I am currently watching this episode of TV's ruthless game show on Challenge now. I have synchronised this video to the TV, so I can't possibly miss a thing.
Good to see this again; unfortunately, this show never returned for a second series (as originally intended) because it fell foul of broadcasting rules. Contestants bringing in their own money into the studio to play the game was not allowed under broadcasting rules.
That would have also prevented a first series if it had been what actually happened. The law didn't change. The money they 'bought in to the studio' was production money.
I don't know if I could stretch as far as to say I think it's the best game show of all time. As the man once said, "you can't beat a bit of Bully.". Anyway, not getting in to the vast library of game shows I love (The Crystal Maze), Stake Out was something I first discovered years after it existed and really warmed to it. The music is great and Anthony Davis is a fantastic host. Really slick. Top game, even if it does have a heavy vibe of Challenge TV pushing the meager budget to breaking point ("She cannae take it Cap'n!"). Obligatory Millionaire (another favorite.) inspired elements in the set design, that was the law back then. Maybe it's the sense that you've discovered something good that everyone else has missed, when you stumble upon it at half five in the morning. But it is a nice show and sad that it was doomed to a fate of being a mere drop, drowned in the ocean of mainstream channel's Millionaire clones that were two a penny back in the day.
+97channel and this game like Millionaire this game has a rolling format have playing in a middle of a game but right in the intense moment time has called
I had a friend named Mike who passed away earlier this year - he looked very much like Mike from this episode of the show - grey hair with spots of white in his beard. At some point there was another contestant on the show who looked considerably like Mike from this episode. I wonder whether they had done that on purpose or whether the fact that the two contestants' tenures overlapped was merely a happy accident - I think at one point they were in a final two at the same time.
@@bobomb1986 Well, to be brutally honest with you, StakeOUT was one of those shows with a reigning champion that would potentially last for a maximum of five winning games, possibly fewer. Perhaps if you click the link to this playlist that I've just sent you, you might get the picture. And here it is - ua-cam.com/play/PLq3mTjW9Qs3IsRr0j3DE0Koyx5Mf5jKn0.html
@@guypalmer7961 All episodes in one place? Awesome! :D When I was a kid I assumed that when a game show host said, "And we will return tomorrow", they actually *did* go home and come back the next day!
@@bobomb1986 I wouldn't be too sure of that Matthew, if you ask some of the former contestants and crew members on the show (as you can probably see in the credits). But from what I've calculated I take it these were screened before you started college in September 2002, I believe. StakeOUT aired from mid-November 2001 until around December of 2001.

A shame because I thought it was enthralling.
6:41 Could they not have redone that bit?
Same happened with Dirty Money back in 2002, Defectors luckily made a second series the same year.

Alan, Chris, Gina, & Mike are the four contestants on this episode of the British TV quiz show Stake Out.

Apparently the contestants did not bring£250 of their own money into the studio. All the£500 starting stake was provided by Telewest.
I like the crystal maze my favourite game show
Mark Labbett from the Chase was a contestant on this! He didn't do well though, didn't even get to the final 2
My goodness, really?
MBCNetworkSpanish RBLX yep. I believe I watched that episode.
@@F4FireAndSecurity Oh, do you have the episode?
MBCNetworkSpanish RBLX I have the clips of him on there on my channel

This episode is on Challenge right now hahaha
what are the complete rules
what time did u record that show i tried to watch it last night at 5:00am bst
It's back on Challenge on Sunday mornings at 10am.
I say now STAKE OUT is back on Challenge can someone start uploading the episodes of the series please?
I would have uploaded all 30 episodes on UA-cam from the camera but I will try next Time if it is played again
That's Numberwang
The crystal maze
I also think someone should upload all the Nick Weir episodes of Catchphrase
21:17 Well done
Judging by the night-time ident at the start and the daytime ident at the end, I would say this was recorded at 5:30am.
After all this time, I have just noticed that there is a +1 DOG in the top right corner: therefore, this was recorded at 6:30am on Challenge +1.
Do you have any more episodes of StakeOUT? If so, could you upload them please?
Mike was a 4-Time Champion and ended up winning a Grand Total of £10,650!!!

Bet the Mike you're talking about isn't the same Mike from this episode of Stake Out, is he?

Obviously, he's never been to Buckinghamshire.
