They’re all beautiful but I think I like the resin version the best. I am grateful for these videos.

I ordered two of 149. One has gone for nib alteration to FINE. Other one, believe it or not, had a hole at the junction of grip section & barrel. Have returned it !
Was surprised & sad to see a 100 years anniversary special edition piece coming out like that.

@@Shak-MD The person in Montblanc boutique asked me "Did you drop the pen?". I replied "Can you demonstrate how to drop a pen and create a hole at this spot without any other scratch on the pen?". Funny guys 😬

Love the size and "in hand" feel of my 149. Never had the experience of seeing/holding a 146. But, that "Due" ... wow!

Great video as always and the best one I’ve seen so far. For me the 1920s clip is a great distinguishing feature of the new 149 and it reminds me of the 1950s Aurora 88 clip which I also love on that pen; I understand how difficult it is for many to accept any change to the iconic 149 but it really thinks it suits the large size of the 149.
Please note from the MB *catalogue* …

So nice to see your comparison video … BEST video on YT on the MST 100 so far! I especially liked the comparison of the two LeGrand size pens and you make some good points about the resin version. Did you notice any difference between the 18K and 14K F nibs?
I have the Doue 18K F and the 149 18K M from this collection and I love both of them although I find the M nib a little wider than other M nibs from other brands. However I am really loving the weight and balance of the new 149 (the extra 8 grams is perfect in my opinion - 5 g on the body and 3 on the cap) and for me once I tried the 149 it just made the 146 size seem less of a pen.
I would love to see more a comparisons between the traditional 149 and the new 149 also compared to the 146 from the MST 100 collection to see you take on it for people who enjoy long writing sessions. Thank you so much and enjoy.

Thanks Dimitri. There is very subtle difference on drag in the nibs 14 vs 18k. The 18k feels like more of 149 feedback. It feels like you are writing on cotton paper. Awesome feeling.
I'll definitely work on some more comparisons.
      Cheers brother.

@@Shak-MD OK, thanks. No way for me to compare but the medium 18K on my 149 MST100 feels super smooth with no feedback and no noticeable softness in the nib. The overall writing feel of the 9 size nib is just wonderful and very unique to this pen … but I had to add a little feedback to meet my taste.

Does the snowcap finial have blue resin around the snow like the body or is it black for the 146?

    • @Shak-MD
      @Shak-MD  9 місяців тому +1

I checked, and it is the color of the body---blue.

How does it write?I keep seeing people say that the newer montblanc models nibs write for shit and its the only thing stopping me from buying one.

People who say that generally have not experienced enough of the pen experience. So, I'd put appropriate amount of weight on their impression. IMO.

bit disappointed by the design choices for 100 years model...... they do such a good job for their other series & this feels like a "lazy attempt" its historical but it does not look like a Meisterstuck that much....... and solitaire model for that price without any gold or silver overlay is crazy expensive.......not a fan of sloppy marble cap and clip too........ its a historic pen but feels like a "missed opportunity"

Montblanc have discontinued the old square presentation boxes. Even the Legrand Solitaire’s now come in a cardboard sleeve and the one box with a cloth pen pouch. Talk about cutting corners at this price point. The new designs are plain lazy and the top of the line orange fountain looks cheap in that tacky bright orange and gold in real life. Where is your market for these pens, China?

    • @Shak-MD

@ it’s a beautiful pen. Just wished the turned down the bling and give us proper presentation boxes at this price point.
