I literally just ordered the maj100-ADR today. I got it brand new for $600 after trading a schecter Demon-6 Special and a ln LTD SN-200 with guitar center.

We just went on a journey together. I thought "man, this guy is a douche" when you were unboxing. When you started playing, it immediately put you into a great mood and, in turn, it put me into a good mood. I just bought an LTD FRX407 for about the same price. Kind of regretting it after looking into the Majesty guitars. Great playing also. Cheers.
Yes you can bet when the box has been Re Taped it's a Return that someone has already fingered, and you still pay a new price for used goods, I know this for a fact because i know someone who worked for AMS and FYI ZZounds is owned by the same people who also use the same Warehouse as AMS and also sell Used goods as NEW, They will Rip you off if your not careful. The reason for this besides not wanting to lose money is that they have such a quick turn around of returns due to the easy pay plan with no credit check and people just wanting to try something out never intending to keep it because they know they can return it with in 45 days and get a full refund. The guys at the warehouse hardly ever check the content for damage or missing items so Buyer beware !
I'm considering this exact model, but I'm curious about the action and fret buzz/dead frets. How low is the action before you worked on the nut? Were there any dead notes? Low action with no dead notes is a must for me and a deal breaker. Thanks @ChrisTompkins.
This was one of the worst "out of the box" setup's I ever got actually... It needed a lot done to it, to get it to my liking. I had to adjust the bridge completely, spring tension, height, saddle heights and radius, nut slot depth, neck relief and intonation. Luckily, there were no dead spots on the frets. The frets were pretty good and level. The bridge and nut though... I suspect that the guitar I got, was probably a customer return, from American Musical Supply. It may be different if you get an actual brand new guitar and not one that was already messed with by someone else.

I've read and watched a good number of reviews about it already, and the majority have been positive. Although a few were bad and said the fret work was terrible with no rolled fret edges. A few said that they received the Charvel with stress cracks in the neck pocket. I'm hoping that isn't the case with mine. How are your Pro Mods working out?
AMS aren't allowed to open anything from Music Man, for obvious reasons.. Shiped from Indonesia, to the US offices of Music Man to be inspected and professionaly set up, then shipped to a retailer.. They have OBVIOUSLY opened it and fucked around with it.. When a friend of mine got his it where PERFECTLY set up, didn't have to do shit
That's some mighty nice playing; awesome looking guitar as well. Always wanted to try a Majesty but since I live in the Philippines, we don't really get many different guitar brands here. Also, the boost circuit -- not a lot of luthiers here know how to fix it; if it breaks, the guitar's unusable and has to be shipped back to the States, which costs even more cash.

the guitar is a little defective -this happens very often on Ibanez, EPIPHONE, SQUIER, Music Man.. (( - the strings do not go in the center of the fretboard - the sixth string at the end of 24 frets leaves the center, and the first string climbs on the fretboard on the contrary - not all the components are installed exactly, not centered as the guitar should for such money - quickie ((
i really dont get why ernie ball have a different name for their lower price products. I mean the difference is more like the difference between a fender pro and a player rather than a fender and a squier. know what i mean?
No, its not. Factories are on opposite sides of the world. Fender made both of those models under the same roof by the same workers just with different appointments. Sterling guitars are made by different workers than the ones who handcraft the made in usa music mans.
@@eas26 The Fender Player series is made in Ensenada, Mexico; the American Professional series is made 60 miles away in Corona, California. Squiers are made -- these days -- by contract manufacturers in Asia, a few of which make guitars for many famous Western brands and may actually be bigger than Fender itself.

Me personally, I like the Majesty better. The access to the top frets is fantastic and easier than anything else I've ever owned. The 12 db boost is very handy. The humbuckers are noiseless in all positions. The trem stays in tune really well, mostly because of the straight string pull to the locking tuners. There's less friction due to that and not needing string trees. This neck plays faster too. The Majesty is also a neck through. The neck joint is not in any way, going to interfere with playing. And as an added benefit, the guitar resonates in a very pleasing way, that makes you want to keep playing guitar. Having said that, there are a couple things that I like better on the Charvel. First, the bridge pickup. The charvel has Seymour Duncans in it. Next is the back of the neck. The charvel has a smooth unfinished neck that feels really good. The MAJ has a finished neck, that isn't bad, it's just not as good as the Charvel. For me it's the Majesty. :)
Chris Tompkins It definitely seems awesome. My only concern regarding the Sterling is the versatility. It’s obviously geared towards shred and metal in general, but how does it fair with other styles of music compared to the charvel?
@@NourMohamed-xe8zw Yeah, the Charvel also wins in the versatility department as well. But, only slightly and you get the 60 cycle hum too, which to me, is not appealing.
@@NourMohamed-xe8zw In the Charvel, I'd replace the single coils with dimarzio "Area" pickups. In the Sterling, I might swap them for Fishman fluence, since it has the battery compartment. Or, a set of Dimarzio "Sonic Ecstasy" pups, to match the "Monarchy" model.

This was the deciding factor for me cause i want a up and down tremelo but without all the floyd rose locking nut, fine tuner hole inside guitar thing. Does your model work if you disconnect the battery? I got mine, but it seems it works only when the 9v battery is connected!

@@jameslucas9133 They're all fairly similar in tone. For me, the most comfortable is the JP150 with the roasted maple neck. I miss that guitar a lot.

Sterlings don't hold tune as well as American made Music Men, in part because they use very inferior nuts. This is very obvious on the Petrucci line.
