I love that so many people like me were compelled to just listen to the soundtrack when they're not playing the game. It's a testament to your ability.
Waiting for that price drop! I have found that a game with an excellent soundtrack will almost never suck. It shows how much the developers care, IMO.

The first race I played, Unfallen will always hold a special place in my heart. I almost try to not put unfallen ai in the game, hurts when they side against you. They sound chocked full of remorse...
heh when I played the Cravers, they sounded more pissed than remorseful, like they're aware they're addressing an irredeemable blight that can only be stopped with violence. The declaration of war even came with a disgusted "Do not pretend SURPRISE that the Unfallen would impose this!" And to be fair, I was burning half the galaxy down.
I literally do everything in my power to stay friends with them unless I'm playing Cravers lmao. I don't want to fight Scottish tree grandpa.

man this is really fantastic stuff. Real good mix between the struggle to understand the galaxy and the desire to heal it.
When I first heard this on the soundtrack I was so happy this was recorded with a real bass clarinet -- you can even hear the keys' clicks! The performance is gorgeous. The harp solo is a really neat touch too. Overall I also find this track very reminiscent of Endless Legend, which is quite fitting for the Unfallen faction.

For being an 'indie' game, Endless Space 2 has some of the best game music I've heard.
Its not a indie game, it was done by a seasoned game company that made other 3 games!
Late to the party, but Endless Space 2 isnt't indie anymore. Was published by Sega. Endless 1 was tho.

nvsmoothy Afaik, all the themes posted thus far are the demo versions, used in the early acces, with the complete soundtrack coming up with the launch. Also, typically the music used in the faction prologues is it's own individual theme, it was the same with endless legend.

But warlike wouldn't fit the Unfallen. At all. This sounds calmer, more tranquil and peaceful. That fits the Unfallen better than warlike would.
it's a beautiful piece but for real, how are you going to make theme music for a species that's guided by a great beating heart (literal or not) and not include percussion?
The version with the drums is used in the end screen after beating the game with the Unfallen.
I remember hearing this song for the first time and thinking "wait, is that my instrument?! Was that a bass clarinet with the melody part!" came hear and found out it was! I wish I could get the sheet music for the bass clarinet part some how, that'd make me one happy soul.
