    (Great Video Kevin) I have been working with Kevin for a few weeks now and I have learned more in a few hours with Kevin than all my months of tinkering with Fusion. Highly recommended!

    18:03 shouldn’t be the lead in radius 0 too? Should be a smoother tool path.

    Mighty nice - we had used Xometry in class just to do time studies

      Hi Ed. Did you send the parts out just to see how long it took to get them made? Is that what you meant by a time study? Glad you liked part one.

      @@MechanicalAdvantage - No we had watched a video on cost to manufacture. It was very interesting just to go through the process uploading models and getting estimates ua-cam.com/video/psVpeic0oOY/v-deo.html

    Awesome video! Can't wait for next one in the series. That voice? I'm pretty sure I know that voice 😉

      Hi John. Glad you liked it. Hopefully you picked up a couple new things. Where do you recognize the voice from?

      @@MechanicalAdvantage sorry just seeing your response. The voice most certainly sounded like Vince from NYC CNC.

    Could have used this 8 months ago when I did my first attempt. Passed the inspection and began checking the job boards. Wow is all I could say because making money with them is like a wash. For the first five jobs from what I understand are the first tier jobs and after those 5 where you prove yourself you move up to the better jobs.

      Thanks for the post. Are you saying that it is still a wash even after the first 5 jobs with them?

    • @tdg911
      @tdg911 Рік тому +4

      @@qcnck2776 Looking at the first five its depressing because I made twice as much now for the trade that I'm in. I'm factoring in my time, material and making soft jaws, inspection report time, packing, shipping for a one off part barely to break even so I don't even touch them. I can see where xometry could be good for a job shop being slow to keep an employee busy or something. I totally get it though. Why would Xometry give the top jobs to a n00b that hasn't proven him/herself first. How about some incentive though.... I'm not this hungry yet...

      Sorry! I guess my timing was off. Out of curiosity, did you machine yours in the same orientation I did for the first setup?

      @tdg911 Рік тому

      @@MechanicalAdvantage Don't be sorry at all! You have awesome videos. I did not but I should have because when I flipped mine over I had to machine a piece of material that fit perfectly between the two raised features and clamped in the vise. Actually you and I have exchanged several emails in the past about remote training. If you would like I'll send you my Fusion 360 file to see what my approach was? thanks again for bringing us great videos!

    Hi Kevin my CNC is three axes ( swift CNC 4x4 ) from Laguna CNC do you have any video for setting up on my machine ? Thanks

    • @MechanicalAdvantage
      @MechanicalAdvantage  Рік тому

      I don’t specifically have one for your mill, however, I do have a couple of playlists that I have created for creating a setup. That should apply to your machine. The biggest piece of info you need is where the WCS origin needs to be set for your machine.

    I'm retired living on a fixed income, $500.00 a year for Fusion 360???
    Is there an alternative?

    • @MechanicalAdvantage
      @MechanicalAdvantage  Рік тому

      It’s free if you make less than $1,000 of revenue a year from Fusion.
