of months ago, watching your videos, why you didn't put a leaching system in for your RV? You must have read my mind!

    Cost me $5K just to replace my drain field (I'm in Florida) so the price you were quoted for everything is very reasonable.

    How many gallons tank do I need for a tv park or 30 spaces ? Thank you

  • @coreyl1501

    Will you be driving over the drain field? Since it will be closer to the surface for evap, I'd be worried about crushing it with the weight of the truck and RV.

    • @Denden505
      @Denden505 2 роки тому +2

      The system is designed for the water to sink into the soil, not evaporate. No problem with water on the surface.

    • @Gunnin2Go
      @Gunnin2Go 2 роки тому +1

      My thought also. I would be nervous to drive on that. I always try to steer clear of septic systems when driving on someones lawn.

    So why an older drain field approach vs. aerobic which is the new standard?🤔😎

    • @BigTruckBigRV
      @BigTruckBigRV  2 роки тому +1

      Well, not sure it's a new standard...depends on the use, need, soil type, and location
